Late to the party but always red carpet camera ready with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette

November 12, 2018 Paris B 4 Comments

Sometimes, you have to use a product for quite a while before you figure out if it’s something you like or dislike. And sometimes, by the time you have figured it out, you realize that you’ve forgotten to take photos of it in its pristine condition. Thus was the fate of my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette and why you see it here in its well-used, defiled glory.

But I think sometimes that’s good. Bloggers are human. We (most of us) use our products, and it is a sad day that we don’t, and just keep products to display. And sometimes, we rediscover products, and tell you about it.

When the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette took the world by storm a few years ago, I had not yet figured out what bronzer did for me. I still had it in my head that a bronzer was to do with contouring the face. It is, but not in the Kardashian way.

I now use bronzing powders as a face warming powder. When I started getting the hang of it, I decided to add this popular palette to my growing collection of bronzing powders.

When it comes to your skincare – is less more? Should you go on the Skincare Diet?

November 9, 2018 Paris B 8 Comments

A few years ago when Korean skincare and k-beauty took the world by storm, the 14-step routine suddenly became popular and the gold standard. Lotions! Essence! Creams! Layer them on! The more the merrier!

A few years later, someone decided that putting lotion or essence on their skin 7 times was a good thing. And everyone was doing it!

what is the skincare diet?

Is it surprising therefore that, as with all demonstrations of excess, people would then turn torwards the minimal?

I was prompted to think about this, when a friend sent me an article about what is known as “the Skincare Diet”. And truth be told, I had a good laugh over it 😛

Beauty Hors d’Oeuvres: Diptyque Christmas 2018 brings to life the Legende du Nord

November 7, 2018 Paris B Leave a Comment

Each year, nothing signals Christmas more clearly to me, than the arrival of the Diptyque Christmas collections and their Christmas candles. There is always an interesting story behind their new designs and scents. Last year’s was an undisputed winner, I’m sure you all agree! So, Diptyque Christmas 2018 had a lot to live up to in my eyes!

I confess that when I first laid eyes on the Diptyque Christmas 2018 collection – Legende du Nord, I felt a little disappointed. It is still a beautiful collection. But coming down from last year’s with its sleek black jars adorned with mystical creatures, and coloured wax, I felt this to be almost normal 🙁

It isn’t however. It goes back to Diptyque’s regular Christmas offerings – each year, as you can see from 2016, Diptyque houses their Christmas candles in coloured jars, with a back story to them. This year is no different.

I tried the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist and Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist and discovered I really love one of them!

November 5, 2018 Paris B 7 Comments

You know I love my facial mists, and I’d been curious about the mists from Pixi for a while. But it wasn’t until I had a few people recommend them to me, that I took a look. I added the Pixi Hydrating Milk Mist and the Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist to my stash while on one of my online shopping jaunts to see what the fuss was about.

You can now get Pixi Beauty at Sephora stores, but I’m hardly ever at Sephora, so I prefer to just get them online.

Pixi has a few different mists in their collection, but for a start, I decided to try 2. Just to see how I’d like them. I have to say though, that they absolutely lived up to my expectations! 🙂
