Hey guys, you did not actually think I’d allow that 10 year milestone to pass me by without commemorating it in some way, right?! Pish! Perish the thought!
I originally had more lofty plans to celebrate 10 years of blogging, including throwing a little party, but for various reasons, I put those plans to bed (but if you want to help or sponsor something, let’s talk! I can’t do it alone). Instead, I decided to give back to you, lovely readers. And it comes in the form of a humungous beauty hamper.
I’d stopped running giveaways here on MWS for a while now, because they just weren’t appreciated (fact). There, said it, and despite what people kept telling me, it affects how I consider giveaways. But I wanted to find a way to give back, and this was the easiest way.
In this very special My Women Stuff 10th Anniversary giveaway, I have a hamper of full sized beauty products that I specially handpicked from different brands. They are ALL products I personally use and still use and in some cases, use often and keep back ups of. If you’ve been with me, none of them will come as a surprise and you may even find yourself nodding along to each of them, as you would an old friend.
I have 4 5 sets for 4 5 very lucky MWS readers, so here’s what you will stand to win and how you can participate. There is one more opportunity going out, but you’d have to be in the know for that one, so you might want to get on the ball, coz if you’re in the know, you’re in the know! 😉
In this very special giveaway to celebrate 10 years of blogging on My Women Stuff I have specially selected and hand-picked the following gifts worth a little over RM2600 (US$600) made possible thanks to various sponsors named below:-
- Alpha-H Liquid Gold (review) – Sponsored by me because we can’t get this here in Malaysia readily. This is a product I am never without, and one I pick and use often for my lazy evening routine. I always have a bottle on hand, and now you can too! This is the 100ml bottle which will last you a while.
- La Mer The Treatment Lotion (review) – Kindly sponsored by La Mer Malaysia, I specifically requested for this item because I love how it gives my skin that lovely boost of hydration that makes other products work so much more effectively. I believe this will work for most skin types which is why I picked this one. I have back ups, and I rarely ever have back ups of anything!
- Melvita Nectar Supreme La Creme (review) – I’m not that crazy about organic products but when they work, they work! I enjoyed using this cream which is comfortable on my skin and gives it the nourishment it needs and craves in the evening, and it lasts a surprisingly long time. I wasn’t expecting very much, but it impressed me enough to be included in this beauty hamper. Thank you Melvita Malaysia! For oilier skin types, you may want to use just a tiny bit, or reserve it for evening use only.
- Dior J’adore Eau de Toilette (review) – I often say I’m not into floral perfumes or jasmine scents but for some reason, I adore J’Adore by Dior, that is both floral and has jasmine at its heart. But I’ve loved this for years and it’s the one I find myself reaching for the most often as I head out the door. It’s the one I have as a travel purse spray in my daily makeup pouch. It’s the one that makes me feel so lovely and feminine and it’s the one I just knew I wanted you to have. Thank you Dior Malaysia for making that possible! This is the 100ml bottle.
- Guerlain Meteorites Perles (review) – MWS or at least, Paris B is synonymous with Guerlain Meteorites, aren’t I?! I was raving about them and collecting them long before they became the de rigeur prop on Instagram LOL! I love them, and I still love them and every new tub released makes my head swivel around even as I tell myself I don’t actually need more. Thanks to Guerlain Malaysia, you will receive the special edition 30th Anniversary Meteorites, limited edition for Spring 2017. I don’t even own this one! Hmph!
- Dr. Brandt Vitamin C Power Dose serum (review) – I swear, this is the one Vitamin C serum I love and actually saw impressive results with and want to never be without! It’s so bloody effective, but expensive, so when Ken’s Apothecary, local distributors of Dr. Brandt, agreed to my request for sponsorship of this specific product, I was over the moon. You must try this and you lucky ducks will! I have to replenish very soon.
- Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lipstick (review) – Know me long enough and you’d know I love me a good, nourishing, moisturising lipstick. This one from Bobbi Brown impressed me so greatly I not only ended up buying more, I just had to let you try them in my favourite colour, Rosebud! It’s very wearable and will sit well with many people. Don’t blame me if you end up visiting the Bobbi Brown counter to add to your collection! Thank you, Bobbi Brown Malaysia!
- Shiseido Perfect UV sunscreen (review) – It’s come to the stage where you shouldn’t even ask me what sunscreen I use because this is the only one I have used for years and for now, appears to be the only one I’ll ever use. If anything, I’ve become synonymous with the Shiseido Perfect UV sunscreen. If Shiseido reformulates it to the point that I cannot use it anymore, I will cry, I swear! Thank you Shiseido Malaysia for acceding to my request for the one product I am never without and for the product I probably help them sell the most of 😛
- Antipodes Juliet Gel Cleanser (review) – Antipodes Natural Skincare was the brand that revived my confidence in the efficacy of natural and/or organic skincare and this was one of the first products I used and enjoyed. I picked this one because I felt it to be the most universally acceptable for most skin types. It’ll last you a long while and I promise, you will love this as much as I do. Thank you to local distributor, TNS Skinlabs for kindly sponsoring this!
