At the pinnacle of the Caudalie skincare range sits Premier Cru, a range of skincare targeted at those who find themselves needing a little more help in the aging department.
Recently relaunched, the Caudalie Premier Cru range promises to not only be more effective at slowing down the signs of aging on skin, they say they’ll reverse it!
Now that’s quite a claim! 🙂
Inspired by epigenetic science, Caudalie and Dr. David Sinclair, a genetics professor at Harvard Medical School, have co-patented a technology which stimulates youth proteins in the skin and corrects the 8 signs of ageing. They call this TET8.
TET is an enzyme which is identified as enabling skin ageing to be reversed. I was quite intrigued by this and did some reading online, which baffled me for the most part, but which helped me understand a little (You can read about it yourself here, here and here) Essentially, the TET enzyme does pay a little role in reversing biological age at a genetic level.
I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% certain that a topical application of a product will suffice to reverse signs of aging, but those are the claims, so I’ll present them as they were told to me 😛
The products in the Premier Cru line contain the exclusively patented combination of Honokiol, a molecule eco-extracted from Magnolia, and Resveratrol which acts on the TET enzyme as well as on the skin’s youth proteins for an anti-ageing result.
This results in the ‘reversal’ of 8 signs of aging:
- Reduced wrinkles
- Fine lines are smoothened
- Dark spots are reduced
- Complexion is evened
- Firmness is improved
- Elasticity is improved
- Skin is plumped
- Skin is intensely nourished
In a nutshell, skin is more plumped, clearer and smoother. What everyone wants, basically!
The new Caudalie Premier Cru range has been streamlined to just 3 key products – a serum, a cream moisturiser, and an eye cream. The creams come in 2 textures, and are packaged in a capsule jar that you can replace. The jars and packaging can all be recycled, as part of Caudalie’s eco-conscious effort.

Caudalie Premier Cru – The Serum RM520 | US$139
Promising a tightening effect in just 3 minutes that lasts up to 6 hours, The Serum plumps up skin with low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, and firming sugars to give the tightening effect on skin.
The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid for intense hydration, viniferine that corrects dark spots, and TET8 technology.
The texture is rich yet light, and absorbs beautifully into the skin without any greasiness or stickiness.
Caudalie Premier Cru – The Cream RM495 | US$129
The Cream is a rich moisturiser that feels lush on skin and absorbs beautifully, leaving skin with a beautiful finish. I won’t peg this for someone with oily skin, but for someone with drier skin, it feels lovely. It comes in a recyclable glass jar, and a capsule that can be popped out and replaced with refills.
Caudalie Premier Cru – The Eye Cream RM295 | US$85
An eye cream that does not only plump up skin around the eyes and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, it has a pearlescent effect so the eye area looks brighter and less tired too! Now how about that – a skincare product that acts like makeup!
The applicator is a lovely cool, smooth, metal that you can run over the eye area to reduce puffiness and refresh tired eyes. It is quite lovely.
To be honest, I’m primarily interested in The Serum and The Cream. I’m notoriously bad at using eye creams, as I’m lazy and forgetful so I’m not sure how long I’d be able to use it to see any results before I fall off the bandwagon. That said, I might have to face the public a little more in time to come, so perhaps keeping my eye bags and shadows in check would be a good idea LOL! 😛
