So, how are you doing this bright breezy Monday morning? Nevermind if you’re feeling peaky or blue. Come join in the celebrations here at MWS in the third (count that, 3!) Celebrate October Giveaway!
For the uninitiated (in which case, maybe you are missing out on lots more than just this giveaway series) the Celebrate October Giveaway series celebrates… October. We all have a favourite month, mine is October. All prize packs are sponsored by me, moi and I by way of a thank you for all your support through the year and years; and they will contain at least 1 personal favourite item.
This 3rd one is a beaut and a celebration of some good high end and low end makeup! We kicked off with makeup, we had some hair and body treats and now, we’re back to makeup and… the famed Bioderma Micellar Cleansing Water! We don’t have it here in Malaysia yet 🙂 I will note however, that I will not send it overseas. So, while this giveaway is open worldwide, if you win and you reside outside of Malaysia, the Bioderma will be omitted from the prize pack as it will cost too much and it is far too liquid to transport. Deal? Ok, here we go!
Celebrate October Giveaway #3: Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Water travel size 100ml (read my review), Laura Mercier Foundation Primer 14.7ml, L’Oreal Shine Caresse liquid lipstick in Faye, Chanel Illusion d’Ombre 85 Mirifique (Sparkly black).
There are 2 things to note in this prize pack:
- If this prize pack is sent overseas, the Bioderma cleansing water will NOT be included.
- In the process of photographing this set, my finger accidentally grazed the surface of the brand new Chanel shadow, where I have indicated in the photo below. It was inadvertent but I had to point it out.
For a chance to win this set, here’s what you have to do (and it does not involve you selling your kidney)
Leave a comment below and tell us the following:-
- If I were visiting you in your town or city, where is the first place you’d take me when I arrive? AND
- Do you use the navigation bar at the top of this page (About, Budget Beauty etc) and do you find it useful?
- Bonus entry (optional): A question will be popping up on Instagram so answer it there for a bonus entry. You’ll know it when you see it, so follow the instructions there! (Not necessary to post it here but it is additional to No. 1 and 2)
Please feel free to share the news of this giveaway with your friends.
Some things to take note are:-
- Deadline for entries will be 12noon 10 October 2013 (+8GMT). Winners will be picked at the end of the October from the comments received, and announced on my social media channels and notified by email.
- This one is open worldwide (but the Bioderma item will not be shipped outside of Malaysia).
- If new, here are the general terms and conditions applicable to all giveaways on MWS.
Have fun and good luck!
Paris B
WINNER: LISA Winner will be contacted by email

1. Funny Mountain tau foo fah because you’ve been talking about it and you said you don’t know how to get there 😀
2. Sometimes. I have a thing for nav bars and am always curious how other sites do it. But I usually just do a search because you have a vast amount of content and I’m usually pretty certain what I want to know (e.g. a certain product, your thoughts on some shopping site, etc) Personally, I don’t find nav bars that useful in general because your search is powered by Google and honestly, we’ve been spoilt by how easy it is to have info at our fingertips. But for users who want to browse all posts by a certain category, you can’t move away from it.

The first place that I ll be bringing you to will be Penang Road in Penang to have the famous Penang Cendol!!!
I do use the navigation bar occasionally. It’s helpful for me to search back the posts that I wish to read one more time.
Thanks Paris B!

OOOOooo I LOVE penang road’s cendol!!! I can have 2 bowls at the same time, after 2 bowls of asam laksa, that is. :p

I’d bring you to your hotel to rest first! haha but other than that, I’d definitely bring you to The Rocks where a lot of the old style wharf buildings from the 1800’s are preserved and have now been converted into restaurants and shops.
I use the navigation bar at the top of the page occasionally and I think it is useful, but I much rather use the search bar because most of the time when I’m here and I’m looking for something, I know exactly what it is I’m after.

If you were visiting Sao Paulo, I’d take you downtown. It is a very interesting mix of old and new, poor and rich, bustling with life. You can find the opulence of the past, side by side with stark new glass walled skyscrapers, renovated buildings, churches and an urban park. It can be a bit chaotic to a foreigner, and it is surely not the safest place to be, but its beauty is undeniable. For architects, at least.^^
I must say I have used the bar before, when I was looking for a specific entry, but it’s very rare. I prefer to let the entries pile in my feed reader and read them all later.

1. The first place that I will take you will be to Intramuros and Fort Santiago so that you will see some of our historical landmarks plus you will learn a little bit of our history too. 🙂
2. Yes, I use it but not very often. Useful if I have to look up for something.