- L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (review) – I was very grateful that L’Occitane Malaysia agreed to sponsor this iconic product, because it is truly one every beauty buff should own or at least try. I love the texture, how it feels, how it smells, everything. It’s one I’ve used for years and will continue using for years to come when I feel like a luxury shower treat. This is the 250ml bottle.
- Caudalie Grape Water Spray (review) – If you think all facial mists or sprays are the same, know that I experienced enough difference in the Caudalie Grape Water Spray to include it in my beauty hamper. It calms my skin, cools it and helps my products and oils absorb more readily. Thank you Caudalie Malaysia and Ken’s Apothecary for being so quick to agree to my request for sponsorship. This is the 200ml large sized can.
- Stickers from Closet Planner Addict – I know how popular planners are today, and cute stickers too; so I commissioned 2 sheets of special edition MWS 10th Anniversary stickers from online sticker shop, Closet Planner Addict, and they were hand delivered all the way from Australia! They are so exclusive you won’t be able to get them anywhere else! Thank you for the hard work, Tine! If you love cute yet practical stickers for your planner, you want to check Closet Planner Addict out. Some of you may recognise the face behind the store, who is my good friend, Tine of Beautyholics Anonymous. I know that some of you have expressed to me your concerns that she’s taken a bit of a hiatus from her beauty blog, but I have spoken to her a few times and been assured that she will return. She just needs a little time to realign so don’t worry – I’ll make sure she comes back 😉
There you have it. 12 very very exclusive items to celebrate and commemorate 10 years of My Women Stuff. I wanted just 10, but it sort of grew of its own accord, and I actually had to stop adding to it or I would never be able to send it out! As it is, I’m hoarding large cardboard boxes and bubble wrap for this purpose LOL! 😀
But what you really want to know is this – HOW DO I ENTER THIS AWESOME JAW-DROPPING GIVEAWAY??

p/s If you are on Instagram or the newsletter, keep your eyes peeled! Just saying 😉
Congratulations on blogging for ten years! That takes passion, dedication and discipline!
I can’t rembernexactly what I was googling but your site came up…Imthinkmit was for an Estée Lauder product. Your writing and down to earth spirit resonated with me .
I am 59 and it has only been the past few years that I took any interest or time in my skin and, appearance. I was an athlete, then a stay at home mum and coach. All my time and effort went into helping others achieve their goals. I thought make up etc. was for vain people with too much time on their hands. Lol.
Now I am revelling in taking time for myself and self care. I still have a tiny voice telling me I too old and too plain for any of it to make a difference but I override those thoughts and am enjoying the journey.
My greatest achievement is saving one of my daughters from addiction and mental health issues that threaten her life. It was an extremely stressful time that deplete my spirit and bank account. I am thrilled to say my daughter is healthy, loving life and working in a male dominated trade that she loves. It was all worth it.
Thank you for the opportunity to win this amazing potpourri of incredible, products. It would be incredible to have the chance to try them.
I am in Canada.
I’m from KL. Really can’t recall how long I have been reading your blog but I know it’s really been a long time now. You used to post every day and every morning I would definitely checked on your blog for my morning feed 🙂
I have had several misfortunes recently but I am glad to say I am confronting my problems head on and with much vigour and strength. All I wish is for some encouragement and moral support from my friends and family.
I’ve delved into at least 3-4 items from that list from your recommendations Paris! First came across your blog through Belledemoiselle, the girls have been following you so I hopped along as well. I think my greatest achievement is completing law school after struggling badly with a number of health issues. I’m now working at a fantastic firm in Dubai (another proud achievement, having uprooted from Australia!)
Bonjour Paris B,
First of all, Je m’appelle Lateefa, would like to wish you Happy 10th Anniversary of MWS. (I don’t know why I really love to use this language although I don’t converse in it ??).
I’m Malaysian as well as Johorean, but spending most of my lifetime so far in big bustling city, KL.
