Let the French boost skin hydration the natural way with the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

April 23, 2020 Paris B Leave a Comment

Give me a product with Hyaluronic Acid, and I’d be all over it, raring to have a go. Hydration! Let me at all that hydration! This more so, after I’d had a happy encounter with the first Novexpert product I tried not very long ago.

The second product I’ve tried from French pharmacy brand Novexpert is the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid.

I have tried many hydration serums that contain high concentrations of hyaluronic acid, and I am always looking out for the next big thing.

Might this one be it? 😀

Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid – equivalent to 20 injections of hyaluronic acid!

By now, most of us are familiar with hyaluronic acid. It is a compound that occurs naturally in our bodies, that binds and holds water and helps us maintain our skin hydration and by extension, elasticity and firmness.

But as we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid our bodies make reduces, and topical applications have been found to be helpful to boost this water bondage process, thereby leading to firmer, more elastic skin.

This is hyaluronic acid in a nutshell, and is an ingredient that has taken the cosmetics world by storm.

Novexpert says that their Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid is made from 100% pure hyaluronic acid, that combines 4 different hyaluronic acid molecules – HA non fragmented with smoothing and anti-roughness effect, HA fragmented with moisturizing effect, HA very fragmented with repulp effect, HA micro fragmented with collagen booster effect.

They say that it effectively stimulates hyaluronic acid synthesis in skin cells and the ultra-concentrated booster serum visibly affects the appearance of the skin by smoothing dull skin and firming mature skin.

The other key ingredients are probiotics for protection and biostimulation of natural skin defenses and Aloe Vera for soothing, healing, hydration and anti-inflammatory effects.

It all sounds like a perfect product to soothe, hydrate and firm up skin, doesn’t it? I was intrigued. This more so, when they claim that it is as effective as 20 injections of hyaluronic acid!

Texture is clear and a little thick

If you’re used to a very light, watery hydration booster serum then you may find the texture of the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid a little thicker.

It is still fairly watery, just with a little more viscosity to it, and it is perfectly clear in the dropper.

Having used many versions of hyaluronic acid from various brands, I don’t find this one any harder to use than the others. I don’t find it easier either.

It is for all intents and purposes, a hydration serum in a dropper bottle, that you use to boost hydration on your skin. With better skin hydration, you will naturally notice that your skin will look healthier, more glowy, and less lined.

I was warned that the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid might feel a little tacky going on the skin, in which case, I should pat it in a little, or let it absorb, if I feel uncomfortable.

However, I did not notice any such effects.

One of my first exposure to hyaluronic acid is via the very popular Hada Labo Lotion, years ago. The product contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, and any product that does, tends to be a bit tacky. For that reason, the application technique recommended then, was to pat it on. It would feel very sticky, before absorbing into the skin and feeling comfortable.

However, the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid feels nothing like that. To me, it feels just like a slightly more viscous hydration serum, with no residual tackiness whatsoever. It feels very comfortable indeed.

It must also be noted that I practice the moisture sandwich technique religiously, so my skin is always damp when applying skincare. If you aren’t already aware, it helps all skincare absorb better – try if, if you haven’t already! 😉

Skin feels plumped and hydrated

As might be expected, the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid makes my skin feel plumped and hydrated after use, and especially with regular use.

I wouldn’t expect anything less, for this is the sole purpose of this serum.

I use it regularly in the day time, and occasionally at night, depending on the other types of products I’m using in my nighttime routine.

If I’m to be honest however, I cannot say that my skin feels any more plumped or hydrated than it does with any other hyaluronic acid serum or lotion. It therefore feels nice, but not significantly nicer.

A little too pricey for what it does

Personally, I’ve found that hydration serums, or serums with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid can be bought quite affordably.

The thing about skincare is this – it must be sustainable in the long run. For this, it must be affordable, or at the very least, be at a price point that you are comfortable with repurchasing it.

I find this Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid to be a little pricey for what it does. There are many options available in the market that do a similar thing, but are priced more affordably, and will therefore be easier on the wallet to repurchase.

This more so at this time, when people are watching their finances a little more closely.

A personal recommendation is the Hyaluronic Serum by The Inkey List. The essence serum from Hada Labo is also affordable and effective, and if you want to use something even lighter, these hyaluronic acid lotions might appeal to you.

IN A NUTSHELL

The Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid is a fairly basic serum that boost hydration. It has a slightly viscous texture, and absorbs easily into the skin. I do notice improved hydration levels and also more plumped up skin. But that is true of all similar products. As far as basic booster serums go, it’s well formulated, and quite good. However, I do find the price a little higher than I’m willing to pay for a similar product.

PROS:
Comfortable formulation
Well packaged
Hydrates and plumps up skin with regular use
Lightweight and easily absorbs into skin

CONS:
Pricey
Can feel a little tacky on skin for some

WHO WILL LIKE THIS: Anyone who wants a certified organic hyaluronic acid serum for hydration

PRICE: RM299 | 49,90€ for 30ml

WHERE TO BUY: Novexpert website (MY), Novexpert France

For those interested, this is the ingredients list for the Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid.

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Propanediol, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Parfum (Fragrance), Arginine, Lactobacillus Ferment, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Phytic Acid, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Galactaric Acid, PCA Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate * Certified organic cosmetic ingredient

If it matters, the brand is certified organic and the ingredients are all natural, so sometimes, that’s all that really matters for some. Whether you feel that it is worth your money will depend on your lifestyle, your position in life, and your principles. Let no one try to sway you otherwise! 🙂

Have you tried this Novexpert Booster Serum with Hyaluronic Acid? Have you tried anything else from Novexpert?

The Vitamin C serum did impress me, and while I might gripe about the price tag, this Hyaluronic Acid serum is nice to use too. It’s definitely a brand I’m game to try more of as I go along! 🙂

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
