I’m melting all over the Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt – Such a lovely product!

April 26, 2021 Paris B 2 Comments

I had to share this new discovery with you, coz I love it so much! I stumbled on the brand Evolve Organic Beauty online one day, and was quite intrigued both by their esthetic as well as their products and price point. It was fairly reasonably price by my books.

I picked up a few items, but the first I dug into, and immediately fell in love with, was the Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt. It is such a delight use, and feels so amazing on the skin!

Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt

The Gentle Cleansing Melt is tailored for normal to dry skin, and is incredibly nourishing. On my packaging, it says that it is for all skin types. But when I checked the website, it appears that they have now changed it so it better reflects the type of skin it’s best suited for. Personally, if I had oily skin, I would struggle with this product.

Their key ingredient is baobab oil, which is an ingredient I’ve personally found very beneficial for my skin. It isn’t an ingredient you see used very often, but when I see it in the ingredients list, I usually know that this is one my skin will love.

Baobab oil is very nourishing to skin and improves skin elasticity as well as being rich in anti-oxidants and protects skin from free radical damage. They also include vanilla for its anti-oxidant properties, as well as for the smell.

Interesting texture – like a solid oil

What I found amazing at first, when I first opened the jar, was the texture. I expected a balm-like texture, but what you get is a melty texture, rather like a solid oil. The colour is clear, but looks white in the jar, and it has an oil-balm texture. Very interesting, and very unique.

I think you can see what I mean by the texture of the product. It scoops out a little like a sticky jelly-jam 😀

Lovely natural scent

My jar smells of fresh roses, rather like that of a rose syrup drink. It makes me crave a tall ice-cold glass of ‘air bandung’ every time I use it 😛 I like how it smells fresh and natural. Not overly scented, but just scented enough. It reminds me of Turkish Delight 😀

Emulsifies with warm water

I use this in the evening, as my first cleanse. I usually scoop out a little, and melt it between my palms. The warmth of your skin will make the texture rather melty, and you will feel a thick oily slip between your hands.

Use it with dry hands and on dry skin, and massage it all over. I use it every evening, and sometimes, in the morning too to remove my mineral sunscreen. After massaging judiciously over my skin for a minute or two, I then add some warm water to slowly emulsify it.

Repeat this for a few times, properly emulsifying before rinsing off. While it rinses fairly clean, I do notice that it feels like a slight film left on your skin. If you use a face flannel to remove, it removes it more quickly and efficiently. However, your skin will still have a slight feeling like a light layer of oil over it. It doesn’t bug me, but it might bug someone who isn’t as comfortable with this feeling.

One more for the texture, because I love it! I often find myself gazing at it before scooping it out to cleanse my skin

Skin feels clean and nourished

Unlike most cleansing balms or oils that clean your skin but may leave it feeling a little stripped, the Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt doesn’t.

It cleans skin a treat (general cleanse – I haven’t been wearing much makeup, and it removes very light makeup well) and when clean, my skin feels impressively nourished. I love it!

I think I enjoy using it more for the sensorial experience than for its cleansing abilities, as I have any number of cleansing balms and oils that can do the latter. But the sensorial experience with this one cannot be beat!

The whole translucent oil-jelly texture, the beautiful smell of fresh roses, underlaid with the warm sweetness of vanilla, and the lovely luxurious slip I get between my palms, as well as on my face makes this a perfect little package. I don’t have to use very much either each time.

IN A NUTSHELL

The Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt is a beautifully luxurious oil-jelly texture, that feels luxurious like a thick oil on the skin. It is enriched with baobab oil and vanilla, and infused with the fresh scent of roses. It is a delight to use at the end of a long day, the lovely scent wafting onto your skin as you massage the oils over your face to remove the dirt and debris. Massage it in for a few minutes, then emulsify gently with warm water before rinsing. Skin is lovely and clean, feeling moisturised and nourished. I don’t even feel the need for a second cleanse some days. A showstopper of a product.

CONS:
None

WHO WILL LIKE THIS: Anyone with normal-dry skin who enjoys using a cleansing balm

Thanks for the brand recommendation. I tried my cleansing melt today and really enjoyed it the texture. It left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated.
Luckily I bought 3 other products from them (toner, serum and moisturiser) which I have been using for about a week . Im loving it so much!
    Thanks once again!

An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to stay on” look 😅 Super simple and using stuff I already own. How many do you recognise? 😅

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

The review for the product is somewhere on the blog mywomenstuff.com
Yes I know many of you are terrified of lizards 🦎🫣

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