Long story short, during my college days, I already have a problem with a sensitive skin, and you know what I have been searching for the best yet affordable skin care product available. Well, I still remember during those days, not so many bloggers willing to share their expertise in beauty area freely and internet is not really widely accessible back then..How time flies…
In 2011, I travelled to europe using Malaysia Airlines and it was complimented with a bag of beauty product named Clarins. I used it and started fell in love with this brand. When came back from there, I started googling massively about Clarins. Although I know it’s a good product, but for me it is not really that cheap. It’s quite hard to find proper review available online. Suprisingly, I landed into one blog known as My Women Stuff and the rest is history. Hence, MWS is the reference that solely refer to as I think the writer gave quite honest reviews about every products listed in the blog. Plus, the review sometimes given down to tiny details as this really help readers and users can make up their mind before investing to any beauty product.
2016 is one of my busiest years so far, as I managed to tick few of my bucket lists for my life journey. I can list that, there are 3 major accomplishments I’ve made and continuation of the lists are still ongoing.
Firstly, I started my house renovation project which was long overdue.. (don’t blame me as capital to finance this project is not small???). But somehow it has achieved its major milestones. This early April we will start moving in Insya Allah.
Secondly, starting to have my own small and lovely online business which I co-partner with one of my good friend. The company name is Blue Dahlia Co. It selling mainly on satin shawl. I know there’s a lot of skeptical people saying that many people already selling shawls and stuffs. But the thing is, initially, I don’t plan to sell it, it was made just for me and it is really fun as the process involves in choosing the materials, colours, designs etc. Few of my colleague requested to sell it to them.. and Tada, the company was born.??
And last but not least, deep down inside my heart, I always want to be a writer ??. But, there’s always thousands buts… Well, eventually I managed to overcome all those buts and started to write using simple apps called Wattpad. As of now, I write using laid back Bahasa Melayu language on my travelling experiences. I feel free when I write and seems like the world is less boundary.
And there is my 5 cents.. love to meet you someday..
Au revoir,
Lateefa Chasez
I’m from Vancouver, Canada. I think I must’ve stumbled on your page near the beginning of your blogging career. I think I was probably curious in what’s available in Malaysia since I was born in KK. And everything time I’ve been back to KK, it’s always been about eating and not shopping. haha
Personal achievement…well, I went through something in late 2015/early 2016. I survived breast cancer 🙂
I’m from KL, well… originally from Indonesia but reside here in KL 🙂
First stumbled upon your blog was when I was searching for product review, cosmetics mainly, thru google. And it seems everytime I googled, your blog site always appear. went in to it and so in love with the way u write it. Very clear, well written and especially “In The Nut Shell” part when you need a quick review check 🙂
My Biggest achievement in the past 10yrs is that I manage to do what I love to do the most, teaching/tutoring makeup in a private and class session! It has been something I always dream on doing and end up having the courage to do so.
Finally, would love to meetup with u over coffee and collecting my prize 😀
Hi there! I’m from Miri, Sarawak. I stumbled onto your blog during my uni days while searching forproduct reviews so i guess that’s a whopping 7-8 years now. Thanks to you, i have sampled and liked shiseido, anr, ren, alpha h n sulwhasoo. I am shy though and usually am a passive reader.
It is hard to say which achievements are biggest for me as there were many important milestones. I entered and graduated med school and am enjoying my job despite the challenges. And i met someone whom i could share all aspects of myself without reservation, the good and the bad, and we are planning to get hitched this year. Not so bad for a reserved, guarded person like me ?
Congratulations on 10 years! I cannot remember when I first commented here but it was at least 4 years ago!
I’m from Taiwan! My greatest achievement in the last 10 years would be having improved my Chinese than I previously thought possible!
I live in Selangor; have been based here for years! If I remember correctly, I actually found your blog through Beetrice (I used to lowkey follow ‘beetricesreviews.com’ and ended up jumping from a link on one of her posts, if I remember correctly).
Probably my biggest achievement in the past 10 years was completing my MA. New country/new studies also came with new challenges and being uprooted, and the education system in the UK was pretty different from what I was used to in M’sian universities. I still wish I could go back in time to those few years again.
I’m from Kuala Lumpur and have been a long time reader of yours! Even met you once while on the job!
In the past 10 years I had graduated from university, got a job which gives me great job satisfaction and had my daughter which I still can’t believe I’m a mother. Congratulations on your 10 years!
TEN YEARS. A DECADE! The one who not only survived but thrived! Congratulations!I hope you celebrated with a good French champagne 😛
I have no idea how I came across your blog because it’s been that long. I’m glad our friendship’s survived despite my quitting my blog 🙂 I’d say most likely from Tine who sent me links to your blog 🙂 Back then, the beauty blogging community was minuscule so I’m not surprised at all that we bumped into each other!
I’m a born and bred Ipoh girl who decided to make Melbourne her home 🙂
My biggest achievement in the past 10 years (what? I can only list ONE?! I’m not going to – I don’t play by rules and you did say we can toot our own trumpet! Bwahhahaha!)
