If there’s one question I’m asked A. LOT. it’s this “Can you recommend a good eye cream?” or “What eye cream do you use?”

My answer is usually this : “I don’t use an eye cream”

It’s a fact. I don’t!

But I recently met the people from Dr. Dennis Gross, during a Sephora press event that I attended, and they told me that the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream was one that you could use around and even ON your eye lids. The fact it contains retinol piqued my interest as well.

And I recalled that I had one tub in my stash 😀 I have a tendency to forget what I buy over time 😛

Revisiting the Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil after 10 years!

One of the first skincare items I’d ever tried from Bobbi Brown back in my early days of blogging, was a sample of their Cleansing Oil. I remember back then (10 years ago!), that I was quite happy with it.

It was a time when I was using cleansing oils, so I was quite familiar with comparing and contrasting the different cleansing oils in the market then.

When I recently received a bottle of the Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, I was a little surprised. Why were they sending me this again, when it’s one of the Bobbi Brown skincare stalwarts? Was it a reminder?

Ah, as it turned out, the formula has been tweaked and upgraded. I don’t generally use cleansing oils anymore, preferring cleansing balms instead, but I was curious enough to have another go.

Trying the Dior Capture Youth Glow Booster Serum reminded me of the perils of being a beauty blogger

Some time last year, Dior released a range of serums that you could customize to your skin needs. It was reminiscent of the Bobbi Brown Remedies range, and was a luxury brand’s answer to the plethora of more affordable brands catering to a similar need for customization.

I recently had the opportunity to try one of the more interesting ones (to me), when I found a bottle of the Dior Capture Youth Glow Booster Age-Defying Illuminating Serum in an event goodie bag.

I like products that promise a glow and radiance, and when I saw that it contained Vitamin C, I was very intrigued. It was opportune that I had just finished the Vitamin C serum I was using, so I decided to put this to the test.

About 2.5 weeks in, I was reminded of the perils I face as a blogger, trying new skincare LOL!

Your Say: Do you find social media influencing your spending habits?

I came across an interesting article recently, about that strange creature that we know as “Social Media”.

Basically, it was about how social media, and the way that social media marketing works, has resulted in a pressure (for want of a better word) to make people spend more to keep up with their social network.

It is basically, the modern version of ‘Keeping up with the Joneses’; and it made me think.

Do you find social media influencing your spending habits? Are you compelled to spend more? Are you able to turn a blind eye to all the enticing marketing that’s flooding your timelines? Tell me! 🙂
