Working from Home: 6 Tips for a more productive experience

March 16, 2020 Paris B 3 Comments

If there’s one positive thing that’s come out of the current virus pandemic, it is this – working from home has become an acceptable option to going into the office.

WORK FROM HOME tips

I’ve always been an advocate of working from home. It is my belief that in this day and age of modern technology, it is possible to get work done at home, in our own time, without needing or going into the office. For some of us, this even means we can do away with a physical office and save on overheads. Granted, this applies to work that is done in an office, as opposed to other types of work that needs a physical presence.

What I have found interesting is that companies that might otherwise refuse employees the ‘work from home’ option, are now forced to impose it, for everyone’s health and safety. It’s a good test, in my view, of this system, and how effective it is.

I have been working from home for a few years now, and if you’re new to it, I have a few tips to share with you. And I always welcome discussion or your own experiences too! 🙂

Simplify your life – Downsize your wallet

March 13, 2020 Paris B 9 Comments

For most of my life, my approach to owning a wallet is thus – get the biggest one you can find, that can fit the most number of cards. You never know when it will come in useful.

In fact, when I bought my last wallet, I walked into the store and literally said this – “I’d like to see your biggest wallet that can fit the most number of cards!”

downsizing wallets

I was shown their largest model, that fit a whopping 16 cards, with multiple compartments for bills and notes and receipts, and I picked it up on the spot. It was a whopper, but it served me very well for well on 5 years.

Now, I use one that barely fits 6 credit cards, has just 1 compartment for bills and a little coin pouch. What changed? 😀

Spending responsibly: No beauty product is worth getting into debt for

March 2, 2020 Paris B 5 Comments

I don’t usually like getting on my high horse and talking about personal finance and spending, but a few things came across my radar in recent days, and I just felt an opinion brewing.

It happens.

I have opinions. Deal with it 😛

spending responsibly

What irked me was twofold – buying beauty products on an installment plan, and irresponsible financial advise I see on social media, even if given in jest or as a marketing tool.

The tint of colour in the new Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier ensures your kissing game won’t get messy!

February 14, 2020 Paris B 1 Comment

Some days, I’m all about bold lip colours. The bolder and brighter, the better!

Some days, I mellow and reach for tinted lip balms for just a hint of colour on lips. In fact, this is what I reach for most often these days, as I’m often pressed for time, and I’m busy trying to get a new, special project off the ground.

A new tinted lip balm that has come within my radar is the Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier Glow Revival Conditioning Balm that comes in 3 barely there shades.

Because today’s also Valentine’s Day, I might suggest that instead of going the whole way and vamping up with the red (for which I have a beautiful and legendary one to suggest) why not dial it down and go for something sweet instead, that won’t mess up when things get erm… steamy 😉
