My wonderful rosey Christmas delight that is the Guerlain Rouge G Merveilleux Rose lipstick

November 9, 2015 Paris B 27 Comments

A lovely reader asked me last week on Facebook, if I was going to review any Christmas/Holiday sets/collections from Sephora or any high-end brands this year, and my answer to her was that I wasn’t. I haven’t had any access to any of the Holiday collections, and I’m not particularly keen to buy a lot of products I may not necessarily want, just for the sake of blogging about them. So, I’m spending my money on things I particularly want and enjoy.

And for me, my sole Christmas/Holiday collection purchase this year comes from Guerlain. Is it a surprise? I throw my money at Guerlain every year it seems LOL! Don’t believe me? Here’s what I bought in 2014, 2013 and 2012 just to name a few!

guerlain rouge g Merveilleux Rose

Guerlain’s theme this year appears to be that of a winter wonderland. The special edition Meteorites pearls comes housed in a jar not unlike a snowglobe, and is stated to be for face and body. In fact, the gold and white powder balls are rather sparkly, which is why despite my obsession with Guerlain Meteorites, I balked at the purchase. I know, I must be running a fever of some sort 😛

But just when I thought I’d walk away empty handed, my gaze fell on the limited edition Rouge G in Merveilleux Rose 867, and next thing you know, it was coming home with me.

While Guerlain has maintained the metallic silver packaging as in the regular line, the seasonal touches comes in the gold on the oval logo, and the snowflake design on the cover. I’ve shown last year’s Rouge G in Rose Parade for comparison. But the packaging wasn’t why I bought this – it was the colour.

Nars hopes their Dual Intensity Blush will not cause Panic but be a Jubilation

November 6, 2015 Paris B 6 Comments

Look who’s late to the party! Me, that’s who! LOL

We’re in Fall/Winter mode in the cosmetics world, and here we have, a product released by NARS as part of their Spring 2015 collection. But what the hey, it’s a permanent product, so you can still buy it if you like. Besides, friends in the Southern hemisphere are just coming on Spring… so I’m still on trend… somewhere in the world! LOL!

nars dual intensity blush - jubilation

The Nars Dual Intensity Blush is a blush counterpart to the dual intensity formula of eyeshadows they released to high acclaim some time last year. I’d never used any of them. Thought about getting the eyeshadow palette for a while but eventually passed. Each blush comes in a set of 2 shades that allows you to blend as you like.

But what makes this formula somewhat unique, is that Nars made it so it can be used wet or dry, and you get two different intensities of pigment and colour this way. Hence the name. But to use a blush wet? Gosh…. I can’t imagine it, can you?

Your Say: How far do you go to use up the last drop of your products?

November 4, 2015 Paris B 28 Comments

You’d think there aren’t many products I use up – fickle person that I am – but the truth is that I do use up quite a lot of products quite often. This is especially so with skincare. I am now quite particular about trying to finish my stuff – remind me to tell you about it another time.

But I got to wondering, just how far do you go to use up your products?

use up products

I use up toothpaste quite often – don’t you? Brushing your teeth twice a day means you go through toothpaste quite quickly. I’m quite good about using it up, and I try to squeeze out every last drop. I haven’t stooped to cutting the tube in half though! LOL 😀

When toothpastes used to come in metal tubes (hands up who remembers those!) I’d be quite good about rolling up the tube from the bottom, as we approach the end, to ensure I get out as much product as I can.

But what about facial cleansers or serums or sunscreens… or even foundations etc. Stuff that don’t come in easy to manage open mouth jars. How do you deal with those? How far do you go to use them up?

November 2, 2015 Paris B 35 Comments

Hello friends!

If you’re visiting, in the hope to see some live updates here at MWS, you’re in luck! After a week or so of hard work behind the scenes, I’d like to present to you the brand new website design of My Women Stuff!

mws new design

It has been a while since I changed my blog design and with one thing and another that’s been going on, I felt that it was time to change things around. Just like how a fresh coat of paint or rearranging the furniture around can make a house feel and look brand new, I suppose. That’s how it feels like right now 🙂

If you are reading this in an RSS reader, or in email, or if you haven’t visited the blog for a while, come over and say Hi! I don’t bite 😛 If you aren’t seeing the new design and are wondering what I’m on about, clear your browser’s cache or hit Ctrl+F5 for a hard refresh, and you should see what’s new 🙂
