The first trip I made to Hong Kong, I came home with half a Sasa store. I’m kidding. Almost. 😛
With each subsequent trip I make, my shopping hauls get smaller and smaller but comprise products I already use, need or that I actually want. *gasp* I must be growing up! 😛
This time, I just picked up a couple of essentials in the Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil (I can’t believe my “essentials” come from Hong Kong 😛 ) and a couple more items I’d been wanting to have a go at. I know everyone loves snooping into others’ holiday shopping hauls but this is so small, its almost embarrassing.
There was my Sofymo Cleansing Oil which I’d read was being discontinued or getting hard to find even in Hong Kong. But happily, I found that it was still plentiful on the shelves of Bonjour (although I couldn’t find it in Sasa) so rejoice if you love this one too! I also bought a foaming variation too because it looked interesting. I love my Japanese cleansers 😀 I picked up a bottle of Bioderma Micellar cleanser because I’d read so many raves about it. Can’t quite make head or tail of it yet.
I walked past a store that had Camper shoes on 50% off and picked up this bootie type shoe. I think its called the Mamba which is also a deadly snake – just in case anyone’s wondering 🙂 I loved how it looked and how balanced it was, plus the rubber sole had great friction which was quite perfect. Oh it was also very comfy and I’m thinking of taking this out for a longish walk to see how it fares. Its always useful to have a pair of good and nice walking shoes. I also learnt that for me, Camper shoes run small so I had to size up 1 size. Very useful information to file away for future online shopping exploits 😉
And finally, 3 items I’d set out with the intention of buying – L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows and more Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadows.
*Midnight Blue should read All Night Blue #06
I already own a few of both and you can expect some reviews to be coming up soon. Both the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill shadows (HKD250) and the L’Oreal Infallible shadows (HKD89) have the same concept and formula – compacted loose powder eyeshadows that looks and feel like cream but apply like a powder. Its hard to describe but they are really good stuff.
And that, as they say, is it! Quite a perfect little haul for me, but quite a pathetic showcase next to some mind boggling hauls I’ve seen 🙂
Do you enjoy reading shopping haul posts? I realise its a bit of a filler at the best of times, but it is quite nice sometimes. Its that voyeuristic pleasure we get, rather like peeping into someone’s closet or room 😉 If you have used any of the above items, please share your thoughts with me? In particular the Bioderma Micellar cleanser thingybob. How would you use it?

LOVE hauls posts. And thank you for helping me shop for my stash too xxx
Paris B says
Most welcome! I welcomed the ability to walk into stores I’d normally not enter and make purchases which aren’t mine hehe… 😉
Nikki says
the Bioderma Micellar cleanser is really amazing! the most gentle and skin friendly make up remover I’ve ever came across. I got mine from BOBODAVE online because it’s not available locally
Tine says
I love haul posts. I’m a voyeur, love seeing what people buy, what’s in people’s bags, etc.
Ahem. 😛
Paris B says
LOL We are all guilty of that bit of voyeurism Tine! I like the occasional haul post but not if every post on the blog is a haul post. Seen that? Quite mind boggling 😛 And maybe we could organize a round robin whats in my bag post eh? Would be fun 😀
LeGeeque says
I totally support this! When? When? When? Shall I start? Even if you girls won’t do it, I’ll do it for the syiok sendiri factor. Ahem 😀
Paris B says
HAHA Let’s erm… try to think this through? 😛
Jess says
Yes! I do enjoy reading shopping posts! You probably already guessed, didn’t you? :p
Some sort of filler? Hmm… my blog posts are mostly of this type these days, as I still have so little time on my hands. 🙁
But I promise, my blog will ‘rise from the death’! Lol…
Oh, I hear so many good things about the Bioderma Cleansing Water. Comfortable walking shoes are absolute life savers, aren’t they?
Paris B says
Don’t beat yourself up Jess! At least your photos are very good and I’d rather someone post a haul post than nothing at all 😀 I”m sure you’ll come back to the world of the living but I’m glad to see your posts in between anyways 😀 I have to agree with you about comfy shoes. I have been looking for a good pair – I hope this is it although the heel is a bit too high for prolonged walks.
