Win! Celebrate October Giveaway No. 6: A Brush with a Blush

October 17, 2013 Paris B

Hullo hullo! More celebratory fun ensues! This time, I wanted to share with one lucky winner 2 makeup items which are things I particularly love – blush and brushes. The blush is a Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Temptation which is a rather deep rose that I picked for being flattering on most skintones, although light skintones may find it a challenge. The brush kit was a gift from Shiseido and isn’t branded, but the brushes are lovely items that I know you’ll enjoy using.

    1. I recently bought NYX’s Matte lipstick in Indie Flick, which is a matte orange shade. ^.^ I like it because it is closer to orange than Dior’s Riviera.

    2. The first thing that comes to mind is the purple Maybelline Color Tattoo. I bought it naught a few days after reading the review here! ^.^ I use it as a base and an eyeliner, yay!

The last make up item I’ve bought is an Estee Lauder Lipgloss.. And it’s been almost a month since I’ve got it. But I have start using it.. Heee. But I love love the colour.

I’ve always been tempted to buy the stuff you’ve reviewed but we have different skintone and skintypes… so :X. The closest I’ve been to purchasing what you recommended is the Lunasol Cheek Brush N so much so that I went looking for it during a holiday trip to Hong Kong.. But it is a bit on the expensive side so I did not buy. 🙁

    1. Last week, I bought Estee Lauder’s Ultra Firming mask. It was good but, and this is a very big BUT, the smell was overwhelming. Uggh! I had to put Vicks in my nostrils.
    2. You are a very bad influence on my wallet, Paris B! Every time you review something I just want to go and run out and buy it. So far, what I have bought worked out very well for me. I’m loving the latest, Guerlain BB cream, and I have a long list of stuff to try out.

    Blush and brushes!! 😀

    1. Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate! LOL!
    2. The above speaks for itself doesn’t in? 😛 Yes, I am unashamedly greatly influenced by your reviews. So much so that it is a point of reference! When i need a new item eg. sunscreen, I will search your blog for the sunscreens u’ve review! That’s how i came to buy the Skin Aqua sunscreen and I’m loving it so far. 🙂 Will give Hada Labo a go next! hehe..

    2. I bought the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer after reading about it here, and along with MAC pro longwear has become my favourite concealer

    1. I bought YSL Rouge Volupte Shine last month when I was in Bangkok and ever since then, I have been loving it!

    2. After I read your review on the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, I rushed out to get it. It’s one of my staple foundation brushes now! Love it!

    1. The last skincare item i bought is the Senka Perfect Gel (Makeup remover). So far it is perfect to clean my light makeup without leaving any greasy feel or dryness on my face. Recommended for those who don’t like cleansing oil like me.

    2. The latest item i bought based on Paris’s review is the Hada Lado Air BB cream. I never thought BB cream can be so light. I was doubt when i tried so many BB cream out there in the market which give me greyish face. Finally, I read about your review and decided to give it one more try and I love it. Now, this BB cream is used almost everyday. Personally like your budget beauty very much, as a student, it provide most useful information for me whenever I need to hunt for new skincare/makeup items which not hurting my purse.

    1. I bought Kiehl’s deep pore cleansing masque. I like it very much and it really make my skin look clean. Even the pores is not in blackish colour! I like how it drys up and become clay.

    2. Yes. I bought Lancome Teint Miracle foundation and bought Lancome Maqui Blanc. Both work well on me and i having same problem as you as it turn oily after a few hour. Currently I am using Lancome Mat Miracle 24H and it is actually better than previous two. The texture is slightly different too.

    Can’t resist a blush 😀

    1. The last thing I bought was the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner. I quite like it though I probably prefer my Dollywink one better but that one’s harder to get here.

    2. I haven’t received it yet, but I’ll be getting the Shiseido sunscreen because of your glowing reviews. Fingers crossed I’ll like it as much as you do!

    1) Item I bought recently was the Tom Ford blush in Savage. Love it! Great pigmentation and of course the packaging is luxury.

    2) I bought the Guerlain Madame Rougit after reading your review about it and I trust your opinion on stuffs. 🙂

1/ Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lipgloss in Bellini. Love love and love it!! It’s my 3rd repurchase (if you consider the first one being snatched away by my mother =.=)

2/ Definately the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brown Pencil. You don’t know how greatful I am to you for reviewing this. It’s my Holygrail ever since! Especially with its Niigata shaped, make it so much easier to work with 🙂

    2. RMK Eyelash Curler! I even made my friend to get one for herself. Indeed a hidden gem that comes with a three star price tag ! Cant do eye make up without it now.

