A couple of months ago, I was wandering around Starhill Gallery when I came upon the Sergio Rossi store. I’m not familiar with the shoe brand although I have heard of it. It just didn’t quite stay in my consciousness. But that evening, I peered in the window, saw an absolutely lovely pair of blue pumps (I don’t have blue pumps!) and a small sign with the 4 letter word we so love – S.A.L.E! So I stepped in.
Mistake.
I have not stopped lusting after the shoes since!
The shoes, even on sale, sported a 4 figure price tag so I was content to just try them on for size and comfort and walk away. It was the comfort level that really blew me away, because I could have sworn up and down that a shoe that looks like the one above, would not be comfortable. I mean, look at that spindly stiletto heel! That pointy tip! That height!
But you know, it was comfortable. Very comfortable! Darn 😛
It was my first time trying on a pair of Sergio Rossi pumps, and they were impressively comfortable despite the height. The carpet in the store was a thick pile carpet but even then, I did not feel like I was about to twist my ankle and break my neck.
The height felt comfortable, I did not notice the super thin stiletto heels and I could walk upright, without having to compensate by leaning forward as sometimes happens when you wear a shoe that’s too high for you. I could walk quite normally and that is saying something.
I was particularly taken in with some nude pumps in store. The ones with a platform, as you see in this image above, were very comfortable. They did not feel heavy nor clunky. I also tried on a pair of blue suede heels quite similar to the electric blue one above, and they too felt very comfortable. I caught sight of myself in the mirror in store, and went “Damn! Those shoes make my legs look like they go on forever!”
The only shoes that I felt did not feel quite as comfortable was the ones with lower heels or flats. That was a surprise! Also, I take a EUR36 and the fit was spot on. I could and would have walked out of the store with a pair of lovely nude pumps, if sanity did not prevail 🙂
I’ll still lusting after them though. Maybe next sale 😉
Does anyone own a pair of Sergio Rossi heels? Is it love or should there be something I should be concerned about?
I’d love to know if anyone does own a pair of SR shoes and can share their thoughts on them. Are they worth the splurge? Are they comfortable? 😀