Sam says
I love reading shopping haul posts – they help to add to my wishlist!
Paris B says
Haha! Indeed, especially if I’m planning a trip to the same country. Oh my 😀
lyn says
I try to be more selective but it’s hard, ya know. I have the Bioderma too and it’s pretty good (especially on lazy days). I should have stocked up in my last trip. Your shoes look very nice and comfy. When I travel, I have usually wear flat boots or if going somewhere colder, flat fleece-lined boots.
Paris B says
Gotta agree with you Lyn. Its near impossible to cull down all the wants and just focus 😛 The lucky thing is that this time, I had no temptations. Didn’t walk into any cosmetics stores till the last evening. I think I must have been ill… Do you just wet a piece of cotton pad and use the Bioderma as a makeup remover? I’m not sure if its that or a cleanser. I don’t plan to travel in these shoes to be honest. I prefer going with flat boots too!
candy says
Love haul posts!!
Paris B says
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Denise says
I love my Softymo Cleansing Oils, and it’s all thanks to you Paris! The last time I went to Hong Kong, all of the Sasa’s I went to didn’t have any at all. I found a bottle at a smaller pharmacy. I remember telling you about that before; I was really sad. Now, I’m glad to know that Bonjour still carries Softymo, plus the heat protectant spray I get for my hair! 🙂
Paris B says
teehee… another girl who has “essentials” from Hong Kong 😀 I remember your comment about the stores being bare of these cleansing oils so I was a little worried when I went to check it out, but was happy to note that most Bonjour stores still had them – whew! 😀
lavender says
I spotted something I am interested – Bioderma – it was raved by Lisa Eldridge, the celeb makeup guru. I would wait for your review. How much is it?
and also would be interested to know how Loreal Infallible fares?
love your haul!
Paris B says
I got the Bioderma for HKD108 for the big bottle. I wanted a smaller bottle but there wasn’t any. I’ve heard that its highly raved so I’m keen to see how it fares 😀 L’Oreal Infallible shadows are awesome stuff! Watch out for the review 😉
MrsRance says
I love hauls posting 🙂 I tried the bioderma, but not really fond of, gave me breakouts. So I gave to my mom and she loves it 🙂
Paris B says
Hmm… I’m going to be a bit careful trying the Bioderma then, if it gave you breakouts. Thanks for the heads up!
Lisa says
I’m liking the look of your GA’s ETK eye shadow. I have not bought any yet. i’m quite surprised by myself. 😉 Will see how you use it and your review on it. It might just change my mind.
Paris B says
Oh man, I LOVE GA ETK shadows. Seriously 😛 I own a few colours and I really love them all. I usually just use them on their own because I find them complex enough. I’ll try to bring a review soon. The photos for this one are hard to take 😛
Lumi says
LOL, I get curious about what people have hauled sometimes.
Actually, the cleansing oil you mentioned in this has gotten me interested in your other posts/reviews on cleansing oils.
Never used one before, but now I want to. ^^
Paris B says
I find it very interesting if they have items in their hauls which I can’t get locally 🙂 I’ve been using cleansing oils for years and if you use makeup, its actually a very fuss free way to remove makeup. Do give it a try – there are lots of different brands available in the market!
Jyoan says
I don’t mind if there’s a little bit of review inside a haul/ recommendation/ insight from another person about what is good, but only if I can get it too. hahaha.
I would skip those from the UK side, since it is unlikely that whatever cult brand they are raving about is sold here. US is better, because if I were really convinced that the other person’s Holy Grail product will suit me, I could get it online easily. And a good number of US brands come to Singapore.
I have been wanting to get Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill for ages… but can’t seem to find it. haha.
Paris B says
Oh oops! No review in this haul post hehe… I like seeing the various items people pick up from their travels. Doesn’t have to be beauty related, because some things are so unique. The GA Eyes to Kill shadows are really really nice but regionally I think its just Hong Kong that has the brand. You can try Strawberrynet but their colours are very limited and tend to be the less attractive ones.
dom says
i’m living vicariously through your hauls, especially on the eyes to kill and infallible e/s. hoo boy. shopping ban ain’t going as easy as i thought it would be.