Last item I bought was Laura Mercier’s Second Skin Cheek Colour in Orange Blossom. I love it!!! Never thought I’d like something with “Orange” in its name but it looks very natural on me (medium fair) and on the SA (fair) and I’m happy to say I’ve hit the pan! =D

I was on the hunt for a cheaper cleansing milk (I was using Lancome’s all the while) and saw your review on Yves Rocher Hydrating Cleansing Milk. Tried it at the store, it was ok but when I used it at home, there’s a stinging sensation on my face >.< It's also not very viscous so it's sitting in a corner now…

I bought (and have been using for the past 4 days) the Missha Time Revolution Best Selling trial set (Time Revolution Essence and the Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule). It’s supposed to be a dupe for the SKII Facial Treatment and the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I have been using the Essence in place of my Hada Labo lotion at night, followed by the ampoule after (which is a serumy type thing). I like it a lot so far! Too early to tell, but I’m already noticing lessened redness, which is what makes it so popular in the first place.

Your post on the Shiseido Camellia blush is what made me call up stores here and reserve one ASAP. And you’re right – it’s pretty, both in the packaging and on the skin! I’ve also found that using different combinations/intensities of the colors make it work well with most of my lipsticks.

    1. I bought the Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Hydrating Cleansing Milk and Refreshing Gel Cleanser. I like them both.

    2. I have lost count of the products you reviewed that I purchased. Most of them were great. Still have a long list of to try products which you recommended. Thanks for your recommendation.

hi Paris! I’m a long time reader but this is my first comment. tempted by the Chanel blush, I guess.
    1. I bought Sulwhasoo Harmonizen cream last month and I love all about it! the soothing scent and texture are my favorite. It makes my acne calm overnight, provide enough hydration for my skin, reduce skin discoloration. unfortunately, it isn’t available in Malaysia.
    2. I always check for your review especially for sunscreen. I moved to Malaysia last year, but have been reading your blog from years ago. I am so glad that you always share on FB about new products that you found in drugstore (e.g: maybelline color tatto and HL exfoliating toner). I always hunt for those items right away. thanks to you Paris, I am now a loyal customer of Hada Labo and Kose softymo cleansing oil.

    1. The last make up item I bought was Maybelline’s Colour Tattoos in Bad to the Bronze. The staying power is great, but I do wish they had more matte neutrals..Thinking of getting the Taupe colour soon!

    2. I’ve been influenced to try out and get Dior’s Eau Delice and Clinique almost lipstick in “Luscious Honey” after reading your reviews. The Eau Delice perfume is my current go-to whenever the weather is hot. As for Luscious Honey, I really love the colour but I don’t get as much uses out of it as I’ve got so many (red)lipsticks! HAHA

    1. I bought the Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef. I like the cream to powder texture of the blush and it’s really flattering on my NC25 skin! Great pigmentation for a drug store brand and the lasting power is not too bad.

    2. YES. The Guerlain Meteorites and the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Both are now staples in my makeup and skincare routine. Like you said, the Meteorites are my little bit of luxury in the morning.

    Woohooo!! I need a good blusher :))

What was the last makeup or skincare item you bought and did you like it?
Bought a mineral powder blush from Loving Minerals. Bought the bestseller colour and it turned out to be too red for me 🙁

Have you been influenced by a review here on MWS to purchase anything and if so, did it work for you?
Definitely!! Who hasn’t ? This is where I found my skin care must have! Avene spray!! Without it I think my skin would be dead 😮

    1. The last makeup I’ve bought is Cyber Color Eyebrow Pencil in Brown. So far, I’m pretty satisfy with it at such a lower price (RM13+ for 2 during Sasa Sales). Whereas the last skincare item I’ve bought is Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk. I’m still in the midst of trying this out, so far so good.

    2. Yes, I’ve bought and stop buying (those I’m interested before seeing any MWS reviews) few things after reading some reviews here on MWS. Hahaha!!! They are Lucas’ Papaw Ointment, Dermalogica Cleansing Oil, Bioderma Cleansing Water, Estee Lauder ANR, etc. And to my surprise, I like all of them except Lucas’ Papaw which is 90% applicable to my skin. I’ve a buying list that being influenced by MWS for future purchase, and one of them is Nars Radiant Cream Concealer~