I always believe if the shoe fits and is super comfortable, get it! 😀
There are other shoes that look like the above but will they be as comfortable? 😉
Paris B says
LOL!! Yeah I believe the same… but when its a 4 digit shoe, I tend to think about it a wee bit more 😉 Will check out the next sale. Maybe there’ll be something more affordable 😉
LeGeeque says
Can’t put a price tag to comfort, darling 😉 i am willing to buy them blindly if they are comfortable
Paris B says
And these are! 😉
dimpy says
I feel the same for Charles & Keith shoes…they have these thin heels but man they are sooo comfy to walk in!!
Paris B says
Ahhh I’ve heard so much about the comfort of Charles & Keith but I can’t wear them 🙁 Great to know they work for you though – they have some pretty shoes!
Sze Ling says
O_o Four figures still? After a sale? -faint-
But hey, comfortable heels are hard to come by, especially for us flat feet gals.
And I have a weakness for nude pumps. 😛
Paris B says
Haha… yeah still 4 figures. There was one with 3 figures but it wasn’t as pretty >.< I am on a nude pump hunt actually. I just realised I don't own a pair LOL!
Sam says
Ooh, lovely! Do it next sale!
Paris B says
haha I’ll start buying lottery tickets in the meantime 😉
Hanny Daforcena says
I have a pair of Charles and Keith pumps that I love to death and is comfortable as heck (after I got them stretched a little) heh heh heh~ Sometimes a girl has to go out on a whim to get a shoe, no? The words “comfortable” and “heels” don’t come together often, I say: SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY!
Paris B says
Yeah that’s the thing about heels and comfort. Two words that don’t go together >.< I'll start buying 4D in the meantime, while I wait for the next sale LOL!
Becca says
Those blue suede ones…*swoon!*
Paris B says
Riiiight??? *swoons with you*
Chia Callie says
I’ve many pairs of 4″ and I tell you, if they are comfortable, GET THEM OR YOU WILL REGRET LATER! Sorry about the caps but I need to express myself so you’ll understand why I feel comfort is VERY impt especially when it comes to heels. We are to be in them for many hrs a day so I say spending money on comfort for shoes is money well spent! Perhaps you can consider getting only 1 or 2 pairs? I’m sure they’ll last you a while too…
Paris B says
I have no doubt about it, Callie! 😀 I am more willing to splurge on a good pair of shoes too. Never used to but I figured that my comfort (and back) was worth it. I’m not sure I’m in Sergio Rossi territory yet but I’ll most definitely be keeping an eye out for similarly comfortable shoes 😉 What’s your fave?
Chia Callie says
I don’t have any favourites. My shoes are mostly bought from Aldo. I’m thinking of venturing to Steve Madden ones. We’ll see. I’ve been giving my 4″ heels a miss for the sake of my feet.
Paris B says
Lucky you to be able to wear Aldo shoes! My feet hated them 🙁 As well as Steve Madden, and I”ve seen some cute ones in SM
Chia Callie says
Paris, I treat my feet with care now. My shoes from Aldo isn’t exactly very comfortable. I usually wear them to work in the morning and once I reach the office, I change to my sandals. Before knocking off, I change into heels again so really, there’s not many hours clocked in. Also, I go for foot reflexology once every fortnight. I only started to do that last month. Right now, I’m only short of apply cream on them every night. Still too lazy to do that. Yikes! ^^
On another note, the Dior foundation brush IS indeed cheaper in Malaysia. I’m going to buy it for sure this month… ^^
Paris B says
Ahh you put me to shame, taking such good care of your feet! 😀 And yes, the Dior brush does sound like its cheaper here – happy shopping! 😀
Kay says
Sorry, don’t have any Sergio Rossi shoes so I can’t answer how good they are, but personally I wouldn’t buy shoes that pricey. Maybe a classic bag, but not shoes. Shoes get beaten up exposed to table legs, rocks, rain, holes. One step into a hole, grate or crack in the sidewalk and there goes your shoe; your heel now has an ugly gouge. That has happened to me too often.
But of course, it all depends on how much disposable income one has and personal choices. You could buy fewer outfits and save up for that special pair. One thing to keep in mind is that it once you upgrade, it’s difficult to go back.
AnT says
Wise minds think alike 😀
I totally agree with Kay my dearie Paris 😉
Not really worth splurging on a 4 figure shoe 😛
Paris B says
I’m hoping that during a sale it’ll drop to 3 figs LOL who knows eh? 😉
AnT says
Ooo 3 figs still ok 😀 LOL 😀
Bugs says
I like what you’ve said…Yeah, it is so true, once you upgrade it’s so difficult to go back ( i’m referring to skincare ^_^ )
Paris B says
On the upside, once you can afford to upgrade means you’re on the up! 😉
Paris B says
Haven’t gone down the really high end shoe route yet, but like you, I too feel that one doesn’t get as much out of a pair of shoes, primarily because it gets “used” so much more, right? Well, its a shoe lust anyway. Never know if it’d be fulfilled 😉
jk says
I too agree with Kay and AnT above. Unless we “live that kind of a life style”, for me, it does not make sense to pay 4 figures for a shoe which ends up being too precious to wear daily for fear of wearing out the shoe. So we end up wearing it on special occasions. But then, how many special occasions are there and even if there are several, would you wear the same pair of shoes each time? There lies the dilemma for us poorer folks.
Oh but absolutely yes – if and when one finds a pair of killer heels which are comfortable (which does not costs an arm and a leg plus another limb thrown in) – carpe diem – and the shoes. Pay for and if the shoes’ really that great, pick up a second pair (different color if necessary) too.. Chances are you might not get your size at the next visit. ;-D
Paris B says
I think we all have our drugs 🙂 I know of people whose drugs are shoes and they’re happy to spend on them, but not on anything else. My drug would be bags. Can’t quite get into the shoe thing yet 😉 But that said, practicality does dictate that we should spend within our means and that if we do end up getting something pricey, that it is well used or it might as well just be placed in a museum! 😉
EL says
not too hard to spend 4 figures on a pair of shoes after it’s converted to RM.
If it’s comfortable I say get it, just make sure you wear it. This looks like a pair of heels that will fit any occasion. I’m the type who will only save expensive shoes for nice occasions and that is truly a waste of money.
Paris B says
Good point, EL 🙂 I would prefer to get something that I know I will wear often else it would just be a waste. I happen to have expensive feet that can’t feel comfortable in the more affordable shoe choices out there. Drat! LOL!

I’ve always been more of a shoe than bag girl. I usually read shoe blogs and find myself drooling and dreaming of those skyscraper Louboutin and Jimmy Choo among others. I’m perpetually curious if those designer killer heels are ever comfortable or it kills to see and wear as well hehehe. I’ve read about Sergio Rossi and some designs are lovely and comfortable too.
My favourites are stilettos, pointed toes and strappy heels. Now comes the quirky part – I’m already tall for a girl and Asian that is. I’m 1.73 meters in height. Each time I step into the shoes store, I envy the petite girls trying out those killer heels and squeal in delight that the shoes boosted their height. Boo hoo hoo for me…However, having said I am a shoe fan, I don’t indulge in expensive heels as the sidewalks and curbs in KL are not meant for walking lol. Seeing how the past few pairs of my favourite stiletto heels went in between uneven tiles and having the heels scrapped off was heart breaking. I’m such a fuss pot. On top of that, we don’t get very professional or good cobbler services around. So these days I just buy some fancy design shoes, wear and throw them away when they get worn out. Lesser heartache, easier on the pocket too perhaps 🙂
Paris B says
You know what, the next time you are curious about how the expensive shoes fare, walk into the store and try them on! 😀 I have tried Jimmy Choos and Louboutins in store but they didn’t impress me particularly the way Ferragamo and Sergio Rossi have 😉
I have to agree though that of one does a lot of walking, then expensive shoes aren’t the way to go. I’d wear them indoors mostly but I can’t wear many brands thanks to picky feet 🙁

Gorgeous shows u have!! Very nice!! I love this blue colour type of shoes. 🙂

I think if you can afford then buy it. It’s not for anyone else to say it’s too expensive.
