Some of you have seen this on Snapchat, but for those who haven’t, there’s a very funny story surrounding this NARS Limited Edition Orgasm blush that offers you supersized pleasure at a value price.
I received a message one day that said “Hi, PB, I’d like to send you a limited edition orgasm.”
I paused for a moment as the message too paused. Now, that was a very generous offer, I might add. As a witty reader (@hasegawaayane) commented in my Instagram page, was a limited edition orgasm one that “cums once in a blue moon”? Or might it be one that was coming soon in an earth-shaking way?
Much to my relief (kinda), it was quickly followed up with “The Orgasm blush! Blush!” LOL! 😀 So, because this blush is one that used to send people into throes of ecstasy and make them giggle coyly at the mention of the name, I thought you’d like to know that now, for a limited time, you too can get a limited edition, supersized Orgasm…. blush 😉
In case you’re wondering why my picture above shows 2 product sleeves, it’s because here in Malaysia (and some other countries in the world, like Japan, strangely), some people tend to be prudish and would rather slink into a NARS store and quietly ask for a 5192 blush instead of an Orgasm blush. (Do note that it isn’t pronounced ‘Organism’ as I’ve heard many people say. I wouldn’t really want an ‘organism’ to be honest)
So for mine, the outer sleeve doesn’t have the product name on it. Some things just aren’t mentioned in polite company or in some societies, and NARS got around it by using the product code for the more risque sounding names. I believe you can’t ask for a Deep Throat either. Or Sex Appeal. Perish the thought of ever asking for a Super Orgasm!
Yet, if those are the only names you know, don’t worry. The staff in store know which numbers to slide you covertly, so no one knows that what you’re really after is a Super Orgasm. They just see you picking up a sparkly peach blush 😛 It’s fun however, to send guys in there for the risque sounding blushes – a crowd favourite is to make them ask for Deep Throat LOL! 😀
This new and limited edition Orgasm blush is what NARS calls, their biggest orgasm yet. A supersized, toe-curling climax of your blush collection, if this is what you want. What is the real selling point, is the fact that it doesn’t cost very much more than the regular sized blushes, which makes this quite a deal. This limited edition Orgasm blush boasts an earth-shattering 8g of product, and a larger pan, while the regular blushes are about half the size at 4.8g.
Price-wise, it’s RM169 (US$39) vs the regular RM120 (US$30) which makes it quite a deal, if you have been wanting to get an Orgasm. (I’m sorry, I’m having too much fun although I swear my SEO rankings are going to tank for this one as someone flags it for p0rn LOL! 😀 )
As much as it pains me to put this in writing, the Orgasm isn’t for everyone. The blush lah, what do you think I’m on about?! 😀 The non-blush version is for EVERYONE! 😛
NARS Limited Edition Orgasm blush 2016 8g vs regular Orgasm blush 4.8g
Orgasm has long been touted to be a universally flattering colour, to give your cheeks a flattering flush, akin to that you get after a bout of rumpy-pumpy. But truthfully, the Orgasm blush isn’t a universally flattering shade. If you have a lot of redness in your skin, you won’t like this.
My first NARS Blush was Orgasm, and as you can see from the picture (I depotted it because the case got too sticky and icky over time) I barely used it. I didn’t mind it, but I got it at a time when I thought that peach blushes suited me. I later learned that I look better wearing pink toned blushes. Here is my original review on NARS Orgasm blush where I loved it, and later found I didn’t LOL!
It also has gold shimmer, which some people find too shiny on their skin, and although pigmented, the shade is quite light so it shows up nicely on light-medium skintones, but not so well on medium-deep skintones. I personally prefer Deep Throat myself – it looks similar to Orgasm, but on me, pulls more pink and has less shimmer.
