I realize I’ve been a little tardy coming up with this post, and I do apologise if its not available at any Guerlain counter anymore. But I just had to blather on about it because you know me and my Meteorites. I love them and its no secret that I do 😀

The Meteorites Perles de Nuit are limited edition balls for Christmas 2011. Guerlain releases these special Meteorites once a year at Christmas although they may have one sprout up some time during the year. This year, in keeping with the whole teal theme, the tin is teal and the pearls offer a peachy shimmer that is very lovely. Well, if you are a fan like I am 🙂

I will warn however that for those averse to shimmer, the Perles de Nuit are a little more shimmery than the regular ones. The ratio of shimmer to matte pearls are 3:1 so that tells you something!

Does the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Extra Brightening Loose Powder deliver Brilliant Perfection?

I went for a workshop a while back to educate me on the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Brilliant Cells skincare series, which was where I was introduced to the Cyberwhite Brilliant Perfection Extra Brightening Loose Powder Transparent with SPF15/PA++ Whew! I’ll just call it the Cyberwhite Loose Powder from now.

I was allowed to try it, and I liked it so much, I went down to Isetan immediately to pick it up. (I also had a shopping voucher burning up in my wallet which I had to use anyway…) Its been a few months now and I’ve had a few queries about this one. The biggest question I’ve received is, how does this compare to Guerlain Meteorites? I’ll tell you 😉

I woke up early one morning, lumbered sleepily to the kitchen to boil water for a cup of coffee… and stepped into a puddle of water. Opening the cupboard under the sink unleashed a torrential waterfall. Apparently there was a leaky pipe dripping water into some pots under the sink, and it had overflowed. So instead of making coffee before I left, and taking time to dress and put on my face, I was left mopping and cleaning up the kitchen for about half an hour, leaving me about 10 minutes to get out the door and to work.

To add insult to injury, I had an early morning start and I had a long day to go so I had to have makeup that would last. Here’s how I got my makeup on in 8 minutes or so, and the products I used (and why I chose to use them) 🙂

Foundation – Clarins Everlasting Foundation (1) + I Nuovi Illumina Heaven (2) + loose powder (3) + Dior Skinflash (4) – 2 minutes

I chose the Clarins Everlasting foundation because I knew from experience that the medium coverage and long lasting power was what I needed. I added the I Nuovi Illumina to add glow to an otherwise flat foundation. Pumped 1.5 pumps of foundation into my palm, added a squirt of Illumina and applied it to my face quickly. Brushed on some Dior Skinflash concealer/highlighter on the undereye and I looked alive! Puffed some Lavshuca loose powder over to set and I was done in about 2 minutes. Patting on the loose powder helped set the liquid makeup and helped it last.

When I found out that the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite skincare line had undergone yet another revamp, my initial thought was “Eh? Again?!” You might remember the revamp last year. My 2nd thought was “I hope they’ve done something about the cleanser!” I tried it before under the original line and sadly didn’t like it. I did try the night cream from last year’s collection and I liked that – never got round to telling you about it before this revamp. Guess its too late now 😛

This year its all about the cells. The new incarnation of the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite range is Brilliant Cells which addresses barely visible spots, small surface spots, stubborn age spots and recurring spots – the 4 different types of spots commonly found in Asian skins. My favourite item however, which I immediately ran off to purchase, wasn’t a skincare item, strangely enough 😉
