Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser : Affordable, Effective but does not smell of roses

April 23, 2018 Paris B 13 Comments

I’d been using the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser for a while now, and didn’t realize that it was fairly new to the Pixi Beauty range till I tried to find some reviews on it. To my surprise, there aren’t many out there. I’m not sure now when I bought it. It could be early this year (2018) but it was during one of my Cult Beauty purchases. I must have tossed it into my cart without thinking too much about it.

I have used the famed Glow Tonic and like it. I also have tried a few other products by Pixi Beauty – the Rose Oil, Glow Tonic wipes, Double Cleanse, Cleansing Balm, just to name a few – but I often forget to showcase them LOL 😛 It was opportune that I have received a few inquiries about the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser, after showing a picture on Instagram a while ago, that I finally remembered to blog about this one.

I am partial to a cream cleanser, and this being by Pixi, which I have high regards for as a brand, had me curious.

Come and explore the La Mer moisturizer wardrobe starting with the new La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream

April 20, 2018 Paris B 9 Comments

In my time that I’ve been blogging, I have shared my thoughts about many iconic products from various brands. But one very iconic product has thus far escaped scrutiny – Crème de La Mer. Not for want of trying. I was one of the early customers at the La Mer counter when it first opened in Malaysia. Armed with a small pay check, but high hopes, I indulged in the luxurious Crème de la Mer cream. The original. The cream that started it all. For a long time, that was all the brand carried – the Creme de La Mer. I didn’t stick to it for long eventually (small pay check remember?) but despite detractors, I rather liked the crème, a jar of which lasts a surprisingly long time, and back then, worked for me. But this was long before I started writing.

la mer moisturisers

La Mer as a brand tends to bring forth 2 reactions. First, bug-eyed awe at the price-tag. It is the same sort of jaw-dropping awe I stifle when I step into an Hermes store and casually enquire about an item. Second, scepticism. The products are pricey, do they work? Are they worth the price tag?

So, you’d be lying if you didn’t experience one or the other of these reactions, when I show you the new La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream, and share a little about my experience with La Mer moisturisers as a whole. There are 5 different textures in the La Mer moisturiser wardrobe to suit different skin types and preferences, and over the years, I’ve actually tried them all! LOL!

I never leave home without these 9 Travel Essentials! Maybe you shouldn’t too!

April 18, 2018 Paris B 24 Comments

I like to think that I’ve got my packing down to a bit of an art these days. I packed a rather compact, capsule wardrobe for my travel this time around, and still managed to have clothes I didn’t wear in my luggage. Next time, I’ll compact it even further! I’m not a fashionable traveller, nor a fashion blogger, so it’s easier for me to have comfortable clothes in a compact suitcase. I don’t have to think about doing a fashion shoot every day!

But, clothes aside, there are some travel essentials that I always make sure I have with me, regardless of where I travel or for what purpose.

travel essentials

Naturally, your passport, cash and credit cards are essentials. Those go without saying! But beauty and comfort-wise, here are 9 things I always, ALWAYS travel with. If you have a trip lined up, this might be a good place for you to start 🙂

Fulfilling Wanderlust : Some practical Japan travel tips for Tokyo and Kyoto

April 16, 2018 Paris B 24 Comments

Ohayo Gozaimasu peeps!

Wow, 2 weeks has just flown by for me, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time away. It isn’t something I think you want to hear, is it? LOL! But seriously, I have enjoyed my time away from the blog and social media, and it’s been refreshing to mind, body and soul.

I did share and update my going-ons on Instagram, and I thank you for joining me and for telling me you enjoyed the content. I did have some major adventures while on holiday, so it made for interesting stories to tell LOL!

japan travel tips

For those of you who’ve preferred to stay off social media and have no idea where I was, I was away in Japan. It was a trip I decided to go on with a friend, rather spontaneously early this year, and one I learned quite a lot from.

While I kept my travel tales to Instagram and shared a lot of them during an Instalive chat on the weekend, I did receive many questions. It turns out that so many of you are planning to visit Japan at some point or another, who had a lot of questions, so, I thought I’d share here some practical tips on travelling in and around Japan – Tokyo and Kyoto – based on my personal experience.

Japan has changed a lot since my first visit, pre-tsunami in 2009. I even had to apply for a tourist visa back then!

If you have more tips to share, please do chip in, and if you have questions, ask. If I can’t help you, someone else will be able to! 🙂 This isn’t a travel diary, so don’t worry. I’m not going to bore you with the details 😛 It’ll just be some basic, practical things you might want to think about before and during your trip.
