Your Say: Do you believe in there being “The Best” beauty product?

is there a product that is the best?

I am quite interested to know what you think about this concept of there being “The Best” beauty product. The reason I ask is because I often see search queries coming into my blog with some queries like these:-

What is the best skincare in Malaysia?
What is the best moisturiser?
Which is the best foundation?
The best foundation brand?

The thing is this – they would never find “the best” of anything on my blog because I don’t believe there is “The Best” anything, much less skincare or beauty products! What say you then? 🙂

Oh Revlon! I do wish your mousse foundation looks like mousse and not alien pods

I’ve hmmed and hawed over this product for quite the longest time ever. I just could not quite figure out how best to approach it. “It”, in this case is the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup or which I’d just call the Revlon Mousse foundation because that’s what it is. A mousse type foundation.

I must say I was quite intrigued by it when I first heard about it. A full coverage foundation in the form of a mousse and affordable. I’ve been trialing it since May and really, when I take this long to find out if I like a non skincare product, odds are its not something I’d tell you to fly out and buy RIGHT NOW! 😉

I must say however that it isn’t something to quite hate on either. It has its plus points and when I do manage to get it to work (Yes, I eventually did with the right combination of products!) it offers very lovely coverage. I will then complain about colour matching because there’s no satisfying this grinch 😉

I remember St. Ives – hands up if you don’t 😉

In fact, its quite silly to say “I remember” because they’re still around but I just stopped paying attention to them. I used to be a great fan of their medicated face scrub. It was the first time I’d learnt about salicylic acid and the wonders it did for my skin, helping clear up spots while keeping skin smooth. I never really used their body stuff though. Or maybe I did but it didn’t stick around in my memory.

Recently, it was brought to my attention that St. Ives has launched some new products in the past year, amongst which we find a bunch of new body washes. Hurrah! I love body washes! I go through them quite easily so I always have a good stock of them around.

The 3 new ones are Mineral Therapy, Energizing Citrus and Oatmeal & Shea Butter. Have you noticed them in stores or used them before?

This is a cardinal rule in blogging. Not just beauty blogging, but blogging in general. In fact, this is simple ethics, manners and something we should have all learned in school!

Do not steal.

Do not copy or plagiarize another blogger or their blog content.

Do not use another blogger’s photos without proper credit.

A blogger’s blog is an expression of their thoughts and words. They work hard on deciding the words to use and the manner and style of their language and content. They work hard at taking their own photos, setting up the shot, making sure everything fits their blog and blog post.

When someone steals this content, its like stealing a part of your soul. In school or university, if caught plagiarizing text or content, you risk disciplinary action. So, what makes you think its alright to do it online, in your blog?