1. Getting invited to speak at a tech conferences. It blew my mind away that people are keen to hear what I’ve got to yap about for an hour. I hate public speaking but it was on my to-do list to conquer so conquer it I did – twice. In front of audiences of thousands. Next time I agree to speak again, please smack me on the head. I’m done. I don’t want to do it ever again.
2. Completing a half marathon. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Repeat after me – mind over matter. Never thought I could. I’m best when I’m leaving a bum imprint on the couch but once I got going with running, it was hard to stop. I’m glad I did. I’m glad I survived. I’m glad I’m bitten by this bug hard – have signed up for 2 more this year. (2 half marathons make a full marathon – I’m going by that, I don’t care)
Can we catch up for champagne, keropok and kacang putih when I collect my hamper please? 😀 😀 😀
Hi Paris B,
I am from Johor!
Mr Google brought me to this website and I must have been reading your blog for at least 5 years. Initially, I was googling for Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion review because I was interested in getting it from Guardian and your review popped up on the first page of Google. One thing leads to another and from then on, I popped in and read your blog a few times a week (until your scheduled breaks, that’s when I will pop by less often, ha).
Ah, 10 years. These ten years mark the time I have evolved from a fresh graduate to a skeptical mid 30 woman, haha. I will say my greatest personal achievement will be to enjoy solo overseas trips, be it for business or for leisure. I used to feel uneasy traveling alone but guess what, I love it now! Traveling alone means my own time, my own itinerary. It also means exploring areas where I want to go. It sounds superficial as a personal achievement but through this journey, I “found” myself and not tried so hard to fit in so as not to be labeled as an “anti-social” person. I care much less about people’s opinion and fight for my own rights. The solo trips became a turning point for more self recognition and not fit in the stereotype others are often too easy to cast on me.
One thing leads to another and I have learn to live with the fact that I am really a INTJ and not some ENFJ (not that it is bad, it’s just not me). People will be shocked as I looked like an extrovert but seriously, I just like to curl up on my bed and read a good book and not go around socializing and having many “friends” on Facebook.
I guess this comes with age but I am also proud of the fact that I am comfortable on my own. Who says all women need to get married with kids? I used to have invisible stress that I am “still” not married with kids. But I take pride of my freedom now. All these self realization came with the innocuous solo trips I took and those are stepping stones to the path of freedom that I am slowly but surely carving out for myself.
Hi Paris! When I first chanced upon your blog a few months ago, I was thinking to myself what an apt name for a beauty blogger. Good choice!
I am a Malaccan. I found your blog when I was looking for skincare product reviews and tips a few months ago. I am almost 50 now and have only seriously looked into skincare recently so I am only a baby compared to you in this area. I was overwhelmed with all the different products available so your reviews have really helped a lot. Besides, I love your style of writing and how you do the reviews which is different from most blogs out there. As for my achievements, I was busy raising a family of 3 while working part time. Boring right? So it’s time I start taking care of myself better before it’s too late.
As for your 10 years of blogging, it really is no small feat. CONGRATULATIONS on your achievement! Appreciate all your efforts and hard work. Keep it up and looking forward to more in the coming years. GREAT JOB!!
Dear Paris B .
Congratulation on the 10th anniversary of your wonderful blog MWS.
1) I am Ananya.I am from Delhi, India.
I first stumbled upon your blog was when I was searching for a product trough google and instantly fall in love with your blog .I love your honest posts and clear and no nonsense reviews.I always look forward to your posts .
2) My biggest achievement in the past 10 years was helping my family to come out of extrem poverty . When I grew up my father earn very less, crisis of basic elements of life like medicin , proper nutritious food and proper education was a distant dream.
I was 11 when I lost my grandfather in cancer without any treatment. That was a turning point of our life.
We promise ourselves that we will overcome our situation. Both my parents start working overtime and we siblings start doing all house hold work and study day and night aiming to be the best in our school.
Situation improve. That’s our biggest achievement in last 10 years .
My family consists of my grandmother, parents, my sister, brotherand I .Ours a big Indin joint family.
now where do i start ? following your blog for around 7 years or so . share the same love of meteorites like you. they don’t ever finish do they ? haha.
From Penang & loves to eat . Moved over to Singapore when my husband was posted there. Been here for around 3 years. Biggest achievement ? Having a child & survived being a first time mother for the past year ! Little one just celebrated her 1st birthday.
Loved skincare & makeup. But for the past two years -only thing on my face was only moisturizer and sunscreen .I never seem to be able to find time with the little one around. Those nasty pregnancy hormones get to you as well.