1. I’ll bring you to taste the famous kopitiam (Fu Yuen) in KK and then check in hotel for a rest before further exploring.
2. Personal favorite tab: Budget beauty. Your review provide useful information for me to choose new things to explore. As a student, budget is the main thing to consider when purchasing. Hada Labo Air BB cream was bought after reading your review.

If you were visiting my city (London) … I would take you to visit somewhere amazing but less ‘touristy’. My pick would be Hampton Court Palace 🙂 it is one of the surviving palaces owned by Henry VIII and has Tudor and Baroque styles side by side. I remember you mentioning your visit to Prague so I think you’ll like this visit. We’d sit by the flowers and take lots of photographs, chat a little or just relax.
I’d also take you for some proper sandwiches – or maybe a cream tea 🙂

Oops, sorry… I knew there was something I was missing!
No, I don’t use the navigation bar at all. I subscribe and read your posts through feeds. Fortunately I accidentally thumbed this post again and realised I was missing something.

1. The first question is so difficult since I’m as local as you are! Haha! I’d say a day of food tripping perhaps— starting with either dim sum or nasi lemak in the morning depending on which would suit your fancy.
2. Does using the home button logo count? 😛 I’ve been reading most of your posts for quite a few years running so unfortunately I’ve little use for that navigation bar but when I first found your blog, I used it quite a bit to pick out posts that interest me.

1. Come JB and I’ll bring you to this famous mee rebus near the coastal area where you can see Singapore right opposite. It’s by far one of the best Mee Rebus I’ve ever tasted.
2. Yes, I used it if I’m looking for something specific. To be exact, I like the Beauty Budget the most. That come to my mind, you can probably talk about facial mask on this. The high end vs drugstore facial mask. 🙂

1. If you’re visiting Sibu, the first place I will bring you to is the latest tourist and students’ attraction – UCTS – the very first first University in Malaysia to achieve a GBI “Platinum Index.” Then, I will bring you for a food-hunt adventure to experience our local delicacies – kampua, kompia, din piang hu and many more!
2. I do use the navigation button from time to time if I would like to find out about certain information.

If you are visiting Sentul, I will bring you to Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang for their famous fish head curry and steamed stingray. The former has thick gravy and large chunks of snapper fish with brinjal, long beans, lady’s fingers, tofu pok and curry leaves and the latter has is covered with a thick layer of really spicy sambal that is sweet and very addictive. Yums!
I find the navigation bar pretty useful when I need to read your archives. I know you can always Google but I prefer the bar because if for example I need to search something on lipstick, it would show me all the post of lipstick which you have done so far. I recently used the bar to search for exactly that and was amazed at the number of lipstick post you have done so far. LOL.

Depending on the time you arrive, your taste penchant + how hungry you are. Early breakfast – a bak kut teh joint in Kepong near FRIM or nasi lemak near the Segambut/Duta postcode merge. Lunch – chilli pan mee in KL or across the border to PJ -char kwei teow or prawn mee/curry mee (which can be for dinner also). Supper – my favourite roti chanai/indomie goreng sotong joint.
If you are hungry for shopping instead, Mid Valley/Gardens to warm up.
When I first started following your blog, I used the navigation panel a lot – useful for skimming through for items under specific topics but now, having gone through almost all, I just go with the current flow. But once a while, I still hit the navigation panel.

1. I’d take you to my house to freshen up first. No need to stay in a hotel when you’re in Ipoh. Then I would take you to Gunung Lang Recreational Park which is just across the main road from our housing area. It has a beautiful view of limestone hills surrounding a mining pool. Very zen-like. We bring all friends, local and foreign, to this place. Never fails to impress. Then we can go makan-makan. 🙂
2. I use the nav bar when I want to look for something specific from your old postings.
BTW, I didn’t want to join the giveaway, because I got the EL Nutritious serum before. I wanted to give some other reader a chance to win something, but this #3 is too good to pass up. So I’ll keep my fingers crossed I’ll get chosen again.

1) If you were visiting me in my town Petaling Jaya, the first place I’d take you when you arrive is my most favourite place to unwind which would be my favourite spa, so we both can get to know each other by pampering ourselves with a massage, and mani pedi package.
2) I use the navigation bar at the top of this page (About, Budget Beauty etc) becaue its very clear and concise and located in a strategic location on your webpage. I do find it useful because the contents are very informative and its very easy to navigate.
