Facial

Escentials Urban Retreat @ Starhill Gallery Kuala Lumpur

October 15, 2009 Paris B 11 Comments

escentials

When I attended the REN Skincare workshop previously, part of the goody bag given was a voucher for a complimentary Decleor back massage at Escentials Urban Retreat at Starhill Gallery Kuala Lumpur. I’d forgotten about it until one day when I rediscovered the voucher while clearing my desk and it was just a couple of days to expiry! So, I booked myself into a slot one day and found myself standing on the Pamper Floor of the luxurious Starhill Gallery in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

I was asked if I wanted to top up money to a longer body massage but I declined. I was happy they did not push it or I might have gotten nasty. I was however feeling really tired so I opted instead for a Decleor facial. It is probably one of the most expensive facials I’d ever gone for – I paid something like RM268 or thereabouts. Question is, was it worth it?

The spa is a lot larger than I originally thought. It stretches all the way in which is nice because its so quiet in the waiting room while you sip your hot tea and wait for them to prepare your room.

Ask & Answer : Where can you have good facials in Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya?

ask us!

I missed my monthly facial yesterday! 🙁 It was due to work and the fact I could not make it back to the city in time for it in the evening. I was so looking forward to it too since it was a long day. That said, I quite enjoyed “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” last night – It is mindless and a little draggy in parts; a little funny in parts; a little touching but overall just a decent chick flick.

But on the subject of facials, we didn’t seem to find many good affordable places for facials in Melbourne last I asked. So lets try taking it a little closer to home.

Abby left a comment on the post as follows:-

Speaking about facials, I am wondering about the good ones in KL/PJ. Besides Clarins, Kanebo and Lancome. I am sure there are others. I hope others will share their knowledge too.

Sorry i have never been to Melbourne thus don’t know any. But it is good to know for when i go there!

We all know I love facials and I’m truly picky about my facial places. I have some places I go to regularly or which I have tried and liked.

Ask & Answer : Are there good places for facials in Melbourne?

ask us!

Friday! We made it through the week! 🙂

You, my dear readers, have not let me down yet with your useful suggestions over the past 2 weeks. So today, I need to pick your brains further.

Gal pal Geekchic from Melbourne, Australia asked in a previous comment:-

PB, I’m always game for good facials. Have you come across any good ones in Melbourne that does not cost an arm and a leg and my first born? 😛

Not being in Melbourne or even on the same continent as Geekchic, I found myself at a loss for an answer!

Clarins HydraQuench Cream Mask to Quench your Skin’s thirst

July 9, 2009 Paris B 25 Comments

Despite all the beauty articles we read, I know of quite a few women who still forsake using a daily moisturizer because they feel their skin don’t need it. Au contraire! In hot humid weather, our skin needs moisture more than ever because heat and sun are 2 of nature’s harshest environments.

Clarins has recognized this by introducing a few new products in the Clarins Hydraquench range for introducing and locking in moisture in the skin.

There is already a Hydraquench range but a couple more new products that are already out on the shelves will supplement things further. The key ingredient in the Hydraquench range is the Katafray bark from Madagascar – it was discovered to help raise moisture levels and is now cultivated and used exclusively in Clarins’ Hydraquench range of products.

One of my favourites is the Clarins Hydraquench Cream Mask for dehydrated skin (RM135/75ml).
