Absolutely blown away by the CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum – you’d be too!

July 26, 2021 Paris B 5 Comments

Let me preface this by saying that I haven’t used a Vitamin C serum in about 3, or maybe even 4, months. So, I’m quite primed to notice any difference in my skin when I reintroduce this star ingredient into my skincare routine with the CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum.

I try to mention things like this, because my personal belief is that it’s impossible for every new product you add into your routine to make your skin better each time. At some point, it will reach its optimum, and it then becomes maintenance.

When I popped open this new tube of the CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum, it was quite an exciting thing for me haha! 😀 I haven’t been excited about new skincare for a while!

There are a few unique points about this product that I found interesting, and also to watch out for (so you don’t make the mistakes I did!) and I think these unique factors help this product be a better one. Let me explain 😉

The natural and organic Evolve Organic Beauty Daily Renew Facial Cream made a huge difference to my skin!

July 19, 2021 Paris B 1 Comment

This is the second item I’ve tried from Evolve Organic Beauty, and like the first, I love it! Oh, is that a bit of a giveaway? LOL!

Regardless, I put the Evolve Organic Beauty Daily Renew Facial Cream into my routine at a time when my skin was going bonkers, and it reminded why I had to be careful to use a product that was suited for my skin type. I had been rather lax in the weeks and months before this.

I don’t know whether to blame malaise or just some form of stress, but I was at a point when I wasn’t quite caring about what I put on my face, as long as I put something on it. That was the root of my problem. I was being lazy, and trying take the easy way out, and my skin suffered as a result.

When I woke up one day, and decided that I had to be more careful and diligent, things started getting better. And I do have this cream to thank 🙂

My first Glow Recipe product is the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask (and it might be my last)

July 13, 2021 Paris B 2 Comments

I will not deny that I purchased the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask purely out of curiousity. Most sleeping masks usually target hydration problems, and I was curious as to how the retinol in it might work (or not) and more importantly, if it would sting, as products with retinol are wont to do.

Glow Recipe makes these cute little products that are aesthetically pleasing, but few of them, if any, have caught my eye. I believe that they are inspired by the whole Korean skincare trend, and took their own spin on things by using fruits as the basis of their ingredients. But I guess pastel coloured lotions and gels just didn’t appeal to my senses.

However, I was curious enough to try their new Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask! 😀

Is it maskne or is it just poor eating habits? 3 ways I treated my maskne problem

July 7, 2021 Paris B 2 Comments

OK, that’s a bit click-baity isn’t it?

I’m not discrediting those with maskne of course. Maskne or mask-acne is a real problem. Thanks to the daily and constant wearing of face masks throughout this pandemic, our skin is being rubbed raw, getting clogged and breaking out around our mouths and chin areas. It’s like we want to protect ourselves, but our skin hates being confined (and who can blame it really!)

That was the problem I had about a month ago.

how i deal with maskne

I was wearing masks for slightly longer than I usually do (or so I thought) and noticed a spot or two pop up. Thinking nothing of it, I went on as usual, masking up whenever I went out, washing my face as normal, just doing everything as normal (so I thought). Yet, the acne got worse and worse.

I had about 4 HUGE cystic acne going on at once around my chin. My chin area was a mess of whiteheads and blackheads and all sorts of heads in between LOL! It was a mess.

I was puzzled. I’d scaled my skincare back. I’d kept everything basic. Yet, it wasn’t getting better.

One day, I had a thought. What if it’s not 100% a problem with wearing masks, or my skincare. What if it was something else, like poor eating habits?

Well, since then, save for the odd spot I still get, which I know is thanks to wearing masks, the most serious of the acne is gone! Here’s the changes I put in effect that did the magic.
