Cle de Peau Beaute is a brand I’ve always wanted to try but never summed up the guts to. Despite the French sounding name that means “key to beautiful skin”, this is a brand owned by Shiseido and belongs in the premier league. I once had the opportunity to try a Facial Contour Serum a couple of years ago, which I really liked, not because it did contour my face, but because it made me skin feel and look so smooth and firm. Couldn’t upkeep it though because of the price, so that was that 😛
But recently, I was given the opportunity to try something from Cle de Peau – their facial services. This is not a known fact that Cle de Peau offers facial services, but you can’t just waltz in, pay and book a slot. Facial services are “complimentary” with purchases.
I did find out that first time customers can experience their 60 minute “Soin de Beaute Intensive Facial” worth RM300 with a minimum RM250 purchase, and I thought it was a good way to introduce customers to the brand and its products. I will just tell you a little bit about the facial I had, which was a lovely experience, and you can tell me if you’ve ever tried anything from the brand.
The facial cabin I went to is situated behind the Cle de Peau counter at Parkson Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. You would never know it was there – I certainly did not! The room that you see above is rather narrow but not claustrophobic and the ambient lighting made it look and feel very cosy.
You are requested to change into a tube robe provided for you and here’s another thing I appreciated. The bed is kept warm and it is just the right warmth to be comforting. So comforting that I was just about ready to doze off even before the facial began.
I had the 60 minute facial and the beautician told me that she would do something brightening for my dull skin. Being just a 60 minute facial, you get the usual makeup removal, cleansing, toning, face massage, mask and then moisturiser. I’m not sure what happened after the face massage because I was off in dreamland by then 😛
I know that when the mask was applied, there was a lovely hand massage included as well. I liked the dim interior, the calm, smooth movements of the beautician and the firm but not rough pressure applied to the skin. It was an oasis of calm in a bustling mall in the middle of the bustling KL city and I desperately needed that calm after battling the traffic.
The only problem I had, not only with this room, but with any in-mall facial cabin, is the noise level. Unless the rooms are sound proofed, or the doors well padded, external noise does filter into the room and disturb the calmness of the facial procedure. On the day I was there, it was early evening on a weekday so the store wasn’t as busy but there were customers at the Cle de Peau counter and I could hear them asking questions and talking to each other and that was distracting. Better soundproofing would be good.
Post-facial, I did notice that my skin looked clearer and better but then it always does, doesn’t it? All that pampering to the skin is lovely and the best part is that despite the layering of serum and moisturisers, my skin did not feel nor look oily. It felt comfortable and looked well rested and clear. If you’d rather not walk around bare faced after your facial, they do offer a quick touch up with the Cle de Peau makeup but I chose not to. No point putting on makeup on a cleansed and treated face when there was no where I was headed to but home 🙂
I did ask the beautician if it was possible to pay for a facial or a mini package but was told that it was not possible at this time. For now, facials are exclusive to customers who buy a minimum amount from Cle de Peau so I suppose its a form of “reward” for loyal customers. It would be lovely to be able to just pay for the facial, because I know I would!
For now, there are 3 different facials offered with different tiers of purchases required:-
- Soin de Beaute Intensive Facial (60 minutes worth RM300) – Minimum RM600 purchase or RM250 for first timers
- Radiance Emanates from Within Facial (45 minutes worth RM250) – Minimum RM450 purchase
- Masque de Beaute Relaxing Facial Massage (30 minutes worth RM150) – Minimum RM350 purchase
Let me just say that its not hard to hit the minimum purchase – Cle de Peau prices are high as they are categorized as a luxury cosmetics brand. If you’d like to experience this facial and are a first time customer then you’re in luck of course. RM250 isn’t too hard to reach and you will have 1 hour of pure bliss, complimentary 🙂 I personally plan to take advantage of that 😉
Have you tried anything by Cle de Peau? Did you know about their facial packages before this?
Many years ago, I’d also owned one of the Cle de Peau eyeshadow singles. The quality was sublime – soft, pigmented and very lovely on skin. But I soon realised I was allergic to them 🙁 The only skincare I’ve tried is the Facial Contour Serum which is lovely but is also, I believe close to RM500 a tube and that made me pause. At least now I know I’d get a facial for my wallet pains 😉

Cle de Peau Facials are available at Parkson Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and are complimentary with minimum purchase of products from the brand.

Wow I didn’t know they do this. At least I’ve never seen one at my counter. If they have this in the U.S. I would totally buy a few products so I can get a free facial.

I don’t know if its a service they offer in the US too but it might be worth asking and see? I think they may offer Cle de Peau facials in other parts of the world, but here they don’t have a salon hence the in store “complimentary” offer 🙂

I had it last year at Isetan KLCC cabin too, don’t like the noise. I’d rather pay for a quiet and relaxing room for my facial 🙂
Paris B says
I don’t know how it was at KLCC but the one at Pavilion wasn’t too bad. Just a little noisy because Pavilion isn’t as busy I think LOL! 😉

Ooh, purchase RM250 for 1st timer, that is really nice. I hope Cle de Peau still have this special facial when I finally able to get their products. Still on skincare shopping ban. But if we need to book another time or day for facial instead of continue with the facial after payment, that would be quite inconvenient for some, err, inconvenient to me… hmm.
Paris B says
Its a long term thing, Bugs so it’ll still be there. I don’t think you can redeem it immediately though unless they have a space available. I realise that’s a bit of a hassle but if you are around the area its worth making a reservation and coming back because the facial is so nice! 😛

ABout S$105 for 37g.. so far so good..it can really minimise the pores and the skin looks more radience… 🙂
Paris B says
Ah so they have a similar deal in Singapore too! Nice! I have heard that their concealer is supposed to be very very good. I suppose I should give them a shot. Thanks for sharing your faves from the brand. It’s so new to me!

Where is the facial, may i know? Do i need to ask for this free facial or they state it on their shop or something? Coz i cannot find it.
EL says
Down to the last bit of concealer so glad u posted this although I wish they told me about this last time 🙁 I guess u were invited for a review? Just hoping they won’t be hard sell at the end of it.
Paris B says
I’m guessing the concealer is good stuff? I don’t know why they didn’t tell you before 🙁 but now you know, you can remind them of it 😉 Yes I was invited to try the facial and they did sit me down with a cup of tea after that to tell me a bit more about the products but I didn’t get the hard sell. Perhaps its because they aren’t a salon and most people who will buy their products are regulars/familiar? After all, the facial is just a GWP as it were 😉 Do let me know how it goes, if you do buy something and go for the facial 🙂
Makeup Morsels says
oh my, that sounds like a heavenly experience. They really should start offering this as a separate service, bet it would be really popular!
Paris B says
I reckon it would be, especially because the products are so pricey to start with. It’ll be a good way to try them or at least to treat the skin 😉
Linda says
That facial sounds lovely! I’m always interested to try Cle de Peu, but i just dont know where to start!
Paris B says
Me neither, to be honest! Some have talked about the concealer and in terms of skincare, it would seem that most of the products are impressive. Still much too pricey for my wallets though.
