Vitamin C

I love the Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence so much I almost did not want to tell you about it!

September 21, 2018 Paris B 54 Comments

I’d been debating for a while whether to spill the beans on one of my favourite Vitamin C serums to date.

On the one hand, there are some things I’d like to keep to my self, hugging it to my chest with a sly smile, knowing it’s my little secret. On the other hand, I’m a damn blogger, prone to sharing LOL!

So, I guess I’ll tell you about the Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence aka Melano CC Vitamin C Essence after all.

Melano CC, from what I understand, is a Japanese brand under the Rohto-Mentholatum umbrella (the same one that houses Hada Labo). If I’m not mistaken, they only have one range, which focuses on the use of Vitamin C.

I remember someone telling me about it once, a few years ago. It wasn’t until I came upon it in a pharmacy that I decided to pick one up to try. Yes, Melano CC is found in pharmacies (or drugstores) in Japan and in some other countries (but not yet Malaysia, unfortunately! So read on at your peril) Apparently, that’s changed! 🙂

Vitamin C is found in oranges but be warned, Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Super Booster smells nothing like oranges!

May 4, 2018 Paris B 21 Comments

I wouldn’t be a beauty blogger if I hadn’t heard about Paula’s Choice skincare. I’d come across it for years before I began blogging. But there have been various personal reasons that have prevented me from trying her products. Access is one, and ideologies are another. But hey, for the sake (or love) of Vitamin C serum, I put aside my prejudices and tried the Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Super Booster.

I first came across this one on Tine’s blog (come back Tine!) and I believe that she has been using Vitamin C serums long before I have. I am about 3/4 of the way through this bottle, and I think I’m finally able to form some sort of opinion about it.

The first thing I should note, is the scent. Oh, what an interesting scent it has! 😛

Zelens Power C High Potency Vitamin C Treatment Drops : The best Vitamin C serum I’ve ever used

February 5, 2018 Paris B 22 Comments

I think my header says it all. This Zelens Power C High Potency Vitamin C Treatment Drops is singularly, THE BEST Vitamin C serum I’ve ever used. It’s even dethroned the other Vitamin C serum that I swore by. It isn’t to say of course, that the Dr. Brandt one is no good. It is. But in a straight fight, I’d pick this Zelens one, in a heartbeat.

To be honest, I’ve been conflicted about telling you about this wonderful product for a long time. I’ve been using it for the most part of at least 5 months now. But I know that telling you about the Zelens Power C Treatment Drops (for ease of reference) means I’d have people moaning at me “It’s so expensive!” and I’d lose my secret to clearer, brighter skin LOL! 😀

Oh yes, selfish ol’ me 😛

As a fan of Vitamin C serum I just had to see if I would enjoy using the Sephora Luminizing Booster with Vitamin C

January 15, 2018 Paris B 15 Comments

I am quite a big fan of using Vitamin C serums, so when I was told by a few readers about the (then) new Sephora Luminizing Booster with Vitamin C, I was intrigued. It isn’t very expensive (relatively) and most people who have used it reported positive results with it.

Naturally, I was intrigued!

Incidentally, this is part of 3 different booster serums in the Sephora brand, and as you can expect, is only sold at Sephora stores or online. I have never used anything from the Sephora collection, so this is really the first time for me. I picked this up during one of the 20% sales – I’ve lost that privilege now I’m no longer a Black Card member! LOL Didn’t donate enough money to the Temple of Sephora 😛

The Sephora Luminizing Booster comes in a small bottle of just 20ml, and with slightly confusing directions of use. It claims to help improve dull skin, which is where the Vitamin C really comes it. It also claims to contain a high percentage of Vitamin C although it doesn’t quite say how much is “high”. But how did it fare for me, and is it something I’d use for the long term?
