This is the best way to moisturize dry skin on the body

November 27, 2020 Paris B 12 Comments

When I started being outdoors a little more than usual, I noticed one thing aside from developing a tan.

The skin on my arms were very dry.

This is one of the side effects of having too much sun exposure, and is similarly something that happens to your facial skin as well, if you don’t treat it well – sunscreen, and a proper hydrating, moisturising skincare routine.

dry skin on the body

But how do you deal with the skin on your body drying out?

The skin on my arms were looking stretched and aged, and it was not pleasant, I can assure you!

Body creams helped, but I wasn’t noticing much improvement. And then, I remembered a tip I received way back in the past, from my early blogging days, and something clicked!

So I took a little unscheduled break

November 12, 2020 Paris B 28 Comments

Hello, friends.

Gosh. I’m not sure where to begin.

hello

As I said in the title of this post, I took an unscheduled break all through October, and intended to restart again in November. That was the plan.

But as with all best laid plans, it went awry and before I realised, November is half over!

As I have received many messages of concern as to whether I’d return to blogging (yes, I will), I figured that I owe you an explanation 🙂

So, hello! What’s been happening? 🙂

Do you stick with a skincare product you love despite its rising price tag?

September 14, 2020 Paris B 6 Comments

I had a little food for thought recently, about being loyal to a product despite its increasing price. It made me think about how much I’m willing to pay for skincare, in relation to how often and how much I use of it.

switch from expensive skincare product

I was asked if I was going to try the new iteration of the Shiseido Perfect UV sunscreen. (If you’re new here, you may not be aware of how many bottles of the original Shiseido Perfect UV sunscreen I’ve made people buy over the years! The answer is MANY! LOL!)

When I first introduced the Shiseido Perfect UV sunscren as my go-to sunscreen in the past, it was the perfect sunscreen. The consistency was just right, the formula was the perfect blend of physical and chemical blockers, and it protected my skin very well.

But 2 things made me stop using it. First, they changed the formula, and the new one (then, called Multi-Defense) sucked.

Second, the price kept going up, and my use of sunscreen increased due to my daily activities. I eventually stopped being loyal to the product, and looked for alternatives.

So, when I was asked recently if I might try and review the new Shiseido Perfect UV Protector with Wet Force x Heat Force, I knew what my answer would be.

5 Things I Love: Breezing through August

September 1, 2020 Paris B Leave a Comment

Hello Friends!

Just like that, August is over, and the year is entering its final third. Our borders remain largely closed, and we can’t leave the country so all travel plans are out the window.

While our lockdown isn’t as strict as it used to be, we are still offically under a Movement Control Order, which means masks must be worn when out, and we must record our attendance at any stores. Still, it does seem that things are back to normal, albeit, a little more inconvenient.

5 things august 2020

What this brings us to is my month-end ruminating on what I’ve enjoyed from the month before. For the most part, I think I’ve gotten used to not going out without purpose, and minimizing dining out. The latter is also due to my pup who can’t be left alone 🙁 Kind of miss eating my meals in situ as opposed to having to takeaway when we choose to eat out. Somehow, it doesn’t taste the same.

Oh well, here’s how August went down for me. Tell me yours!
