The Hada Labo+ Sensitive Skin Creamy Wash lets you go easy on your wallet and your skin

June 16, 2020 Paris B 3 Comments

I’m a little confused by the Hada Labo+ Sensitive Skin range. I cannot seem to find much, if any, information online about it. Yet, it became available only just slightly over 6 months ago.

hada labo plus sensitive skin creamy wash

Having been previously burnt by the launch of a new product that I found impressive enough to share my thoughts about, only to find that it was quietly discontinued just less than 6 months later, it’s natural that I’m a little wary about new products.

My principle since, is to only talk about new products at least 3-4 months after they’re launched, both to allow me to gauge availability of the product and to allow me a decent period of product testing. I think it’s only fair to you!

Long story short, I am quite impressed by the Hada Labo+ Sensitive Skin Creamy Wash, and I hope that it’s not a product nor a range that’s going anywhere any time soon.

Best of all, it’s so affordable! That’s a good thing to hear right? 😀

Replacing my expensive body cream with the much more affordable and even more effective Cerave Moisturizing Cream

June 11, 2020 Paris B 3 Comments

I’ve become quite a fan of Cerave skincare. It’s simple and gentle, and generally affordable. There’s nothing more you want really, when it comes to skincare in general!

cerave moisturizing cream with pump

When the whole pandemic started and we were all cautioned to wash our hands with soap often and apply hand sanitizer, I found myself facing a problem I never had to face before – dry hands.

While I found a hand cream I found very effective, I also purchased a tub of the Cerave Moisturizing Cream, which I intended to use as a hand and body cream. I needed to find a replacement for my usual standard cream from L’Occitane.

And I did! 😀

Skincare Empties I used up during quarantine: 7 I will repurchase and 2 I will not

June 8, 2020 Paris B 6 Comments

Being in quarantine or lockdown has been good for skincare enthusiasts. It’s forced us to take a long hard look at what we own and use, and actually use it. That’s one positive thing to come out of this!

skincare empties

I’ve been quite good at using up my skincare in the past year or so, so it wasn’t too hard for me to amass a bunch of empty bottles and tubes in the time that our movement was restricted.

Usually, I’d just use them up, make a mental note whether I like them, and quickly forget about them as I move on to the next new item. But this time, I gave it a little more thought.

I had to, because it is now a little more complicated buying skincare from abroad, and I wanted to see if what I enjoyed using was available locally, or if I might have to bite the bullet and try my luck with an online purchase.

So, here are 10 items I emptied out that I felt were worth a mention. There are 8 I’d repurchase, and 2 I will not 🙂

Pick your causes – You cannot care about everything so care about what matters

June 5, 2020 Paris B 7 Comments

Much has been happening in the world lately. It’s almost as if the events of the past few years have been slowly boiling over, and we’ve now reached a tipping point of humanity. The point where we either move forward with different, hopefully better and renewed purpose and principles in life, or we retreat behind walls in fear and loathing.

The thing is this. Much is happening. A. LOT.

pick your causes

We had the medical virus that spread like wildfire throughout the world, resulting in many countries going into lockdown and quarantine.

We had political viruses take root in our local politics, unseating a democratically voted Government, purely for selfish illusions of grandeur, not for the betterment of the country or its people.

We’ve had international politics grip us at every turn – India, China, USA, UK – just to name a few.

And then, we’ve had the riots begin in the USA, sparking off a race debate globally.

And all that’s only the tip of the iceberg. There’s immigration, police brutality, migrant workers, plastic straws, the list is endless.

There is much to take in. But I have just one thing to say – pick your causes. You cannot care about everything and you should not expect EVERYONE to care about EVERYTHING, and especially not so on social media.