Only very recently did my makeup stash saw some light . Using more bright lippies to brighten up my day . All thanks to you ! You encourage me to use my rarely worn red lipsticks . haha.
Also being a mother has possibly change my priorities in life . Choosing more budget friendly makeup and skincare. But i’m not complaining . It makes it even more worthwhile when i get to indulge in something more expensive once in a while – Anyway Paris – Congratulations for being 10 , please continue writing . Continue inspiring , continue being You !
Hi Paris,
Congratulations and looking forward to more years!
I’m from the Philippines and I moved to Malaysia 7 years ago. I stumbled upon your blog in search of skincare that actually works for Asian skin. I love following other blogs but I would have to say this is my favorite. I can relate to so many things and it’s a big plus that you give me the best sources on where to get great skin care products at different price points.
My biggest achievement would have to be moving here to Malaysia when I was 22 to pursue a new career and independent life. 🙂 It has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and aspire for bigger dreams.
Thanks,
Crystal
I’m local, like you and started reading your blog almost 10 years ago, back when I was still in university and beauty blogging was just picking up. I’m glad you’re still around after 10 years because I always appreciate an honest review!
My biggest achievement would to be the first in my family to complete tertiary education. Both my parents never had the chance to do so growing up and they made sure I did. I’m proud to say I am where I am today because of their love and sacrifice for me and I’m currently helping my younger brother finish his education as well.
Hi PB, congrats on 10 years! I can’t remember when I started reading your blog (possibly 2007/2008), but I remember exactly how I stumbled on your blog. I was searching for reviews ofthe Majolica Majorca RD255 blush, and came across your blog spot mentioning that RD255 is a dupe for NARS Orgasm! That was how I started following your blog.
My biggest achievement is learning to pole! I love pole dancing and despite all the negative connotations, it’s really a very difficult sport and requires a lot of core and arm strength! It’s really not easy and I’m v happy that I’ve picked it up! 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
Yay, been waiting for this post since you hinted about this HUGE giveaway ! Fingers crossed !!
1) I started reading and follow your blog after Lancôme shared your review on their Genefique on FB, maybe 5-6years ago ? Later when I was pregnant, I read your daily post. Then I read your post while my bb slept on my chest. Fasting forward, now I read your post while my kid is napping or at night after she’s in bed.
2) My biggest achievement. That would be today 13/3/2017, seeing my kid at 3.5yo helping me out on her own, taking out the hanger of my pants AND quietly continued to fold all of my long pants and shorts ( although not perfect tofu piece ) AND put away the hangers nicely. Seeing this make me feel the things I did: from pregnant to taking care of her all on my own since day 1 in hospital ; to waking up at night to breastfeed her in my confinement ; to enduring the pain of engorged breast ; to wiping the floor and washing her after every meal when she’s on solid food ; to having no time to apply any skincare product because I was too exhausted while enduring loneliness because the husband was always not around to offer any support plus couldn’t put enough bread on the table ; cannot go on any shopping without her tagging along and messing up my plans ; have not had any meal in peace ; had no silent moment except when she’s napping ; have to work to earn some pocket money on my own in between all this chaos of taking care of a kid and me-time and doing the chores and cooking meals, all this are worthwhile and shows that I was doing the right thing all these years. Yes, it is still too early to be happy at small thing like this, she’s just 3.5yo after all. But, as other parents had said, enjoy growing up with your kid. They grew up too fast. I have never imagine I would put up with all these before a kid arrived. All that happened in the past 3yrs+ are totally opposite of my natural self and liking. Please allow me to proudly say that I took care of my kid from day one, all on my own with no helper, with no salary no increment no promotion no rest day and sleepless nights. But my reward are priceless : her hugs and kisses and her smile.
I would Love to meet you if I got the chance. I promise I won’t shout your name from across the street ^_^… Good luck to me !!! The items in this giveaway is indeed no nonsense. Wow ! Thank you for your time, your effort and your love to us the readers.
Hi Paris,
Wow, 10 years. That is definitely a milestone. Congratulations! I’ve only been following you for about 1 year so I have lots to catch up with. And thanks for the giveaway. It is appreciated!
Anyway, I am from across the straits, in sunny Singapore. It is great to see our regional beauty bloggers shinning and produce relevant and relatable content. (Those “Top 10 winner winter beauty products” lists are rather useless in our tropical climate.)
Biggest personal achievement? Sending myself to do my Masters. I think one of your other commenters said a similar thing. Putting aside time and money, especially when beauty collabs palettes are launched every other week, take quite a bit of self-control, focus and determination. And I’m the first in my family to do so. So yay me!