That said, when I swatched both my Orgasm blushes side by side, I was surprised to note that there was a slight variance in the shade. Now let me just say that my regular Orgasm blush is ancient, so I don’t know when the shade was tweaked. But you can see how my original Orgasm blush has a more significant peach tone, while the new Limited Edition Orgasm blush has a pinker tone. You can also see from the swatch, the golden shimmer that some people find too frosty. I don’t mind it, but if you have visible pores or acne scars, you may find that shimmer like this enhances those imperfections.
To show you how it looks on me, I slapped it on my cheeks.
I had to slap on quite a lot for it to show up in pictures, so you may be put off by how bright it looks. You know how it is, you keep building and building and then when you least expect it, you’re pushed over the edge. Just temper it to your preferences. I found the new blush softer in texture and my brush picked up product easily. That said, my old blush is ancient, so it might have hardened over all that time.
On me, the new limited edition Orgasm blush is a pink-peach with golden shimmer that I was quite happy with because I found it more flattering than the previous one I had. I will just be sure not to put on as much. While a natural flush can’t be controlled, you can temper your Orgasm blush flush 😉
IN A NUTSHELL
The limited edition Orgasm blush is a supersized pan of NARS’s most popular blush. In Malaysia (and some other countries) it is sold as #5192 due to the risque-sounding name. Apparently, some people can’t handle it. The larger pan comes in the regular rubberized packaging (that sucks! Change it, NARS!) and instead of the usual plastic insert bearing the brand name, this insert has a stylized picture of a lady on it. I personally found this version to go on my skin more pink-peach as opposed to my regular blush that goes on peach-pink. You may need to layer it on for the colour to show up on deeper skintones, and there is gold shimmer that can be too much, if you layer too much product on. This supersized Orgasm blush is really for those who love the shade and/or those who don’t already own one, because what it is, is value for money. But truthfully, few of us ever finish a regular sized pan anyway!
PROS: Value for money compared to the regular blush size, Flattering pink-peach shade, Pigmented and can be layered for intensity, Brush picks up product from the pan easily
CONS: Gold shimmer can be too much for some people, Shade does not suit deeper skintones or all skintones despite what they tell you, Does not suit those who have redness in their skin, Rubberized packaging will eventually melt and turn sticky and be utterly disgusting!
WHO WILL LIKE THIS: Anyone who does not already own the Orgasm blush, Anyone who loves the Orgasm blush and thinks they could do with a larger pan of product
PRICE: RM169 | US$39 for 8g
AVAILABILITY: NARS Cosmetics boutiques, Sephora, NARS Cosmetics online
Etched on this limited edition Orgasm blush is the hashtag #whatmakesyoublush. I’m not quite sure where NARS is going with this, but I suppose it’s a nod to social media. I personally don’t use the included mirror in most compacts, nor hashtags in my everyday conversation, so I’m not sure how that is applicable to me.
So, are you girding your loins for this limited edition Orgasm blush? Or are you just not into the Orgasm…blush?
As I said, I loved it back in the day (2007!) until I knew better. This new version does seem to be more flattering on me so I do like this one. If you don’t already have an Orgasm blush, but want one, then I’d suggest you pick up this version for the simple reason that you get more value for money. But if you already have one, I dare bet you’ve never finished it, so you probably don’t need another Orgasm… blush 😀

