I’ve been meaning to share about Natura products for a while, but something else keeps getting in the way, but nothing – and I mean NOTHING – will get in the way of me telling you about the Natura Ekos Murumuru Shampoo and Conditioner.
NOTHING!
Regular readers may realise that I don’t talk a lot about hair care products. The real reason, if you’ve engaged with me for any length of time, is that I am very blessed with very obedient hair, with lots of volume, that doesn’t get fazed by my throwing anything at it.
I could use something simple and basic from the pharmacy, or I could go all fancy and whack on brands like Sachajuan, which I had been using for a while prior. Just prior to this, I was using up a giant bottle of Sukin shampoo and conditioner. Decent and good value, but nothing much to write about to be honest 😛
When I was moving on, I fished the Natura Ekos Murumuru Shampoo and Conditioner out of the depths of my cupboard, and within one use, fell in love.
Natura Ekos Murumuru Shampoo & Conditioner
Natura is a brand of natural based products, that hails from Brazil. You don’t read much about it as they’re only just starting to be sold outside of the country, but I’m told that in Brazil, it is quite a big and popular brand.
They focus on ingredients that are sourced from the Amazon, and that includes some that we may have never heard of nor experienced. They are also a natural brand and entered our local Malaysian market about 2 years ago.
Murumuru is a plant that is native to the Amazon rainforest, and the butter which is extracted from the murumuru seeds is used as a moisturiser, and is nourishing to skin and hair. Not only does it moisturise hair, it protects and softens hair.
The Natura Ekos Murumuru range is targeted at those with frizzy hair, and that is a problem I sometimes face. I have obedient hair, but I can tell you that the pandemic has made my hair grow long, thick and frizzy, as I haven’t been able to get regular haircuts. So, my hair is now at the longest it’s been for years!
I also shower about twice (or sometimes 3 times) a day now, and regular hairwashing has made my hair frizzy. So it was a good time to try this shampoo.
Hair is instantly softened!
I hate using words like ‘instant’, but in this case, it is not a hyperbole.
My hair was quite literally instantly softened the minute I used the product! The shampoo is light, and does lather up a little. It cleans my hair and scalp without leaving any residue, and makes my hair relatively tangle-free even without using a conditioner after that.
When I use the conditioner however, a comb can quite literally fall through my hair!
It feels impressively soft, frizz-free and tangle-free. It is very nice! 😀
I got my friend to try it, and he couldn’t believe his hair either. It’s just lovely and soft. While my hair is still unruly thanks to lack of maintenance, it doesn’t look like I have a helmet on either, cos there is movement now.
I wash my hair each time I shower, but I only use the conditioner once a day just so my hair doesn’t get TOO soft LOL 😛
Nice earthy scent
I also like the nice earthy scent of the Natura Ekos Murumuru shampoo and conditioner. It is actually quite strong, and it lingers on the hair all day, so your hair smells lovely and fresh (if you like the scent).
I do find that the conditioner has a stronger smell that lasts longer, so using both shampoo and conditioner together will have your head smelling quite fragrant. A surprise the first time I used it, as I used it in the evening, and went to bed smelling perfumed. It even smells lovely the next morning!
But I do find the smell a little strong for my preference, so I use a little less product. Just a coin-size of shampoo and conditioner, and it’s enough to clean my hair and scalp and condition my hair. So I get the perfect amount of scent too.
What I’d say is that if you struggle with hair that is dry and frizzy, that can sometimes look like you’re wearing a helmet, or if you have naturally curly or wavy hair, you will love how the Natura Ekos Murumuru products work on your hair right from the get-go. I’m so besotted with this, I placed an order for another set almost immediately just so I won’t run out! 😛
Now, if that isn’t some sort of endorsement, I don’t know what is 😛
IN A NUTSHELL
The Natura Ekos Murumuru Shampoo and Conditioner is a moisture-rich product that suits dry, frizzy and naturally curly and wavy hair. If your hair feels unruly, easily tangled, stiff and hard, then you will love this one, because I have hair like that and I love it! Right from first use, my hair feels soft and untangled. It falls nicely, and feels clean and healthy. I love the earthy scent that smells shot through with vanilla, and it lingers on your hair, so you smell fresh and clean. I wash my hair daily, sometimes twice a day, but my hair doesn’t feel weighed down at all. It rinses out clean, and is very nice. I do note that it contains sulfates, which I know some people dislike. I’m fairly ambivalent towards SLS, but I do note that this doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry which could be to do with the way the product is formulated, and the moisturising properties of murumuru butter that counters it. Either way, I love it, and I already have backups in place, and I can forsee myself using this for a while to come.

Have you tried the Natura Ekos Murumuru Shampoo and Conditioner? Or other haircare products from Natura?
I do enjoy using Natura products, and I think their quality is excellent. It feels like The Body Shop (they own TBS) but just feels a little nicer. I’ll be sharing more of the products soon – too good not to! 🙂
