Keeping it simple, natural and glowy with the new Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear

Les Beiges is the only makeup collection I look forward to each year, without fail. While it’s not the most exciting of makeup products, it suits me – simple, basic, neutral. Yet, there is often nothing very simple, basic or neutral about it. Often, the products impress me, even when they don’t impress others. I suppose it comes down to personal preferences.

This is true of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. Launched in 2016 (where I tried and reviewed it), and then quietly disappearing, only be relaunched last year in the middle of a pandemic when most people were in lockdown and not leaving houses, ergo, not putting on makeup.

I still don’t go out very much, and I don’t do video calls, so putting on makeup has been something that I haven’t gotten down to doing.

But when I did deign to wear any makeup at all, I gave the new Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear a try, and I was blown away. This was even better than its predecessor!

Going local and trying out an affordable Malaysian brand – The Raw Daily Ceramide Moisturiser

I’m usually quite fussy about buying skincare from brands I’m unfamiliar with, or that I’ve never heard of. This more so, when it’s a local brand, for I’ve come across far too many horror stories of repackaged products in the market. I tend to be terribly wary, even if I want to be supportive of a local brand.

I came across The Raw, a local Malaysian brand, through a friend on Instagram, who was very effusive with her praise for the products she had tried. It intrigued me enough to take a second look at what they had to offer.

First off, if anyone from the brand is reading this, I’d suggest setting up a website for the brand. As it stands, the only place you can get any information about their products is through their Instagram account, and even then, there is very little information about the brand itself. Facebook is merely a collection of their Instagram posts, and there is nowhere on the internet where I can read about the brand, its ethos and the products. For me, this is usually a big turn-off. If I can’t find information about a product or brand easily, I skip it. I only persevered this time, because I trusted my friend!

When I was setting up my brand, the first thing we did was to secure our domain name, and put up a website. We wanted a single place for people to get information about our brand, what we sell, why we do it, and all the information they may need about the brand and our products. It’s so important to have your own space, so I usually have very little patience or give much credibility to brands that don’t have a website.

As you can see, there was a lot of trust I gave in this instance, to try a product from a brand I’d never heard of, and might never trust at the best of times 😛 So, how did I fare with The Raw Daily Ceramide Moisturiser, then? 🙂

Be kind to your wallet and to your skin when you indulge in the Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser

Ever since I discovered how much better a cream cleanser was for my skin, as opposed to a gel or foaming type cleanser, I’ve always been on the lookout for new (and affordable!) cream cleanser options.

I’d tried the normal Sukin Cream Cleanser in the past, and throughly enjoyed using it. However, when I saw that there was a version with a pink label, I was curious.

I picked up the Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser a little while ago, finished it recently, then remembered I had to share how much I enjoyed using it! 😀

It’s probably no secret that I’m a fan of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. I know it’s not everyone’s favourite, and I often get people telling me they don’t understand why I like it, or that it is overpriced.

But it’s a product that’s consistently worked for me, and it’s one that I find pleasure in using. So really, it should just be that – different products work for different people!

Some time last year, the iconic little brown bottle underwent another reformulation. Truth to tell, I’ve lost count. I think the last one was the Synchronized Recovery Complex II? Or am I mistaken?

Anyway, the new version of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum is now called Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex, and I was kindly gifted a bottle a long while ago to have a go. Yes, I’m tardy, it’s a flaw 😛

I was curious just how the reformulation (if that) might make this iconic serum feel any different on skin, especially since I haven’t used it for a while.
