No. 5 already! Might this be the last one?
Celebrate October Giveaway No. 5 gives you a treat for the eyes, lips and face with a makeup base, fluttery lashes with mascara and a lovely pout with a lovely lip colour that’s wearable daily. I knew most of you wouldn’t dare flaunt the reds so I kept it simple, but included a brand new item from the Shiseido Fall Collection in the form of a golden gloss, so you can jazz up your lips for the coming party season!
A little bit about my Celebrate October Giveaways for the newbies amongst us. As a matter of principle, I don’t run many giveaways on my blog so I appreciate that those of you who do stop by, find the content interesting and useful and stay for the content. To thank you for your support throughout the year I try to find ways to reward you and these gift packs this year are my way of saying thank you. They all contain at least 1 personal favourite item which regulars will readily identify 😉
So, how do you go about winning this kit for yourself? Hopalong and find out.

The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
It is interesting because the story is about human drama, intrigue, the struggle for survival and ultimately the triumph of good over evil.
I read quite a number of blogs on a daily basis. If I’m interested on a certain topic/review, I’ll just keep a note of it for future reference. I don’t usually comment, but if I do it would probably be the comment box.
My latest read was Ooh La La by Jamie Cat Callan.
I recommend this for light reading.. i actually prefer her earlier book – Bonjour Happiness.
If i read blogs during the day i am unlikely to interact (usually i need to attend listen in mode calls, so i catch up on more interesting reads instead). But if i do, i prefer via blog as i wont be cluttered with numerous Facebook pings 🙂
1.What was the last book you read and do you recommend it?
Gone with the wind
It’s an amazing story and provides a different perspective on the American Civil War which is always interesting
Are you more likely to interact with us in the comment box of a blog post, or through a social media channel? If you don’t interact, is there a reason why not?
I like interacting through the comment box because of its anonymity! 😀
Last book I read-Curtain:Poirot’s Last Case, the final book in the Poirot series by Agatha Christie. Very sad story to see Hercule Poirot solve his last case ever….. I’m a HUGE fan of Agatha Christie, I think I have more than half her collection of mysteries! Love mysteries and thrillers in general.
I would prefer to comment directly on the post itself as to me it seems more…”related”? as in I think it’s easier to see the comment in its context of a discussion between readers. Plus I tend to get FB updates later than the actual post itself so it’s easier for me.
Last book read was Pure Gold by David McCasland, a biography of Eric Liddell the Olympic champion. Very inspirational so definitely recommended!!
I prefer to comment here in the blog simply cos it’s not so public 🙂 I’m shy that way. Haha
1. The Painted Lady by Maeve Haran. I would recommend it if you are into historical novels. I am cause I love the glimpse into how life was in a whole different era from us and hence thoroughly enjoyed the book.
2. More likely through blog post as I never do follow bloggers on socia media. I do check out the blogs I like (yours included of course) daily though.
Last book I read was Lies that Chelsea Handler told me by Chelsea’s family, friends and other victims. It is definitely a must read for anyone who wants to laugh, although it is a little racy. Its hilarious and a good read when you’re sad or need a pick me up.
I am not really a big fan of social media, but i love reading blogs and comments because i get to read something i am interested in.(in this case make up) I especially love it when the blogger replies to the comments and answers questions, it just seems more personal.
1. The last book I read was called ” memoirs of a geisha ” by Arthur Golden . Actually , I read this book for about 2-3 times encounting cause it is just that good! And yes , I would definitely recommend it as it teaches you about the culture of olden japan and the hardships of an unfortunate girl later turned fortunate.
2. Most likely the comment box ~ as I’m not really a very active person on social media channels !well maybe except twitter but I just randomly scroll for the feel ha!
1.What was the last book you read and do you recommend it?
The last book I read was “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe. Not sure if I would recommend it or not. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending, but at the same time it really lived up to the title.
2.Are you more likely to interact with us in the comment box of a blog post, or through a social media channel? If you don’t interact, is there a reason why not?
