Review: Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

I don’t regularly use deodorant or anti-perspirant. Sorry… Is that TMI (Too Much Info)? LOL… Reason is mainly because I don’t feel the need to as I don’t have over active sweat glands nor BO <- at least I hope not 😛 and I grew up with the scare of breast cancer linked to deos etc.

However, recently I was offered to try the new Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth deodorant which is launching in the USA in May 2009.

Unlike other deodorants I’m used to seeing, the Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth tube is large. At 74g, much larger than normal. Definitely not something you can tote around in your purse. I wonder why they made it so large.

Its a deodorant stick that goes on with a dry feel. I like that. I don’t want to walk around with my arms stuck out at right angles to my body waiting for my deodorant to dry before I can put on my clothes 😛

The “Visibly Smooth” in the name refers to the pro-epil complex to help you feel stubble free for longer. Really? The sceptic in me raised an eyebrow.

I don’t normally come down hard on products because I know they are a matter of personal preference but Bloop de Paris bath bombs seriously bombed big time for me!

The bath bombs are large globes that come in different flavours and colors. I picked up Lavender (blue) and Rose (pink) for RM14.90 each. I’ve never felt anything more undeserving of my money 🙁

Firstly the scent is strong. I’m fine with strong scents but it smelt fine at the store and later took on a very chemical smell when I took it home – like chemicals in a lab. It was cloying and I had to hide the bag or gag everytime I passed by where I stored it.

Biotherm has a new product launching in April 2009 – the Biotherm Celluli Laser Intensive Night cream (RM160 for 200ml). Its to complement the existing Biotherm Celluli Laser cream for the day (pink tube).

To combat cellulite, one of the main ingredients of the Biotherm Celluli Laser cream is caffeine. Caffeine, if you have read my earlier treatise on the benefits of coffee helps push the water out of fat cells thereby reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Biotherm’s Celluli Laser Intensive Night cream is tailored to work while you sleep, which is probably the best time because your body is at rest. I ran into a bit of a problem while test running this cream however. I don’t have an obvious cellulite problem. Yes, I count my lucky stars everyday 😛 So without the problem, I found I cannot quite comment on its cure – sadly enough. But there were some unexpected benefits experienced.

How to properly Lather up your facial wash

Do you sometimes find that your foaming face wash does not foam up nicely nor does it create a nice thick lather? When you wash your face, do you just quickly create some bubbles and then proceed to wash your face thinking that is sufficient lather? Do you find yourself preferring to use the mousse type or self-foaming facial washes because it feels so much softer on your skin?

Well, I used to until recently, when I was taught how to properly lather up a facial wash.
