In my shoe book, Clarks is filed under Comfy heels but boring designs. Ok, I’m being kind. Its more like “Clarks – Comfy but Frumpy” Tell me you disagree 😛 But some of the more recent designs are starting to catch my eye and when I spotted the ad for this pair of bright yellow heels, I just knew I HAD to have it. I just HAD TO!
Don’t you think they are adorable? Its ok if you don’t, I love them and I actually went and hunted them down right here in Malaysia. Oh yes, we get these here and if I might say so, they are just as adorable in real life! The shoe is suede which sent up a bit of warning bells. I’m not terribly good with wearing suede shoes because they tend to wear out faster and its hard to clean, and yellow is potentially going to be a mess if it gets dirty.
The only problem is I could not wear them. Boohoo! 🙁
I went to 2 Clarks stores to hunt down the Dollar Craze heels. The first in Bangsar Village only have them in navy blue suede which is pretty but definitely not as pretty as the yellow version. I then went down to the store in MidValley Megamall where they have it in both navy and yellow and in my sizes too!
What’s the problem then? The Dollar Craze heels only come in Wide Fit for wider feet. I have rather narrow feet and usually take a narrow or medium fit shoe and the Wide Fit is just too loose around the top. Size wise, I felt it fits true to size. I take a UK4 or sometimes UK3 in Clarks shoes and I could wear both sizes. The problem was in the fit 🙁
Otherwise, the shoe is very comfortable. There is a softness and a bit of spring to the step so walking in it was super easy. The heel height which is about 2.5inches maybe, is a good comfortable height without putting too much pressure on the back and legs.
The buckle bit also tended to hit at my ankle which might be attributable to the shape of my feet. The yellow which is labeled as Ochre is a little deeper in person but I just love the punch out holes and crimped edging that makes it look oh so delicate!
It would be nice if Clarks made this one in a normal fit, and in normal smooth leather. Needless to say, I’d be all over it! I’m on the hunt for a pair of yellow shoes now! They look so fun and sunny on my feet!
Have you seen the Clarks Dollar Craze shoes? Yellow shoes – do you have a pair?
Now, will someone who has wider feet than I do please go and buy these and make me jealous? 😛 This is about the only time in my life that I wish I had wide feet 😛 I believe its RM368 but I could be mistaken.

I love Clark’s! They are very comfortable and the design looks good. Sorry to hear this does not suits for you. I have a wide feet and honestly I don’t like it, I prefer to have narrow feet to wear open heels 🙂
Paris B says
Haha I am very thankful for my narrow feet but for some reason, its really hard to buy well fitted shoes here too. On the bright side, many of the nice shoe brands come in narrow fit – bad for my wallet but so pretty on feet! 😉 When I can find a pair of shoes in Clarks that fits me well, I snap it up. Its the only brand I know I never have to break in, and I can walk for long hours in 😀
Isabel says
Ooooh the navy is pure love and I do have a weakness for broderie anglaise designs! But I have narrow feet too so gah!
Paris B says
I’m with you – GAH! 😛
Mrs Top Monkey says
Clarks is frumpy all right but as I have wide and problematic feet, I adore Clarks for their comfort. I saw these too, thought they were so cute but unfortunately, I’ve used up my shoe quota for the time being… Sob, sob…
Mrs Top Monkey says
Forgot to add Clarks recently had a collab with Mary Portas but the line was only avail in UK. Very un-Clarks design, gorgeous and comfy.
Paris B says
Ish! Don’t la tell me about shoes I can’t get here! >.<
Mrs Top Monkey says
Mana tau you pigi holiday in Uk en route to Paris or something….? ;))
Paris B says
Alamak! You should have picked them up in the UK when you could – would have been cheaper and if you have wide feet, it looks damn good ok! 😛
Sze Ling says
Wide feet? Me! Me! 😀 This is about the only time I’m happy that I have wide feet. LOL.
But but…I don’t need another pair of shoes. 🙁 How I wish I could buy this without feeling guilty for the next one month. That navy one is so drool worthy.
Paris B says
Haha girl, you never “not need” a pair of shoes – bet you don’t have a yellow pair LOL 😉 Clarks brought in a whole slew of shoes for wide feet. Maybe that’s the local demand now.
Sze Ling says
I caved and went to the store to try this today.
I tried the navy one, and let me just say…OMG! It’s so pretty and comfy. ~squeals~ And I totally get what you say when you said “There is a softness and a bit of spring to the step so walking in it was super easy”. It’s for real! And it doesn’t even feel like a 2.5-inch heels.
The buckle bit also tend to hit at my ankle too. That’s the only down side of it. Other than that, the fit was perfect. The “wide fit” was awesome.
Now I know where to go to buy my next heels. 😉 Clarks is the first brand that I know of that makes “wide fit”. I thought I’m doomed for life and will never ever find a pair of heels that is wide enough for me. 😛
Took a whole lot of determination for me to walk out from that store without whipping out my credit card.
Catherine says
Oh Paris, you re so lucky you have no idea! You can wear all these fabulous italian and french designer heels… Louboutins especially! I have wider feet and I have hard time breaking my pairs…
Paris B says
Haha Thanks Catherine! I am very thankful for my narrow feet and its nice to know that I’d be able to wear Louboutins if I could ever afford a pair! 😀
Jacqueline says
I have issues with finding the right shoes, I’m a sandal kinda gal and only wear heels if I have to. These shoes look so pretty though. I would love to try these.
