Usually, when the year end comes around, it is a time for a bit of a breather. That little pause as people go on leave, throng the malls to enjoy the Christmas decorations, and spend time with loved ones while shopping up a storm – the sales! Oh, the sales!
This year, it’s all different of course.
This year, everyone feels a little more uncertain, staying at home has taken on new meaning (and stress, for parents especially!) and shopping has mostly gone online.
The sales! Oh the online sales! HAHA 😛
Well, I wouldn’t blame you for wanting something a little more indulgent than normal this year. Goodness knows, you’ve earned it! So, here’s a glimpse of something sweet from Laura Mercier, for the festive season.
I was kindly gifted some bath and body items from the Laura Mercier Ballet à Paris Holiday Collection 2020. Perhaps they realize that this year, above all, we need a little self-pampering after everything we’ve gone through! 😀
Ambre Vanille Luxe Body Collection – RM365 | £75 | US$95
Laura Mercier bath and body products are lushly scented with rich gourmand scents that are an indulgent treat for your noses, and linger on your skin.
If a sweet, enveloping scent of vanilla, tempered with a slight warmth of amber is your thing, then the Ambre Vanille Luxe Body Collection will be right up your alley.
As I have noted last year, sweet gourmand scents aren’t quite my thing. But then, neither is cake or dessert, so it isn’t discriminatory, merely a personal preference 😀
This year, seeing as to how everything has turned upside down and on its head, perhaps what I’d do is turn the air-conditioning way down low, draw the curtains, light up some candles, shower in the Ambre Vanille Cream Body Wash, slather on some of that lush Ambre Vanille Body Cream, spritz a little Ambre Vanille fragrance in the air, and snuggle on the couch with a mug of warm cocoa while watching a Hallmark Christmas movie.
Or perhaps, more practically, I’d gift this on to someone who I know will appreciate sweet gourmand scents like this more than I do 😀
WHERE TO BUY: Laura Mercier stores, SpaceNK, Cult Beauty,
Laura Mercier Hand Cream Quartet – RM169 | £34
I have here 3 of the mini hand creams in the Hand Cream Quartet, which is a most apt gift for anyone this year, if you’re at your wit’s end.
With all the handwashing we’ve been doing and the hand sanitizer we’ve been using up this year, some hand-pampering is really what we need.
The Hand Cream Quartet comprises 4 mini tubes of hand cream in 4 iconic Laura Mercier scents – Ambre Vanille, Fresh Fig, Creme Brulee and Almond Coconut.
Again, the scents are primarily sweet and gourmand, which appeals to many and might even be appreciated, since we’re all wearing masks these days, and can sometimes barely smell anything. The scents are strong enough to permeate the masks.
While the scents aren’t quite my cup of tea, the texture of Laura Mercier hand creams are lush. I’ve used enough over the years to know that they are beautifully formulated, and soften hands a treat.
Are gourmand scented body products your thing?
I’m not really a fan, but I know of many who are. I don’t mind them in the shower though, even if it leaves me feeling a little peckish for cake before bed LOL! 😀

Oh wow the hand cream quartet is such a PERFECT gift for anyone this year! ?
I admit I’m not a biggest fan of gourmand scented body products (Coconut-scented lotion? Reminds me too much of santan! Good on my plate, not on my skin) But I can handle yummy-scented palms since we wash em often these days.

Yes, coconut reminds me too much of food, and I’m not sure I like going around smelling of food (Eau de Mamak anyone? Haha!)