Oh I did that! I asked my hubby to get me Orgasm blush at Sephora when he went to the US, and he just had to ask the sales girl for it. He said she said out loud to somebody “This gentleman here needs an Orgasm” XD He was soooo embarrassed!
Paris B says
ROFLOL!!! I’m quite quite sure the sales assistant did it on purpose! 😀

I’ve always liked peachy-pink/rose gold blushes but I’ve never gotten Orgasm before because I had others from Nars (Deep Throat at first and now Desire – I’ve had it for 3 years and I barely made a dent in it!)
I have a similar Tarte Amazonian Clay blush called Sweet though and I found that it’s so similar that I can’t get Orgasm until I’m done with it.
Paris B says
Because Orgasm is such a popular shade, I think every brand out there has a “dupe” 😀 That said Deep Throat is very pretty and so is Desire. I used to use Desire all the time until I broke it!

A+ post Paris! Overflowing with amazing puns and innuendos! I’ve been in a continuous laughing fit since you posted that story on snapchat. This blog post is the real climax ?
Paris B says
LOL!! Thank you and thank you too for entertaining me with your input! 😀

I found Orgasm too sparkly so I got Penny Lane (which is now discontinued?!). I prefer cream textures because my skin hates me taking a brush to it to try and buff things out.
Paris B says
I remember Penny Lane was very popular! But I’ve never tried Nars’ cream blushes. Never been very good at them till now! I usually use a less is more approach to blush – I just tap the brush on the surface and then apply. Often, that’s enough. We aren’t auditioning for the opera after all 😛

An old orgasm vs a limited-edition one? *wicked grin*
Oh, behave!
Sorry… couldn’t resist! 😀
Paris B says
LOL! “Oh behave!” 😀 😀 😀

I actually made a dent on my Orgasm blush. I can even spot a little pan! From the swatch, I do prefer the warmer older version. For pink, Deep Throat is one of my favourites for sure 🙂
Paris B says
Wow that’s an achievement! I just dumped most of my NARS blushes because of how sticky they got. Didn’t even want to touch them anymore but am reminded now of just how lovely they are

So many risqué words here, need to rate this blog 18SX 😛 But it’s really funny to have products with all those names that I usually found in steamy scenes instead of in public display LOL I do wonder if there were many people trying to find the Orgasm blush but instead asking for Organism blush haha.
I like the swatch for new limited edition shade compare to the previous version – more pinkish instead of orangish. However, I’m not really good to compare the blushes on your face as both look pretty much same to me. They both look good on you so I’m not sure which one is more pinkish, which one is more orangish.
By the way, I’m confused – what’s the difference between pink-peach and peach-pink? Sounds same to me, just the words arrangement are different.
Paris B says
Haha 18SX – Ok next time I’ll put a big warning 😉 I’m quite sure the NARS SAs will have a story to tell, if we ask. I hear people say Organism so many times, I can’t help rolling my eyes. It’s NOT an organism! LOL! Oh I should clarify that on my cheeks, are both pictures of the same blush, the new one. Hence they look the same 😛 For me, the first shade I refer to usually means the predominant shade. So, pink-peach to me means a pink blush with shades of peach, while a peach-pink would be the other way around. Not quite scientific and quite confusing, I’d agree! 😛

NARS could have thought I had too much orgasm that they stop sending me another orgasm. I mean the blush 😀
You’re right. The shimmery a bit metallicy shade isn’t for everyone. This shade reminds me of the Sleek Blush in Rose Gold. I can never wear Rose Gold but Orgasm works for me 🙂
Paris B says
Alamak! Sorry to hear they didn’t send one 🙁 You are right about the Sleek one though. I think it’s one of the dupes for Orgasm. There used to be loads out there, but these days, I don’t hear people talk about it anymore. I wonder why?
Tine @ Beautyholics Anonymous says
Oh the double entendres! I LOVE IT! KAKAKAKAKA!
Okay seriously speaking, I’m very tempted to get this one too. The original Orgasm doesn’t do jack for me. It’s definitely not a universal shade no matter how much NARS claims it to be. This one, now this one’s pretty. Like you, compared to the original Orgasm, I much prefer the Deep Throat … blush. 😉
Paris B says
I was actually surprised that this worked for me this time. But I do think you may not like it (gut feel) but still, it’s worth taking a look and see if the new Orgasm tickles your fancy 😉
Victoria Shanti says
Such a hilarious post and made me smile on a Friday morning :-). This blush looks nice and its certainly value for money. For my skin tone, should I get this one or Deep Throat? I have never owned any NARS blush and its good to start somewhere. Lol.
Paris B says
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂 If you ask me Victoria, I’d suggest you try one of the bolder shades which I think would look amazing on you! I’d suggest Taos or Taj Mahal which are both very beautiful colours but too much work for my skintone. I used to own both of them! But if you want a shade like this one, I’ll suggest Deep Throat. That said, it’s worth just trying it out in store and see how they look on you 😉
Kirana says
Hi, as you mentioned about nars orgasm code as 5192 in Malaysia, I wonder if my friend was getting me the wrong blush as the code is 4013N (for the original size) but the Sephora girl insisted it was the orgasm. Or maybe it was supposed to be the super orgasm?
Thank you!
Paris B says
Hi, Code 5192 is for this limited edition version of Orgasm. 4013 is the normal Orgasm.
