Hiya Ladies!
Its a public holiday here in Malaysia on the occasion of our 55th Independance Day. Yes, we are a relatively young country and recent times have shown that we’re still going through our growing pains, working out our kinks. Hopefully we come out of it unscathed 😛 Since none of us here are headed into work, let me tell you about a little project by Kiehl’s that I’ve been roped into participating in.

Kiehl’s has called this the Feel the Power of C – Leading Lady Project. Basically, what this is about is the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, a serum containing Vitamin C to combat lines, improve skin texture and boost skin radiance. Incidentally, this was a product I used about a year or two back and one I was pretty impressed with. I’d finished up bottle #1 and was partway through bottle #2 before my attention wandered. I recommended this to a friend who loves it and has kept it a staple in her skincare regiment.
There’s no need to go searching through my archives. I never blogged about it. I don’t even know why! LOL I remember planning to, but then what with one thing and another, it slipped through the cracks. But this time, there’s no slipping through 🙂
I realise that many of you reading my blog are working ladies, earning a keep and running the corporate rat race to afford our little luxuries. Some in more challenging environments than others. So, Kiehl’s christened me “Ms. Early Bird”, to basically represent the career ladies out there.
We know what its like to have to wake up early to beat the traffic jams, to get in to work hopefully before the boss does, to stare all day long at a computer screen hoping to make sense of the words or numbers on it. We know what its like to rush deadlines and sit through long boring meetings. We sit in air conditioned offices, freezing our butts off, watching our skin dry out, not drinking enough water and working late.
And then, for those who also blog on the side, we know what its like to squeeze out the extra minutes or hours in a day to work on our blogs, prepare our blog posts, write something, take photographs, and reply emails and comments. Add to all that, keeping up with social media and gosh! Aren’t you feeling exhausted already? 😛
For those amongst you who do all of the above and are mothers to boot, I take my hats off to you! 😀
Kiehl’s tells me that what we busy bee ladies need is the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate with its 10.5% of L-Ascorbic Acid stablized Vitamin C to keep us looking good. So, I’ve gotten back on the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate train in the past 2 weeks and I will be reporting on it in a couple of weeks.
The thing is, I have used it before so I could technically tell you about it right now 😉 So just very quickly, I find that the product does deliver much of what it promises. It does keep my skin feeling smooth and it does boost skin radiance. As I explained before this, I don’t do much of a battle with serious lines so I don’t know if it will help if that is a concern. Theoretically, it should. It works well with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate (Yes that other magical serum I use nightly although I still prefer my EL ANR + MRC combination) but my most recent experiment with pairing it up with another item is yielding even better results than I expected. Will share that recipe to come 😉
If you are wondering if it will help with dark spots (its supposed to) I will tell you that it didn’t for me. I experienced general clarity but I do still need to use something else to lighten dark pigmentation spots. For acne spots, it can help with recent ones but older ones will take time. There is a bit of a scent you may have to check out for yourself. Its not unpleasant but its something people may want to take note of.
I’ll bring you the comprehensive review in a couple of weeks 😉 In the meantime, do share if you have tried this.
Have you tried the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate? Do you have thoughts on it you’d like to share?
Its been around since 2005, so I’m sure some of you would have come across it at some point or another. Would love to know what you think of it if you’ve tried it 🙂
Psst! Kiehl’s is usually very generous with samples, so why not go out this weekend, grab some samples and when I share my review later, you can share your thoughts then too! Let’s get interactive! 😉

Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate Price: RM240/50ml and RM310/75ml Availability: Kiehl’s stores
I never knew they come in 75ml! It’s a staple for me and I never stray. I’m already on to my 2nd bottle. Tine bought one after I couldn’t stop raving about it but she found it too strong for her (cos she doesn’t have any lines to begin with!) and I’ve inherited that all too gladly. It’s a wonderful product and it works so well to soften laugh lines and fine lines all over my face. I only need a tiny drop smoothed and concentrated over the line-y area. It feels a little warm upon application but I think that’s the Vit C at work. Kiehl’s, don’t ever change the formulation of this.
I just found that out myself 😛 I would personally still get the 50ml bottle though because I’m just not sure if even stablized Vitamin C can last that long. Oh and what you mentioned about it being too strong might make sense, because I do think this a very concentrated product. It works like a charm for me though so I’m glad to be steered back to using it 😉
I tried before. After using, my face has red patches, maybe my skin is sensitive to it =(
It could be that because I do think this quite a concentrated product. Sorry to hear it didn’t work for you!
Sadly, this didn’t work for me. It was difficult to blend and I have white patches on my face when the lotion dried.
Wow that’s quite odd, Esther. I usually just pump 1 pump into my palm, spread it out then apply to my skin and its done, because it spreads quite easily. Sorry to hear you didn’t have a good experience with it 🙁
where to get this Kiehl? How much?
I love to try it too and maybe can recommend it in my blog too 😉
The price as as per the bottom of the post 🙂 Kiehl’s stores are found in many major malls around the country. You could check here for a list 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/myKIEHLS
Sounds good! But I know I am sensitive to concentrated Vitamin C. Not sure if this will work for me.
I am still crazy over the MRC. Hehe.
MRC is so awesome right? 🙂 I’m not sure if this product may be suitable if your skin can’t handle large doses of vitamin c. Some readers report sensitivity on sensitive skin so maybe it is too strong for those with ve sensitive skin. See if the Kiehls counter has a sample. Only way to find out if its ok 😉
I like this product too! I like most of the Kiehl’s stuff. Love that all business look pic of you Paris!
Thanks Tracy! 🙂 yay for liking this one too! Most Kiehls products work for me too. Some better than others. Makes you wonder why we stray sometimes eh? 😉
Kiehls told me to use it after toner and before my serum. How do you work yours, Paris?
I have a bit of a complicated routine but in a normal routine, I’d say Kiehl’s was right. After cleansing and toning/lotion, before moisturiser although it would depend on what other serum you are using 🙂
I couldn’t see this post yesterday for some reason! Cool project 😀 I’m eager to hear your new serum recipe. I finally tried MRC thanks to your raves, but found that it’s too heavy for my combo skin. Perhaps I’ve used too generous an amount per use?
Hmm.. did you use 2 drops? That’s the recommended amount and once you spread it out in your hands, it goes on a very thin layer on the skin. I sometimes use 3 or 4 if my skin is feeling tired or dehydrated but otherwise, I use 2 too 🙂
hmm i never try this before…I’m still trying my best to finish MR eye,it’s a nice eye cream =)
I know I have a sample somewhere here on my desk…perhaps I should use it because I’m trying for a work promotion 😉
Good luck with the promotion! You might find yourself needing it after you get it too hehe…
Good news good news! I knw how to work the serum already. I just have to apply it lightly and work section by section and VOILA – no more white patches. In the past, I dabbed the serum on my forehead, cheeks and chin and by the time I worked one area, the other areas have dried thus causing patches. So now I pumped serum on palm, take a bit and massage section by section lightly. So happy that I worked it out then I quickly went and bought the JUMBO size, running out soon in Singapore.
Ahhh yes I do find that the serum dries up plus I’m never an advocate of the dotting method lol! I find that we just end up using too much product on one concentrated dot of skin hehe but its great to know you are seeing benefits too! 😀
