Travel Tales: A Very Quick Visit to Sydney, Australia

Last month, I was given an unexpected privilege by Olay to join a few other Asian bloggers in Sydney, Australia. I didn’t quite share any travel tales from there because I actually didn’t have many! It was a very busy 2 days there working and despite it being Summer, Sydney was hit by a cold spell! Just for the 2 days I was there – what were the odds eh? 😛

But few sights seen or not, I thought I’d share them anyway. I didn’t spend any extra time coz I headed down to Melbourne the day after the activities ended, so this is the little I saw of Sydney 🙂

I took a walk down Pyrmont Bridge from the Darling Hotel where I stayed, and on my last day there, it was a hot and sunny day! So that was quite perfect for me to hang around the Harbour.

I’ll have some pictures for you so I’ll cut the chatter and just show you what I saw ok? 🙂

Instagram my week Vol. 1: The week of beauty previews

You know, I’m happy to admit I’m wrong. Sometimes.

This is one of those times. Before I got my sea legs using Instagram, I didn’t know what the fuss was about it. I even declared I’d never get on that platform. What was it? Yet another social media platform? Meh…

But then, I found that it was a very handy way to share snippets of life outside of the blog and also to share sneak previews and new beauty finds as I see them. So I started warming up to it. Some are shared through to Twitter and Facebook but I know there are not many on all the social media platforms (you guys told me as much yourself! :D) and I don’t share everything. So I’ll be sharing a selection of Instagram pictures on my blog weekly or fortnightly, just so you don’t miss out on the beauty sneak peeks and previews 🙂

When I crossed that 1000 mark on the number of pictures I’d shared and when I recently received over 1000 followers, my fate was pretty much sealed. Hello, my name is @ParisBMWS and I’m an Instagram addict 😀 Come join me, or at least find out what the photos above mean 😀

Hello hello! Just 5 more days to Christmas – are we all Christmas-gifted out yet? 😛 I didn’t do any gift guides this year (haven’t done so for the past couple of years because I’m disorganized that way hehe…) but I wanted to show you something I got for myself this year that I’m exceedingly happy about and if you like cream shadows, you may be too.

The Laura Mercier Shimmer Effects Mini Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection (RM155)!! I happen to love the formula for the LM Caviar Sticks, even better than other similar cream stick eyeshadows and I had this insane idea of picking up more of the colours.

It was opportune therefore that for Christmas 2013, there is a set of 4 mini sized caviar stick shadows in 4 colours that I’d been wanting to get in a value priced set. Win? Win! 😀

Your Say: Do you find using skincare a routine or a tedious chore?

Not very long ago, I sat down with a few girls and we got round to talking about skincare – what else eh? 😀 As we chatted, I was asked what I did for my skin care and what I used. Now, having a new found love for skincare, I have been doing a lot of homework and messing around and I was quite happy to talk about what I’d learned and what I did.

So, happily I started by saying “Ok, let’s start with cleansing. On makeup days, I cleanse 3 times and I use… ” and I started explaining how I would go at it with a micellar water and then onto a cleansing balm… and I noticed that their eyes had glazed over. I could have said “…and I finish off by applying nightingale poop all over and sealing with whale blubber” and no one would have batted an eyelid at this point.

But when they woke up from their reverie, they exclaimed at how long the process took and how troublesome it was and wasn’t there an easier, quicker way? Couldn’t they just use an all in one product, wash their face in one step, apply one cream and go off to bed? It was just too tiring and too much work applying potions and lotions and oils and creams…

And I got to wondering. Do you consider your skin care a routine or a chore?
