Let the Oskia Renaissance Mask renew, rejuvenate and resurface your skin

January 14, 2019 Paris B 52 Comments

Oskia is a brand that was quite hot about a year ago, and has since slipped a little, in terms of popularity, if Instagram is any judge. For me however, it’s a brand that I’m a little smitten with!

Many people raved about the Oskia Renaissance Gel Cleanser (count me as a fan). But there’s another product, less talked about, that I think everyone should try – the Oskia Renaissance Mask.

Oskia Renaissance Mask

Briefly, Oskia is a niche skincare brand that hails from the UK. It is quite new, but has made waves in the skincare world since its launch. Their products are designed with cellular nutrients and high-tech bio-actives, containing vitamins, omegas and minerals. It is all very fascinating to me, primarily because whatever products I’ve used thus far, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed! 🙂

Like the Renaissance Cleansing Gel, the Renaissance Mask is a pale peach-pink colour in tub. I tried a sample before this, and I loved it so much, I sprung for the full sized tub. If you know what’s good for you, you’d read on 😛

My love affair with the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color is not a mere crush!

January 11, 2019 Paris B 8 Comments

How I came about trying (and loving – spoiler!) the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color turned out to be via a rather circuitous route.

When it was first launched a year or two back, I initially looked at it, and then dismissed it as yet another balm-lipstick. Don’t get me wrong. I love balm-type lipsticks, but there are only so many I can have in my collection.

Then, I met a few people who raved about the Crushed Lip Color to me. Suddenly, the feeling of FOMO rose in me. I needed to find out what it was about these lipsticks that had these ladies raving about them.

One day, I stopped by the boutique, and the rest as they say, is history! 😀

Your Say: Do you or your friends give and receive beauty gifts?

January 9, 2019 Paris B 10 Comments

Now that the season for gifting is all but over, I’m going to ask you an interesting question – do you or your friends give and receive beauty or beauty related gifts?

beauty related gifts for christmas

I thought about it because I notice that often, when you read gift guides for gifting over Christmas (and especially for the dreaded Secret Santa gifting), when it comes to the women in your life, often, the suggestion of a beauty item pops up.

It could be something small like a hand cream or body wash. Or it might be something more extravagant like a perfume or fancy makeup or skincare.

So, here’s your chance to be anonymous and tell me if you give and receive beauty gifts and if it sits well with you in general? 😉

Pucker up pillowy soft lips after treating with the Mamonde lip sleeping mask

January 7, 2019 Paris B 18 Comments

It often surprises people to know that lip balm does not feature high on my list of must-have beauty items. “But you’re a beauty blogger!” They cry. To which my answer is “Yes I am, so I’m more discerning”

Unless I’m in a cold, dry climate, I never wear lip balm in the day. I personally believe that regular use creates dependency, but that’s just me.

That said, I do take care of my lips – I just do it at night. Like with hand cream.

I usually slick a layer of Lucas Papaw Ointment on my lips every night before bed. That’s my regular lip treatment – it’s affordable and lasts me years if I buy the large tub. That said, I have been informed that it’s increasingly hard to find locally, not that I know why.

A while ago, I discovered the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and that had proven to be a favourite lip treatment. In fact, I never ever leave home without it – hotel rooms, airplanes etc have notoriously dry air. Sometimes, I use it just to give my lips a treat, and I wake up with soft, smooth, flake-free lips.

So, when I came across the Mamonde Lip Sleeping Mask, I was intrigued enough to have a go.
