What do you reckon you can do in 30 minutes?
Make a sandwich? Cook a quick meal? Repair and soothe dry skin?
It’s that last one that I’ve found myself needing more now, because dry skin is something that’s beginning to plague me not only on my face, but over the body as well. This more so, on my hands, which are now more exposed to washing, cleaning detergents and sanitizers.
Rosken Skin Repair is a brand not unfamiliar to me. My dad swore by it for healing cracked heels in the past, so when the opportunity arose for me to revisit, I was happy to! 🙂 Here are 3 ways I use it.
Moisturize skin before bed to wake up with soft skin
My evening skincare routine does not stop at my face! Right before I settle in with my book of the evening, I take a few minutes to moisturize my hands, arms and legs. I only used to apply hand cream before bed (the hands do reflect your age acutely after all!). However, ever since my lifestyle moved towards spending more time outdoors, I realised that my arms and legs were feeling (and looking) incredibly dry and parched from sun exposure. If you sleep in an air-conditioned room, you may notice this too.
What is nice about the Rosken Skin Repair Dry Skin Cream is that it absorbs quickly, and isn’t sticky or greasy, so there’s no fear of messing up your sheets. The pump bottle comes in useful for bed-side use too! There is a slight powdery scent, which dissipates very quickly and does not irritate my nose.
The key ingredients are olive oil extract, naturally packed with antioxidants and moisture boosting squalene, and dimethicone, which forms a barrier on the skin surface to block water loss, and to give a smooth silky feel. The formula balances itself well, so it is a rich lotion-cream that is light on skin, without feeling suffocating or leaving you feeling like a greased ball.
The best part about this little routine is waking up to skin that feels soft and moisturized in the morning, and really, who doesn’t want that? 😉
Rub cream into your heels to soften dry skin
While I don’t normally suffer from cracked heels, I have noticed that my heels are decidedly drier now. In my case, this is primarily due to wearing slippers more than covered shoes (which exposes your feet more), and friction from daily walking (3km a day with an active pup is no joke!)
Remembering what my dad swore by, I’ve taken to rubbing a dab of the Rosken Skin Repair Dry Skin Cream into my heels nightly. It is quite emollient, so it spreads easily, and importantly, absorbs easily too.
If you want to be a little extra, apply a slightly thicker layer, and wear some old socks to bed. The cream goes to work to repair and soothe dry skin in 30 minutes, by forming a protective layer to seal in skin moisture, and the sock helps you physically keep the moisture in. You don’t need the socks of course (I don’t coz I don’t like things on my feet unless it’s extremely cold!), just rub in the cream, let it absorb and it helps soften the skin on my heels.
Rub cream into the cuticles of your fingers to keep them looking healthy and moisturized
Aside from my usual desk work, I’m also now a baker for dogs! 😀 I make delicious dog biscuits almost every other day, and as every baker or cook can attest, washing and cleaning up can be murder on your hands and nail cuticles.
What I like to do, after I’ve baked and cleaned up the kitchen and baking equipment for the day, is to take a few minutes to myself to have a breather, and to rub a dab of the Rosken Skin Repair Dry Skin Cream into my hands and cuticles.
It goes to work almost immediately to quickly soften the skin on my hands, and helps my cuticles remain healthy and moisturized, instead of drying out and peeling. I swear, dishwashing detergent is tough on grease, and on hands, no matter what is promised!
What are the ways that you use the Rosken Skin Repair Dry Skin Cream?
While many of us focus on our face, very often, we forget that the skin on the rest of our bodies need and deserve as much attention and care too. Something affordable that you can easily pick up from pharmacies is always helpful, because you’re then less likely to stint on application 😉

This librarian would like to know what book you’re currently reading before going to bed 😀 My night time routine is very similar, but I live in a much colder climate so I look forward to putting on socks after I massage some lotion onto my feet.

Am currently reading a book by Ann Cleeves, a crime thriller, which is my genre of choice. It’s quite fascinating, as I love where it’s set – the Shetlands, which is a place so remote and so unique, you just don’t know or read much about it. The pacing and writing isn’t the best, but her descriptions of the wild scenery is what keeps me reading still haha! Socks in bed in cold weather is the best!
