When I need to replenish, restore and rejuvenate your skin, I look no further than the Oskia Restoration Oil

November 18, 2019 Paris B 13 Comments

This little break has been rather unscheduled, but necessary due to unavoidable circumstances, but things are looking up, so I now have a little more time to return to blogging!

And I’m going to return by telling you about one of my favourite products. One I’ve been meaning to tell you about for months, but never got around to.

Travel Skincare Tip: To protect and nourish your skin in-flight, pick an Overnight Mask instead of a Sheet Mask

April 22, 2019 Paris B 14 Comments

The one thing we all know about flying is this – it’s terribly exciting, and it dries you out to a husk.

For this reason, you are always advised to stay well hydrated, especially on long flights. Drink water regularly, at least once every hour, because airplane air is very very dry and drying both to your insides and to your skin.

In the past, and as I know many people still do, I’d get on board, rip open a sheet mask and leave it on to treat my skin in-flight. There will be the usual fun photos of you looking all scary, or pretending to scare your seat-mate. But really, I think that joke’s a little passé these days, now that sheet masks have become the norm.

airplane tips use overnight sleeping mask

Instead, after some experimenting in a few recent flights (4 hours and up) I have found THE BEST solution for your in-flight skin hydration regimen – and it’s not sheet masks! 😛

Travel Skincare Tip: Keeping up appearances on holiday or How to ace your base in low humidity

April 15, 2019 Paris B 14 Comments

I know many of you travel, and cooler climes are always a favourite destination, to escape from our infernal tropical heat and humidity. But how often do you travel somewhere cool, and then find that your skincare isn’t holding up, or that your skin starts to flake and dry out and break out? Worst of all, this happens even after you return home!

Not only is it uncomfortable, your makeup doesn’t look good whether in person or in holiday snaps.

travel skincare low humidity cool climate

Well, I most recently went on such a holiday.

It was cold and windy, and the humidity was laughably in single digits. I knew my skin would suffer. So I made the necessary preparations, and I can happily report that after a week, the skin on my body was dry and itchy as heck! But the skin on my face was not only comfortable and near perfect, my makeup went on well and looked so natural and amazing too! Yes, I’m preening LOL! 😀

So here’s some tips you should keep in mind when you travel from the hot and humid tropics to a cool, low humidity destination, and the products that helped me.
