New! Dior Addict Makeup extends to the eyes with It-Lash and It-Line

When pressed for a favourite lipstick formula, I tend to gravitate towards the Dior Addict lipsticks. I’ve been huge fans of them ever since the days back when they came in an opaque dark blue case and a gold holder. If you remember those, congratulations, you too must be a fan! 😀 I have stayed pretty loyal through the years but it wasn’t until recently that it struck me that the Dior Addict lipsticks and glosses and now the new Fluid Stick actually reflects the Dior Addict perfume bottle! Erm yes, late to the party 😛

I was recently introduced to 2 more additions to the Dior Addict makeup range – the It-Lash and It-Line.

These are a brand new range of mascara and liquid eyeliners respectively and a part of the growing Dior Addict makeup range, which previously only focused on the lips. This time, Dior wants to highlight the eyes – the windows to the soul 😀

Like the Addict lip products, the Dior Addict It-Line and It-Lash come packaged like the perfume, with the knob at the top, which is purely for aesthetic purposes. Well, not quite either because for the liner at least, wedging your finger against it actually helps you control the liner better. The tubes are a sleek and simple square glossy black with silver knobs at the end.

I’ll quickly show you some fun things about this new launch from Dior for the Summer 2014. The It-Line liquid lider and It-Lash mascara in black are permanent colours but there are another 3 very fun colours to look out for as well 😀

Guest Review: Shu Uemura Porefinist Anti-Shine Fresh Cleansing Oil by a long time fan

Hello hello!

After that 3000-th post yesterday, I reckon you may be tired of just me rambling on and on eh? 😛 So today, I’d like to feature a guest review today of an iconic product from an iconic brand…. that I cannot use! For some unknown reason, every single version of the Shu Uemura cleansing oils break me out. I’ve tried them all, I promise. I break out every single time and I’ve chalked it up to being one of “those things”. I work well with many other brands of cleansing oils though so it’s not the oil nor the technique. It’s the product.

So, when I was requested to give the Shu Uemura Porefinist Anti-Shine Fresh Cleansing Oil a go, I demurred. I no longer use cleansing oils but I was pressed into it so I decided to pass it on to a long time user for her evaluation.

Porefinist is touted to be a very light textured blend of oils targeted at those with combination-oily skin, which not only cleans skin of makeup and oil but also minimizes the appearance of pores and reduces shine. I recall a similar pink version of the cleansing oil from previous years, called Fresh Cleansing Oil, if I’m not mistaken. So, I now hand you over to my buddy LeGeeque, who not only is a long time fan and user of the Shu Uemura cleansing oils, she is a long time use of the pink coloured Fresh cleansing oil, and will tell you about this and how it compares to the old version.

Let’s get some facts straight before we delve into the product. I’ve got dry and and sensitive skin. My major concerns are fine lines, ageing, premature ageing and sun damage. The final simply stems from my irrational fears that I’m not topping up my sunscreen as religiously as I should during the harsh Australian summer months. (According to the sun-worshipper locals I call mates, I am too sun-conscious but heck, what do these sun-worshippers know!)

New! Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF15/PA++ Liquid Foundation

I am a big big fan of Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector (or previously known as Derma White Clinical Brightening Serum) So big, I have a bottle on standby in case I run out as I’m wont to do any day now. I credit this Even Better serum for helping restore the clarity to my skin after recent events and I’m quite happy to stick to it. But I digress… because today, I’m here to tell you that Clinique has a new Even Better Makeup … which is liquid foundation! 😀

Actually, its new here in Malaysia and you can expect to see it on counters starting March 2012… which is now! 😀 I believe our friends overseas have already got access to the Clinique Even Better Makeup liquid foundation for a while. This product is a light to medium coverage liquid foundation that not only acts as a foundation, but also as skincare to take care of dark spots and imperfections in skin tone, with regular use. Being a big fan of the skincare already, naturally the makeup piqued my interest 😉

I have a bit of a list of stuff to tell you about *looks at list and shuts them in my new bookshelf/cupboard* but I’m putting them aside for this – the Sleek Makeup Berry Collection for Christmas 2011. Well, also because this is one of those limited edition things, I get to show you 3 berry-rific colours on my face at one go, and its almost Christmas! 😀

Wait till you hear how much this kit costs – a princely £9.99. No I did not misplace a decimal point. Its under £10 which makes it under RM50 and for 3 items, I’d say not bad at all!
