I’m not joking when I say you should get the Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker cleanser!

January 6, 2024 Paris B 2 Comments

I was looking for a cleanser a few months ago, which led me to the Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker. I found the name amusing.

It must be said that I am very picky about my facial cleansers. I have dry skin generally, so the cleansers I go for must be non-drying, which means I avoid anything that is foaming. I usually go for cream cleansers as I find them to be the least drying on my skin.

Gel type cleansers can be touch or go for me. Sometimes, they feel a little harsh, and sometimes, they feel like they don’t clean well. There aren’t many that I’d use because I’m so fussy! 😛

But happily, Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker is a winning find!

The year end missive

December 30, 2023 Paris B 3 Comments

Hi friends!

Gosh, it’s been a while hasn’t it? It will feel like I’m making excuses for my lack of presence here, so I won’t 😛 That being said, I do have quiet plans to be a little more present here on my blog. I’ll keep them quiet because I’m not sure how quickly I’ll bounce back 😛

I have been observing the social media space over the past year, and it is with interest that I note that there is a renewed interest in blogging, or rather, in keeping a space to call your own. While Twitter seems to have imploded in a dumpster fire (I’m no longer very active there myself), Instagram and Tiktok don’t seem to be going anywhere. But there is a growing realisation that anything you build on another’s platform can be easily taken away, whether due to complaints, or a server outage, or simply because of a change of ownership (as in the case of Twitter).

When you have your own space, you aren’t subject to the whims and fancies of someone else. You can only be accountable to yourself for keeping it populated. And that’s something I want to do more of 🙂

You don’t have to be a CEO to enjoy the Sunday Riley CEO Rich Hydration Cream!

sunday Riley CEO rich hydration cream

My jar of the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream came as part of a set I purchased last Christmas. I like buying pricey brands during the holiday season, because you do tend to get better value, or get to try a product you may otherwise not have the opportunity to.

I had tried the CEO Vitamin C serum and face oil in the past, so it was about time I rounded up the trinity and tried the cream as well 🙂

The Empties Edition #2 : Some stalwarts but some that just don’t make the cut

empties skincare

Oh hello! It’s been a while, but here’s another Empties Edition. It isn’t to say that I don’t use up products at other times. This is when I remember to set them aside so I remember to update some thoughts about them, in particular, if I’d repurchase, because that’s a sure sign of whether a product withstands the test of time 🙂
