Chanel releases Boy de Chanel makeup and boy! Am I in love with its aesthetics!

August 22, 2018 Paris B 14 Comments

While I don’t usually talk about press releases of upcoming products (I’m never sure if anyone is really interested – if you are, tell me!), one just dropped into my mailbox that I was so intrigued by, I had to share it, because I’m curious about what you might think of this upcoming makeup release too!

boy de chanel makeupI invite you to feast your eyes on this gloriously aesthetically pleasing range of makeup by Chanel. It is the Boy de Chanel makeup collection, and I am positively smitten by it! I mean, look at that beautiful matte finish, that eye-pleasing midnight blue shade that is so understated, yet so eye-catching.

For once, the boys have it better than the girls, I swear!

Did I say “boys”? 😀

Pucker up for a squeeze of Mamonde Creamy Tint Squeeze Lip creamy liquid lipstick

August 20, 2018 Paris B 6 Comments

It was quite amusing to me when the Mamonde Creamy Tint Squeeze Lip was sent out. I came across so many people squealing and going “Ooh! First time ever a squeeze lipstick!” Well, WRONG! Other brands have done it too in the same or slightly different forms, most recently, the Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip that looks exactly the same. I own one of them. Just never got round to talking about it.

Pay a little more attention to what’s going on around you, and you’ll realise that makeup trends are cyclical and what goes around comes around!

But what intrigued me enough to share about these Mamonde Creamy Tint Squeeze Lips is because I have a soft spot for the brand. I know I often say I’m not into Korean brands, but Mamonde has gotten under my skin in a good way. Their skincare is quite decent and my little experience with their small makeup range has been fairly positive too. I still use their Flower Pop blush very often! 😀 And I like that they are very affordable, yet without compromising on packaging or quality. You know me. I’m picky about things like this, but when a brand grabs hold of my attention, I usually tend to look a little more kindly on it 😀

I shared a picture of these Mamonde Creamy Tint Squeeze Lips on Instagram a little while ago, and received many requests for me to share my thoughts on them. So here we are! 🙂

YOUR SAY: Do your skincare routines change when you travel?

August 16, 2018 Paris B 27 Comments

I have a couple of short trips lined up in coming weeks, which I’m a) looking forward to and b) quite dreading LOL! All trips leave me with this conflicted feeling these days.

On the one hand, I look forward to a break and to being somewhere else for a bit. On the other hand, it means being in close quarters with people for most of the day (even if it’s family), uncertain meal times, and ugh! having to pack! And my poor plants! Will they all be dead when I get home?!

Yes, I do realise that last bit was a bit aunty, but the worry is real! I have some chillies coming along and some vege and herbs just sprouting so I hope they don’t die while I’m away.

But that aside, one of the things I have to pack stumps me the most and that is skincare. Makeup is easy. I usually toss some random pieces into a little pouch and I’m done because I know the odds of me wearing much makeup while away is very low. But skincare! Do I go with my full arsenal or do I pare it down to a minimum? Do I pack a mask? Will I use it? Help!

Feed your skin some of that delicious The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask

August 14, 2018 Paris B 8 Comments

Sometimes, a product from a well-known brand surprises you with its efficacy. And it’s times like that that you find a little vindication in not always going for everything niche and expensive. A product I’d been meaning to share is The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask.

This wasn’t love at first sight though. I ran into problems the first few times I used it, and there wasn’t a lot of information out there about how to address them. So, enter me! PB to the rescue! LOL 😀

The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is one of the masks available in their mask wardrobe. I’d been quite fascinated by them for a while, and I’ve been told that the clay masks are quite good. They are quite affordable too, which is useful when you have to slather on a product generously.

But when I was shopping around before this, my eye was drawn to the Ethiopian Honey mask, simply because I like using products with honey. They are always soothing to the skin, hydrating and nourishing. All good stuff! So home I traipsed with a pot of hunny in my bag, just like Pooh 😀
