Clinique Chubby Stick For Eyes : Lavish Lilac for hot, humid, lazy days

July 8, 2013 Paris B 33 Comments

I’ve got a thing for these stick eyeshadow in recent times. They are so easy to slick on for a very simple eye look that anyone, yes, anyone can have polished eye makeup on in hardly any time at all. Perfect for hot days, lazy days and in-an-eyeshadow-rut days. I am nodding to every single one of those days. I haven’t gotten out of my rut as you might expect 😛

The Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes to give it their full name, was launched overseas some time last year in 2012 if I recall correctly. They only arrived on our shores earlier this year, and erm… yeah its taken me a while to get to them. Hello July! 😛

I must say though that its worth the wait, because I think these pencils are very nice. If you’re the sort who’d want just a light wash of colour over the lids and don’t want to fuss too much with crease shades and highlighter, and you want something that lasts then do take a look at these. These are like beginner eyeshadows or lazy day eyeshadows – no fuss, no muss 🙂 I know I told you that I loved the Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow but these, they’re almost half the price and do the job! So, why not? 😉

Baby its cold outside… What shoes to wear for cold weather travel?

July 7, 2013 Paris B 42 Comments

shoes in winter travel

I got a very interesting question from reader Irene in her comment on one of my posts about what footwear I’d wear when I travel during colder or winter months, and I need to walk a lot. It was so interesting, I thought it merited a post all of its very own! (See why you should ask questions? You may help someone else and you give me blog ideas! Win! 😀 )

Anyway, I thought I’d quickly share the shoes I wear when I travel, most of which I’ve realised have been with me for quite a while. I walk a lot when I’m on holiday for some strange reason. I don’t walk very much here in Malaysia haha! I’m a lazy bum 😛 But I’ve worked out after quite a lot of trial and error that these are the shoes I feel more comfortable to travel in when its cold. I usually look for certain key traits in my travel footwear, not necessarily brands.

I don’t profess to know it all, of course, since I do come from a tropical country and this isn’t meant for those of you who are planning to travel to the cold outposts of Siberia or even to places that are covered deep in snow or where the weather drops into the negatives. I’ve never done that and I’d imagine you’d need something much hardier. If you do live somewhere which gets cold, I’d love to hear your suggestions. Never a better way to learn than from a local! 🙂

Amani Salon & Wellness Centre: Taking a spa journey at the edge of the city

July 5, 2013 Paris B 10 Comments

amani salon & wellness centre

The invitation to visit a new spa centre in town arrived at a rather opportune time. A few weekends of jetsetting (hur hur) and full work weeks in between have taken its toll on my poor ol’ body and I was starting to have trouble sleeping. Its like your body knows its tired and that it needs rest but it just can’t, if you know what I mean.

Amani Salon & Wellness Centre is a new spa/salon that just opened in February 2013 and is located in The Scotts Garden, Old Klang Road. Parking is relatively ample and so far, quite affordable which is a good thing because their signature package, which I think you should try if only for the experiece, is a 4 hour long journey. Oh yeah… 😉

I’ll tell you a little more about it and if you are good and indulge me till the very end, you’ll see that I’ve wrangled a nice little discount for MWS readers who’d like to try this. So, indulge me k? 😉

Clinique promises that the new formula of the yellow moisturizing lotion will be Dramatically Different, Plus!

July 4, 2013 Paris B 51 Comments

clinique new dramatically different + lotion

Hands up everyone who is familiar with this yellow lotion from Clinique! Come on come on, don’t be shy 😀

I’m sure many of you would have, at one point or another tried the very popular Clinique 3 Step system and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion or Gel. I have but the Clinique basic skincare range doesn’t suit my skin. Breaks it out, in fact. My skin plays much better with Clinique’s targeted products e.g. Moisture Surge Gel Cream or the Youth Surge Cream and their serums.

So, when under hush-hush circumstances, in the confines of the historic Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, it was unveiled to the press recently that Clinique was reformulating their iconic Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, you could almost hear the collective gasps of surprise in the room. Beauty editors are usually very poised and unflustered people but you could see the well groomed eyebrows shoot up into the air when the news was announced.

You will see the new Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + (note the Plus please!) roll out in stores starting from about now and it will be out in full force in July 2013. I’ll just share a little about what’s new, gleaned from what we were told, and briefly how I found it.
