Latest : Dermalogica FITE program, Vichy Essentielles Rose Skincare, Strivectin SD skincare, Diorshow 360 Mascara, Victoria Jackson makeup

January 29, 2011 Paris B 19 Comments

Saturday, Ladies! We made it through the week! 😀

I’m having a pre-Chinese New Year lunch with a bunch of friends today. Tossing “yee sang” for lots of good luck in the coming year yo! 😀 Are you out doing any last minute shopping? I was snapping up cookies and oranges at the last minute yesterday. Tiring business, preparing for Chinese New Year 😛

Anyway on with the programme!

Dermalogica FITE programme

dermalogica fite hero products

Dermalogica fights the good FITE (Financial Independance Through Entrepreneurship). Purchase any one of the 5 Dermalogica hero products in the special packaging shown and Dermalogica will donate US$1 to help provide microfinancing to up to 25,000 women worldwide. It is a step to help women be more independant and give them a leg up in their businesses. I think its a noble cause.

Its not an empty pledge because YOU the customer, will be the one who determines which field you want your fund to go to. There is a special bar code you key into the website at www.joinfite.org to redeem your contribution. Available at all Dermalogica distributors and Aster Spring salons nationwide, the 5 hero products are the Daily Microfoliant, PreCleanse, Skin Hydrating Booster, Total Eye Care and Intensive Eye Repair. If you are a Dermalogica user, there is no better time to give back and help another woman stand on her feet financially 🙂

Vichy Essentielles Rose Skincare range

vichy essentielles rose skincare

I like a few things from Vichy but I know some people think its a little pricey for something from the pharmacy. So Vichy has come up with an introductory range of essential skincare targeted at the budget conscious consumer 🙂 Infused with Rose polyphenols and paraben free it is a basic line of skincare for all skin types. Your first Vichy as it were. Prices are between RM20-40 which is terribly affordable!

Defying Time with Amway Artistry Time Defiance Skincare Range

January 20, 2011 Paris B 11 Comments

A couple of months back, I was given the opportunity to try some products from the Amway Artistry Time Defiance skincare range. I’m familiar with Amway – who isn’t? – and their Artistry skincare line, but I wasn’t familiar with most of the Artistry products because I’d never used it.

So the name is a bit of a give away there. Time Defiance. Its something to do with anti-aging isn’t it? And yes you’d be right. The promise is that of Timeless Beauty. Here’s a quick rundown on the products I tried and how I felt about them.

Artistry Time Defiance Range – Overall view

amway artistry time defiance skincare

My overall view is that this is a decent product range that is quite affordable, if you are an Amway member or can get it at member prices, and it really is decent skincare. Well its certainly more affordable than Creme L/X which was nice also but priced out of most people’s range. This is within a comfortable price range for anti-aging products. I did not experience anything life changing, but I did not react to the products either, except one. However, I found the scent of the products not to my liking 🙁 So if Amway could lighten or remove the fragrance element or just make it smell a little more pleasant, I think its a good range of skincare products. I do like the day moisturiser and skin refining serum so those are 2 products you can look at to try from the Time Defiance range.

Now, onto the individual products I tried and how they fare.

Whitening from the cellular level: Olay CelLucent White Cream and White Essence

January 13, 2011 Paris B 24 Comments

Quite a few months ago, I attended the launch of the new Olay White Radiance range with CelLucent technology. There were 2 main products they were launching – the CelLucent White Cream and the CelLucent White Essence.

review olay cellucent white radiance cream and essence

Like many women, I fight my freckles and pigmentation, in the hope to lighten them. With a promise that it would perform like that of a whitening injection (not that I’d ever experienced that), I was interested to see how the Olay White Radiance CelLucent line performed on my skin.

In a nutshell, I was disappointed. Find out why.

Save and Splurge: Night Repair Anti-Aging Serums and a recipe for glowing skin

January 5, 2011 Paris B 48 Comments

Usually in  the Save and Splurge edition, I show you one high end department store product and I tell you of a pharmacy/drugstore brand that might perform similarly.

In the night repair serum range, I found none in the drugstore category but that isn’t to say there aren’t any. I just found none that work as well as these two I will show you. But worry not! There is still a splurge and save element to it 😉 And I have a super potent skin glow boosting recipe to share too 😉

Splurge: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex RM290/50ml

The EL ANR serum (as its affectionately known) is an oldie and a goodie for me. It keeps my skin hydrated and I swear it does do some repair work. But there isn’t anything drastic to see in the skin. I like to call it the “maintenance serum”. One you use when you just want to start getting into anti-aging skincare but where you have no real concerns about sagging skin, deep lines, bad pigmentation etc. At RM290/50ml its a bit of a splurge. You can read my full review on the EL ANR serum here.