Paris B says
These are super comfortable 🙂 I usually wear heels mostly for work. On weekends I usually wear sandals but am slowly weaning myself to wear flats instead. I always feel so tall and dainty in heels 😀
Jennifer says
Pretty details indeed and love the ankle strap. I would love it more if it came with covered round toes, then it will be a great pair of Mary Jane fit for work 🙂 Over last and this weekend, I just went out to hunt for a pair of Marks & Spencer wedges which will be nice for work. Sad thing was last week I didn’t give it much thoughts when I first saw it and it was in size 6.5 – perfect and fitted like a dream and on superb price slash. Alas, this week it was gone gone gone…Oh well, I will start looking in Clarks now 🙂
Paris B says
There is a pair of loafers with covered toes (see 1st picture on left) that does look quite nice too. Try taking a look 🙂 I know what you mean about having to hunt down something only to find you can’t find it anymore. It always happens to me and I never learn! I wanted a pair of colourful pants from Uniqlo but left it too long and now its gone! Gah! 🙁
xin says
i love the yellow!!! can’t imagine if i had to walk across a swamp in them though.
wide feet? me! finding a good fit in shoes like these are always a pain for the wide and flat feet
Paris B says
Hmm… and why are you walking around in a swamp?! 😛
Swati says
I have two left feet and can’t at all stand straight in even an inch of heels 😀 😀 do, flats and sneakers and ballets it is, for me!!
also, my feet size is like UK3/4 and in India, we hardly get good or awesome shoes in that size!!!
Paris B says
Oh I feel you Swati. I have small narrow feet and finding a good pair of shoes that fits well and is comfortable is a lot harder than I ever imagined! I used to not be able to wear heels either but practice makes perfect! 😉
Sam says
I am a wide fit – I love Clarks (wore them all during my school years), but I agree stylish pairs are few and few between. We don’t get the adult range here in Australia though.
I have a yellow pair of studded flats by Andre Valentino, which always attract comments.
Paris B says
You don’t get adult Clarks in Australia?! That’s so weird 😛
Firn says
Be glad ypu have narrow feet. You will be able to comfortably wear and look good in 99% of shoes and flip flop sandals. I have massive pudgy feet which only look good in closed high heels (which isn’t comfortable for long wear). But that also means that I don’t buy shoes that often but when I do, I don’t mind splurging.
The navy blue looks gorgeous! If you’re worried about keeping suede clean, why not try a protector spray? I use the one from Aldo and it’s fab.
Paris B says
Thanks Firn 🙂 Its only this once that I wish for wide feet though LOL It would be nice if this came in normal or narrow fit elsewhere but I can’t seem to find the info 🙂 I just remembered I have a suede pair of booties that I should take out and wear soon. It seems ridiculous in our weather sometimes 😛
Jyoan says
I am in! But I haven’t seen these in Singapore yet… hmmm, maybe it’s exclusive to certain outlets.
I have wide feet, and it’s much more difficult to get shoes for wide feet than narrow feet. 90% of the mainstream shoes simply don’t fit. Most of the times, I am wearing shoes that squeeze me up.
I have a pair of yellow shoes from Guess, almost exactly the same yellow as those. But I bought the Guess one for photoshoot, and it wouldn’t do for everyday. Looks like time for me to invest in another good pair of shoes.
I actually have been looking at Clarks, Scholl and Geox for some time already. But all three are Frumpy like you say. So just can’t make the decision.
Paris B says
I only found the yellow shoes in one Clarks outlet if you could believe that! The other one told me it wasn’t brought in 😛 So my suggestion will be to look in the larger Clarks outlets which may carry a larger variety. Of the 3 brands you mentioned, I’d look at Clarks and Geox more than Scholl. I found the quality of Scholl has deteriorated over the years and their designs too!
Cindy Tong says
i wish i could buy a pair of heel from clarks but there are too costly for me…I bought a hush puppies heels and was so sad that the front of the heel is too narrow for my feet and I left there unworn for few months now…i wish i could give to someone instead of collecting dust in my shoe rack…
Paris B says
Oh dear, could you sell it off or just give it to someone?
Cindy tong says
Couldn’t.. So sad.. And it make me dislike hush puppies now…
Hanny Daforcena says
OH GAWD THESE LOOK SO PRETTY!!!
(Am a shoe fan heh heh, especially for shoes that have wide heels)
Looks like my brother will have to wait a few more weeks for his new video game! HAHAHA
Paris B says
LOL!! I guess you will be sporting yellow heels soon yes? 😉
Julia says
They’re pretty, but I’m more interested in the pair on the left. Searching the internet for a German Clarks source right now. xD
Paris B says
LOL!! That pair is very pretty too! But it was the bright yellow that really called to me. Hope you find it near you Julia 😀
Samantha says
the bright yellow one is absolutely gorgeous & striking..OMG I am so gonna spend so much money this month since I’ve been eyeing the Coach Legacy bag and now this!!
Paris B says
Haha That would be some large purchases indeed! Hope the shoes work for you, if not it’ll just be the bag eh? 😉
Nikki says
Wow, I don’t see any exciting “Clarks” stuff down here! I would definitely go for the yellow! SO bright and sunshine-y!
Paris B says
I just spotted these actually – so they may be popping up in PH soon! 😀
Becca says
OMG these are so adorable–I’m so bummed they didn’t work out for you. I would have loved to see an OOTD pic with you strolling down a street wearing these and a pretty dress 🙂
Paris B says
I know right? I would have loved to work it into an OOTD and would have even braved the stares of people to shoot on the street! But sigh… it wasn’t to beeeeeee….
beetrice says
oooh my feet just heard music in “wide” 😀 *waves hand in the air* the pattern is uber cute too! Clarks, here I come…please don’t run out before I get there!
Paris B says
Haha Hope you find it! Else look in MidValley when you are next back – they still had stock last I checked 😉
Rhian says
So bright and sunshine.