Paris B says
HAHA! Its when you are on a ban that temptation rears its head the most. I’m on a bag ban and everywhere I turn there’s a bag out for my wallet. I’ve been good so far though *fingers crossed* That said, if you do get the change to get the GA or L’Oreal ones, I think they are worth breaking the ban for 😉
Haru says
The Bioderma works well for cleaning off foundation, concealer, blush and brow products in a few wipes. I still prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover for the eyes though as the Bioderma can’t remove waterproof mascara well. It’s great also for cleaning up minor makeup mistakes, say if you put on foundation and discover it’s the wrong shade but don’t want to remove all the makeup you’ve already done, like eye makeup. I still use a facial cleanser after using Bioderma, out of habit to make sure my skin is really clean. It works pretty much like the Bifesta Cleansing Express cleansers that you can find in Watsons.
Paris B says
Ooh thanks for the tips Haru! 🙂 I was experimenting with using it as a makeup remover but although my skin felt lovely and soft, it didn’t feel all too clean and you’re right. It did nothing for waterproof eye makeup! Will try it out a while more and see how I like it 🙂
Shay says
I’ll like to try this bioderma too! After I finished my horde of makeup removers!
Paris B says
Lucky for me, makeup removers go quickly in my household! 😀 I’m quite generous when using them 😉
Michelle Beh says
I love shopping haul posts!!! I love reading them and even from there, I may know some great products which I haven’t try out before 🙂 And may know where to get those products from. Anyway, great concise haul there!! =D
Paris B says
Its always fun to see what people pick up on their travels, right? And maybe why they pick it up so maybe you can pick it up too when you go 😀 Its taken a while to get it down to such a small haul but I’m glad because it was absolute madness before 😛
Shay says
Nice…now I am regretting my past purchases. I kinda warehoused too many beauty products and have problem finishing them. Sigh.
milktea says
Just a suggestion… have you considered selling them on Low Yat Net’s trade zone? At the “Stuff for the ladies” forum. Lots of ppl selling off unwanted or even used beauty stuff there.
Shay says
I used to sell them on eBay. But it’s been harder to sell these days. And primarily also because I am lazy to put up ads. 😛
Paris B says
Ahem! *raises hands* Guilty of product warehousing! Still am 😛
milktea says
Love your haul! Everything looks very useful! 🙂 You got the L’Oreal 24hr infallibles! And a Bioderma! I’ve never tried Bioderma but it might be similar to the Avene Micellar cleansing water which is pretty nice to use.
milktea says
one more: Your Campers boots are the best purchase of the lot I think! They look sturdy and classic. Will last you for years to come I bet!
Paris B says
Know what? Pre Bioderma I had no idea what a Micellar cleansing water was. I’m just learning – late to the party LOL! 😀 Yes, I did try to buy stuff I’d use as opposed to buying stuff that looked pretty but which I wouldn’t use. Am very happy with the Campers shoes – always wanted a pair but would never pay full price for them! 😀
Sue says
I can’t believe you managed to get your hands on kose softymo cleansing oils! I had a friend running around in HK (Sasa) during her recent trip there and she couldn’t find one at all. I was so sad… aih, should’ve asked her to try bonjour …..
I love shopping hauls, by the way =D
Paris B says
Oh dear I did look in Sasa and didn’t find them but tried Bonjour and they had quite a few. Maybe Sasa discontinued them? I don’t know really. They are still on the Sasa.com website though 🙂
twentythree says
Hi, did you purchase the bioderma at bonjour or sasa? Heading to hk next week 🙂 thanks.
Paris B says
I got this from Sasa – didn’t see it in Bonjour 🙂
kuri says
I love shopping hauls, but I try not to read them as I always want to go shopping after seeing one! I like seeing your small, perfect haul; moderation is very good!
Paris B says
Haha I like seeing what people pick up too and thinking “Why didn’t I see that?!” 😀
