Last weekend I attended a skincare workshop organized by Estee Lauder where I learnt something new from the Estee Lauder trainer, Geraldine. I rarely attend such workshops but I love discovering and learning new things. And naturally, here I am to share them with you! 😀
Today, we are going to learn a new way to apply sunscreen, which can also be used for applying BB cream! 😀
Ladies, I told you MWS readers are the best and I’m not wrong! 😀 When I posted my reivew on the Vichy Aera Mineral BB Cream yesterday, reader Jayie from Singapore asked how it might compare to the new Vichy Aera Teint Pure liquid foundation already released there. My response was that since we don’t have the Aera Teint foundation here right now, I can’t compare them both. But she did, complete with swatches and photos! What a darling! 😀 Here’s what she has to say about them, slightly paraphrased from her email to me.
I went to compare the Vichy BB Cream and liquid foundation at Watson’s. On your left is the BB cream and on your right is the liquid foundation in the shade Light Ocre 020 (the only sample available). The other shades available in the Vichy Aera Teint Pure liquid foundation are Pink Ocre 010, Dark Ocre 030 and the darkest colour in 040 (forgot the name, sorry!)
Can someone please pass the ketchup… or maybe chilli sauce. No, make that sambal. I need to eat my words re: not liking any BB creams.
Interestingly, right after I told you my reasons for not liking BB Creams, 3 new ones appeared on the market. I’ve told you that the Maybelline BB Cream is quite decent, for its price and today, I’m about to be made to eat my words again (!!) when I tell you that I might have found THE ONE. The BB cream I’d use over and over without complaint.

So why am I in love with the Vichy Aera BB Cream when I’ve bashed so many others before? The secret lies in the texture.
Never say never. It can turn around and bite you in the butt!
I am not a fan of BB creams for the many reasons I have set out in a previous post. But it doesn’t stop me trying new ones in the hope that perhaps there is one that might work without turning me into an oil slick, or making me look like a zombie or like I had a fake tan.
Interestingly, I might have found one that sort of works, in the form of the new Maybelline BB Cream. Actually its called the Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Instant Skin Perfecting Cream aka BB Cream – phew! Let’s just call it the Maybelline BB Cream k? 🙂
Now, I do not know enough about BB Creams to know if this is really one or not. I’ll just go by its name and the fact that it claims to address 8 skin concerns including skin brightening, evens out skin tone, covers imperfections, moisturizes skin and protects with SPF25 PA+++
