In 2020, Cle de Peau Beaute celebrates 10 years of their most iconic lip colour – Legend #103 – in a special release of the Cle de Peau Beaute Legend Color Collection.
And believe me when I say that it is a stunner!
Cle de Peau Beaute Legend #103 Lip Colour
Truth to tell, I have not been very familiar with Cle de Peau Beaute lip products until fairly recently. It was a brand that tended to fly under my radar. It happens. There is just too much out there!
But I can safely tell you that after checking out the Legend Lip Color Collection, I am much more intrigued to check out more of their products.
The most iconic colour in the Cle de Peau Beaute lip collection is Legend #103. It is a colour that they say, maximises a woman’s radiance, and suitable for most.
I’m going to tell you right here and now, I tend to agree!
Legend #103 is a rose-red shade that is at once bold, yet soft. It has fairly neutral undertones, which I reckon makes it suitable for most skin tones. While eye-catching, it isn’t so bold as to look too out of place when worn in the day. Worn at night, it is a winner, naturally!

To celebrate 10 years of Legend, Cle de Peau Beaute has taken their most iconic colour – #103 Legend Red – and released a capsule collection of the identical shade, in 4 different finishes, to suit all occasions.
It is brilliant!
While the special edition red and gold packaging, that is at once, festive yet bold, is stunning, I was far more interested to see the performance of each lip product.
Happily, I was not disappointed (and neither will you!) 😀
Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Lip Gloss – Legend #103 – RM155 | US$38
While I’m not the biggest fan of lip gloss, the Radiant Lip Gloss is lovely! It is non-sticky and non-goopy. It isn’t thick or tacky at all, which makes for a very comfortable wear.
Legend Red #103 in the Radiant Lip Gloss, is a sheer red that adds just the right amount of light colour and dewy glow to lips. It is flattering, and perfect for when you want to wear a red lip, without being overwhelming.
Perhaps, if you want to ease into wearing a red, this would be the one you’d pick. The colour is bright enough to brighten the complexion, yet not too bold as to be intimidating. It makes you feel less like a girl, more like a woman.

Cle de Peau Beaute Refined Lip Luminizer – Legend #103 – RM215 | US$58
Housed in a sleek lacquered red tube, the Refined Lip Luminizer is a stunning wand. I know I complained a little before about the transparent bit at the end, that contains a swatch of corresponding colour in the tube, but for some reason, in this glossy red packaging, it works.

The texture of the Refined Lip Luminizer is lovely, being almost like a serum, balm lipstick. It is moisturizing on lips, and oh so comfortable!
The colour is a little more sheer, yet as you can see in the photo above, it is brightening to the complexion. The red isn’t too bold, and is wearable as a daily lip colour.
It isn’t too shiny either, to be unprofessional in an office setting. If anything, it just makes you look better groomed, with smooth lips, without showing off the deep grooves of lip lines and dry, puckered lips.
My only complaint with this formula is that it is so soft, to almost melt on contact with skin warmth. While it means it slides on skin like butter, it also melts the product a little more than I like, which can result it it being a little messy.

Cle de Peau Beaute Lipstick Cashmere – Legend #103 – RM235 | US$65
The Lipstick Cashmere the one that Cle de Peau Beaute launched a while ago, that captured the imagination of many.
The formula is that of a satin matte, but with intense pigment so color on lips is imparted with just one swipe. What I like about the Lipstick Cashmere is that unlike most matte lipsticks, it isn’t too flat. There’s nothing more unattractive than a flat, matte lip, in my view 😛
I like lips to have a hint of shine, for that 3D effect. The satin texture fits this perfectly, and Legend Red in this texture results in a lip colour that is designed for someone who isn’t afraid of a bold lip.
Yet, the matte texture lends to the colour a little more depth. You will pick Legend Red in Lipstick Cashmere, if what you want is a lip colour that is bold, yet isn’t too overwhelmingly so.
It is slightly more dressy for most, which makes it a little harder to wear in the day, although there’s nothing that should stop you from doing so. I would! But I confess to being a bit of an exception LOL! 😀
Wear this, if you aren’t afraid of colour, and if you want to make an impact.

Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Liquid Rouge Shine – Legend #103 – RM180 | US$50
In terms of intensity of colour, Legend Red in the Radiant Liquid Rouge Shine formula is the winner!
The formula is that of a liquid lipstick, with bold, intense pigment and a dewy shine.
I LIKE! 😀
No surprises therefore, that this is my favourite formula, and my favourite representation of Legend Red!
It is comfortable to wear, moisturizing and best of all, does not bleed outside the lines as most red liquid lipsticks are wont to do. The colour stays put on your lips, and gives you the most beautiful, intensely red lips. Not one for the faint-hearted!
But I have a tip for you too! After applying, leave it a little while, then blot. You will remove most of the excess colour and shine, yet leave behind a lovely toned down red. Best of both worlds really! 😀

I have shared how each of the lip products in the Legend Color Collection looks when worn, and I think you can tell how different they can look, while still retaining the same colour shade. The products range from being a wearable red, to a bold, full-on, don’t-mess-with-me red that is a stunner!