I’m MUCH more likely to interact via the comment box. I feel like it’s more personal for some reason?? Plus I don’t really do social media in general.
The last book I actually finished reading was 1Q84 by Murakami Haruki (or should I say books, since there are 3 in the series). And I would definitely recommend it. While Murakami’s got a very distinctive style that’s not for everyone, I am not a big fan of sappy romance novels or serious sci-fi, so I really enjoy his absolutely majestic game with the idea of alternate realities, supernatural phenomena that co-exist with humans and the general themes of humanity, sanity and even love that thread through the story line. Also, I absolutely adore the musicality of each of Murakami’s pieces. If you pick up 1Q84, I strongly recommend finding Janacek’s Sinfonietta to play in the background when reading, it lifts the story to a whole new level!
As for interaction – I’m one to comment on the blog itself, rather than social media channels. To me it just seems like a slightly more personal means of communication, since it’s the blog that I read and love, and social media channels are more of an extension to that (for me, personally). They are certainly handy to keep track of the author’s life, although I’m not one to riffle through dirty laundry, sort to speak..To me, reading and interacting through the blog is usually sufficient enough.
I just finished Matilda by Roald Dahl. I didn’t read any Roald Dahl as a kid so was curious about his writing. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I found it slightly too strange. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is really good though.
I prefer the comment box. It somehow gives a less public feel.
1. My last book was “Flavored Butters” by Lucy Vaserfier. It’s a recipe book about making savory and sweet flavored butters. I do recommend it. It just makes your dishes more classy and it’s all not too difficult. Here’s one simple recipe to share.
Orange honey butter:
1 stick unsalted butter
2 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
Blend all. Refrigerate until firm before use.
This goes well with scones and bread.
2. I prefer to interact in the comment box of a blog post. It’s more convenient to reference should i re-read the article again.
1.The island-Victoria Hislop!
2.I prefer to comment in the blog cause it’s not so public!
#1: Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. It’s riveting and reads very different from other historical fiction. A really different perspective if you already know a bit about Henry VIII and that period in England.
#2: Definitely the blog – it feels like a private meeting point for this enclave within a community of skincare and makeup lovers. MWS is like a quiet cafe where likeminded people meet as compared to the social media marketplace that is twitter, instagram or facebook where people shove content in your face and shout to be seen / heard / noticed.
Last book I read was an oldie but goodie : My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell.
Yes I don’t mind posting on this blog. I’m all right with other social media channels as well.
Thanks for the giveaway and this set looks absolutely lovely 🙂
The last book I read? Gah, I haven’t had time to read in a long time T_T The last one I read that I remember liking was A Fine and Private Place, by Peter Beagle. Very good!
I comment and tweet, but it’s easier for me to use Twitter while I’m on the go (which seems like it’s always T_T).
1. There Is Nothing Wrong with You: Going Beyond Self-Hate-Huber, Cheri, It is a very inspiring book, I recommend this book for anyone on a self-healing journey.
2- Social media!
The last book I read was a chinese book by Hiyawu (a Taiwanese blogger/writer) named??????Liu nong ka fei guan). Highly recommended for those who can read chinese and love light love story. Unexpected ending with regrets but love the way he write.
I like interaction with bloggers in comments. Really appreciate when bloggers reply readers comments. (Feel that I am not ignored 🙂 )
The last book I read was a Chinese book by Hiyawu (a Taiwanese blogger/writer) named ????? (Liu nong ka fei guan)?Highly recommended for those who can read chinese and like love story. Love the detailed description on every scene as if I was in the story. Unexpected ending which surprise me and can’t stop reading it all over again.
I like to have interaction with bloggers in comments rather than in FB . Blogging world make me feel much more closer to each other. Really appreciate when bloggers reply readers comments. (This makes me feel that I was appreciated too~~~)
Aiks, I found my 1st entry not appear in the comments after I did it as I accidentally press the ‘submit’ tab too fast so I submitted the 2nd one. But the 1st one surprisingly appear again. Is there anyway to remove it?
