Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation : A liquid foundation with anti-aging benefits

September 24, 2012 Paris B 12 Comments

There are a couple of new foundations making their rounds this year, and one of them is the Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation. A new addition to the Shiseido foundation range, this foundation boasts anti-aging skincare benefits while giving your skin a radiant, youthful glow.

When I see things like “radiant youthful glow” and “more lifted appearance” and “anti-age”, something tells me that this foundation isn’t one for just anyone 🙂 I would put this foundation as targeted more towards someone who has the problems they hope to address i.e. slightly older women. It promises give a soft focus effect and luminosity to hide wrinkles and fine lines and just make you look younger.

Also, the texture is a little heavier and it claims to be more moisturising to skin, which again is something that older skin will appreciate more. If you have young skin, you may find the product too oily for you and anyone who has oily skin will not appreciate anymore shine, no matter whether it is cloaked in words like “luminosity” and “glow” 😉 So young ‘uns, you can stand down now LOL! 😉

I do have slightly drier skin and I quite like the texture of the foundation. The good thing about it is that is quite moisturizing, and I don’t have a problem with it accentuating any flakiness, or fine lines. It simply glides over skin, offering good coverage and is very comfortable. I do have one niggling problem however.

Shoe Lust: Sergio Rossi Pumps

September 23, 2012 Paris B 35 Comments

A couple of months ago, I was wandering around Starhill Gallery when I came upon the Sergio Rossi store. I’m not familiar with the shoe brand although I have heard of it. It just didn’t quite stay in my consciousness. But that evening, I peered in the window, saw an absolutely lovely pair of blue pumps (I don’t have blue pumps!) and a small sign with the 4 letter word we so love – S.A.L.E! So I stepped in.

Mistake.

I have not stopped lusting after the shoes since!

The shoes, even on sale, sported a 4 figure price tag so I was content to just try them on for size and comfort and walk away. It was the comfort level that really blew me away, because I could have sworn up and down that a shoe that looks like the one above, would not be comfortable. I mean, look at that spindly stiletto heel! That pointy tip! That height!

But you know, it was comfortable. Very comfortable! Darn 😛

New! Aesop introduces Reverence Hand Care and sets up their signature flagship store in Malaysia

September 21, 2012 Paris B 11 Comments

Just when I openly declare love for a hand cream, suddenly I get inundated with hand creams from different brands proclaiming that they will quite easily convince me to love them too LOL! Its funny isn’t it? Maybe I should start declaring my love for the Chanel Classic Flap. Wonder if anyone will start inundating me with bags too… hmm… wishful thinking huh? 😉

Bags aside, Aesop will be retailing a new hand care range in stores (including their new Flagship store pictured below) from October 2012 onwards. This is the Reverence Hand Care range and comes in a Hand Balm and Hand Wash.

I tried the Resurrection Hand Balm a while back (got a sample sachet of it) and I quite liked how not sticky it was. The new Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm is a little more intense in its formula, in that it contains Lactic Acid for gentle exfoliation and hydration of skin. The texture is a little thicker than the Resurrection Hand Balm but once it absorbs, hands feel lovely and soft. The smell is, quite typical of Aesop, soothing and botanical.

The Reverence Hand Wash is an exfoliating hand wash that contains pumice so you scrub your hands as you wash it. It feels quite gentle and non abrasive. Both these products are new on the shelves and will be available at all Aesop counters, as well as their Flagship store at Pavilion KL. I have a few photos of the store here for your viewing pleasure 🙂

Insta-Updates: Feeling pixelated

September 20, 2012 Paris B 23 Comments

I believe this limited edition powder by Clarins came out last year but I missed it. I was originally told that it was not being brought in here, so I stopped hankering after it. But I later found out that it was, but it flew off the shelves before I could say “Me, please!”

So it was with some glee that I saw this Clarins Color Definition 3D Radiance Face Powder pop up online and into my basket it went! 😀
