Headed to one of the Happiest Places on Earth – Disneyland Hong Kong!

They say that Disneyland is the “Happiest Place on Earth”.

I say you are never ever too old for Disneyland 😀 The first time I visited a Disneyland it was EuroDisney outside of Paris back in student days. I went with friends and we went crazy! At the time, EuroDisney was new and it was, by comparison to the huge parks in the USA, small. I don’t know how much its expanded since, but I always remember the few days I was there. It was magical!

Like the kids around us, we were busy chasing down the various Disney characters to have our photos taken with them. I had to give in to the little tykes when we came upon Mickey and Minnie – it was impossible to get even a foot within the characters, never mind take a photo with them.

Its weird, because there we were, full adults jostling with kids for photos and autographs (yes, autographs!) Yet something in the air made us throw reason out the window. For the 3 days I was there, I was a kid again. And *squee!* I’m going to relive that magic! 😀

This time, I’m headed to the Disneyland park closest to me – Hong Kong Disneyland. Its my first time, and the opportunity was too good to pass up 😀 If anyone has been and has tips to share on what to see, do, and the best way to get around the Park, please please do share! Continue Reading

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire : A jaunty flirty fragrance like a jaunty flirty little black dress

When I first saw the promotional images for La Petite Robe Noire EdT, Guerlain’s newest fragrance, I was struck at how young it looked. Guerlain has always had a “womanly” vibe to it and this one channelled “girly”. This imagery was enhanced by that jaunty swing to the little black dress from which the fragrance takes its name.

This was further supplemented by the artistic drawing of the fashionable young Parisian girl that accompanies the fragrance. The promotional images will have this silhouette of a young lady traipsing all over Paris. You’ll see it in the cute little video I’ve included below. Its fun and jaunty and young.

So, when I first got whiff of the scent, it struck me : It is young. It is sweet. It is juicy. I’m not quite sure what I make of it!

G’day Mate! Jurlique Balancing Foaming Cleanser refreshes and cleans away impurities of the day

I remember Jurlique as the lovely smelling store, in the top floor of a local mall (MidValley Megamall). Whenever I walked past, I’d be sure to pause, take a huge sniff of the lovely smell of essential oils wafting out the front door, and then go on my way feeling that little bit more relaxed. I had a facial there once too. But it was a long time ago.

When I was recently reintroduced to the brand, my first observation was the change in packaging. It used to look a little utilitarian before with a plain white and blue colour scheme, but the new packaging looks much more palatable. The Balancing Foaming Cleanser, for one, sports an opaque pump bottle with a good pump that dispenses just the right amount of gel cleanser each time. You don’t need too much of this one.

Jurlique is an Australian brand that uses primarily botanical ingredients in their products where possible. Their products use extracts of plants and essential oils and here’s the interesting bit. Not everything may smell great. This facial cleanser for example, takes some getting used to.

Insta-Updates: Hello World!

Hey Ladies, we interrupt our daily dose of beauty for a quick announcement: I am an aunt! 😀

I present you my darling nephew, Baby K! He arrived Monday evening after a bit of drama in the day. This little one has been a bit dramatic all throughout the gestation period and I predict he will be a handful! But Mother and Baby are doing well and he looks pretty much perfect. All fingers and toes accounted for 🙂

Here are some gratuitous photos of the bub. If posts are a little sporadic, now you know why. Its my first time being an aunt and I’m going to savour every moment of it 🙂
