Clinique pushes the online shopping frontier with their new official online store in Malaysia!

October 5, 2013 Paris B 22 Comments

Last week, my friend Juan shared one of the most exciting news I’ve had for a while, which I promptly shared on the MWS Facebook Page. It was one of those things that had me going – FINALLY!

clinique website online shopping malaysia

Yes peeps.

We finally have ONE brand that’s launched its official online store! The one brand that’s at the forefront of technology would be Clinique.

I know what some of you are thinking – how is this exciting? Ah but then you have to realise that locally, I don’t know of any brands operating an official online store. We have third party online stores and some very dodgy online stores but no brand has yet set up an official one till now.

I have been browsing around the Clinique online store (www.clinique.com.my) and it looks pretty well stocked. You can find there everything that you could otherwise find at a regular Clinique counter, and there’s even free shipping and complimentary samples. Imagine. No more having to contend with pushy SAs 😛

For me, I’m terribly pleased. I have been planning to pick up the Chubby Stick Intense for the longest time but because I don’t go out to the  malls a lot anymore, I have been putting it off. Now, I can get it delivered to me.

The other great thing is that if you don’t have a Clinique counter where you live, now you can buy what you need, or replenish your supplies at your convenience. I personally think this is a wonderful move forwards and I look forward to other brands following suit. It’s about time we were able to shop at the official website locally and get proper authentic products and be able to hold someone accountable if something goes wrong.

Good job, Clinique. Now, let me go order that Chubby Stick Intense….

Are you into shopping online?

I am! I’d love to see our online shopping stores expand and for brands to get into the game because really, it’s 2013, folks. Time to embrace technology. Not all of us have the time nor inclination to head down to the counter every time we need something replenished.

Awesome news! Maybe now I can finally grab one of those reflecting concealer that I’ve always wanted without having to come face-to-face with one of those pushy SA. Luckily I manage to sneakily swatch the shades earlier this year :p

I’ve heard a lot about that concealer too! But yeah, having to deal with pushy SAs really bug me too so online shopping is awesome!

Finally! About time. Hopefully other brands would follow suit.

I prefer shopping online too, if it’s something that I’m familiar with. If I feel like I’d need to try/see the product in person prior to purchase, then it’d be saved for in-store purchases. Would like to avoid pushy SA as much as possible. 😛

Oh no, now it’ll be too easy for you. More impulse purchases. Haha! Online shopping is a dangerous habit to pick up. 😀

I know right? Impulse shopping online is the worst coz it’s as easy as clicking “Add to cart” Argh! LOL! But no, I have to be good so I’ll just get what I intend to. Looking forward to more companies joining in because really, it’s about time, people!!

I definitely prefer online shopping… if I already know what colour I like. I hope other brands start following suit too!

Ahhh! Finally! I love online shopping, everything can be done in a few clicks.

Can’t wait for other brands to follow. Definitely a good news for people like me, who doesn’t like to walk into the mall especially during weekends.

Oh, and can avoid those SAs as well. 😉

Oh gosh, I hate going to the malls on weekends too! So, I get what I need on weekdays when it’s relatively quiet. Weekends, with all the screaming kids crashing into your legs and the crowds… erm, no.

I am too! Even though I’m not really into Clinique products but yet I was happy to see local store or brands coming up with online shopping. I do hope that more local store or brands will come up with this!

Definitely! I prefer online store much more because I can take my time to choose and decide what and which I wanna get, rather than being “forced” by really pushy SAs. I mean I enjoy the real shopping but sometimes these SAs are really “unfriendly”.

I walked in with the intention to buy something but if the SA is not friendly or makes me feel uncomfortable (some SA just “look down” on you like you will never buy), I will never purchase even if the purpose to go to the mall is to buy the item. To me, its not just about the product, but a service, a personal touch. ^_^

I know what you mean, perfectly! Quite often, if I don’t get the service I expect, I leave. Never so desperate that I have to get anything immediately from one particular store. Worst case scenario, I cut out the service element and go shopping online! 😀

Kudos to Clinique! They have one of the best website around with detailed product information and price. I felt that was helpful because apart from reading reviews online, sometimes price is not included. Imagine reading so many good things about the product, walk up to the counter only to be told the price is XX and it might be beyond our budget. Therefore their website did a good job and now comes online shopping which is even better. For some of us who do not stalk malls often or too busy to interact with the BAs, I think Clinique has got the solution for the busiest or even most fussy consumer 🙂

Oh yes! I wish people would state the prices clearly because it’s one of the more helpful things to include in a review 😛 So, a well updated website is the next best thing. I hope this will be a catalyst for other brands to follow suit. Sometimes, it’s just too tiring to head down to the mall for just ONE item 😛

yay! It’s about time. I hope to see more and more follow suit from where we are. These days i’m just so not into facing conceited BA. Not pushy but conceited. I met two last weekend from the same brand at different counters! What luck. This really turns me off the brand even though the newly launched product looked promising.
I am all for online shopping. Tangs Singapore has a e-store but it’s not well-stocked. Only the basics are in. I wish they have the entire store’s product listing available. In the moment, i can’t be bothered to make my purchases online from Tangs since i can’t make complete purchase without having to go down personally most of the time.
Congratulations, Clinique Malaysia! Well done! And i hope you are here to stay for good.

Sigh, don’t these people want to make a sale? 😛 I don’t understand attitude to be honest, and it really does get worse, the higher up the price range you go, which boggles my mind even more. I think Parkson locally has an online store too but it’s so poorly stocked I wonder why they even bother 😛 I’m told that more brands will be following in Clinique’s footsteps. I think it’s wonderful!

Online shopping is a dangerous thing. Everything is virtual (you don’t actually hand over your physical credit card or cash) and by the time you receive the items the damaged is long done. :p But, I love online shopping nevertheless. 🙂

It’s the best way to get stuff you can’t physically get… or come to think of it, stuff you don’t actually need either 😛

Go check out the Jobots at Mid Valley Megamall Centre Court & experience their signature hand and arm massages, gift boxing, personalised engraving of your perfume bottles & candle jars & play with the vending machine. You could get lucky!
No prizes for guessing which Jobot installation was my favourite! The one with the dog of course! They also had a key chain with a dog. So. Bloody. Cute!!
And after so many years finally got a photo with event organizer extraordinaire @cyrus.chin because we didn’t get the white & beige memo and came instead in (unplanned) matching sunny coral instead 😂
It felt good to have makeup on, dress up and go out for a tiny little bit, and meet people I haven’t seen in literally years! Also to enjoy the scents (hard to smell with a mask on though) and the visual delights. Go check it out. They’re there at the Centre Court until Sunday 3 July.
