Can you keep a secret? Dr. Sebagh keeps your age a secret with the Supreme Night Secret Face And Neck Cream

March 21, 2012 Paris B 19 Comments

Some time late last year, I had the opportunity to meet the good Doctor behind the Dr. Sebagh brand. He was the one who confirmed my theory about using 2 face serums together, if you might remember. I find it absolutely fascinating meeting the person behind the brand because they are usually so passionate about their product that you get all caught up in their excitement too.

Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh was in town to launch his new Face and Neck Cream – Supreme Night Secret. A night cream, naturally 🙂 Despite having offices in London and Paris, this famous cosmetic surgeon to the stars has a very down to earth belief that beauty is not about looking perfect, but about looking youthful and healthy for your age <- key word. He  holds to the belief that there are no miracle skincare or creams, but that good skincare can make a difference to the skin. Which might be why he set up the Dr. Sebagh skincare range 🙂

This cream is a new addition to this range of luxury skincare and I’ve been taking it for a spin so head on for my thoughts on this rich cream designed for all skin types.

The packaging is impressively solid with a good heft. I am superficial like that 🙂

The cream is tinted a light pink and has a soft floral fragrance that is quite pleasant. The texture is light but rich, if you know my meaning, and it absorbs very quickly into the skin.

I find the texture luxurious. It makes my skin feel soft and plumped up after use. Dr. Sebagh says that his cream contains the latest biotech cosmetic ingredients to work with the body’s chronological clock to work at night to regenerate the skin. Its also incidentally the first night cream in the Dr. Sebagh range of skincare and contains anti-oxidants to combat the stress and oxidants accumulated on your skin throughout the day.

But I ran into a bit of trouble in paradise. This cream, lovely as my skin feels after use, starts breaking me out after a few nights. If I use it once or twice sparingly, it feels lovely and my skin looks lovely the morning after I use this. But if I go for about 3-4 days straight, I get small little spots.

I stopped this cream, treated the spots (which thankfully weren’t cystic acne) and then went back to this cream. Did it twice. Same thing. Great for about 2 nights and by the 3rd I start getting spots 🙁 I do believe it might just be too rich for me or that my skin is too young for this anti-aging cream 😉

So what is a girl to do? I use it for my neck instead! No breakouts or spots and the skin on my neck feels lovely and velvety and smooth and all sorts of luxurious. I’ll have the neck of a 20 year old even if I don’t have the face of one LOL! 😀 I do think its a bit of a waste for me to lavish this cream just on my neck so I’m going to pass it to my Mom who will likely benefit more from it than I will. But I might just decant a little of this cream to keep my neck in shape 😉

In a nutshell

The Dr. Sebagh Supreme Night Secret Face & Neck Cream is a light textured luxurious rich night cream which has a lovely delicate floral scent. It is not oily and absorbs very quickly into the skin leaving it feeling soft and velvety. For my face, I could only use this cream very sparingly because regular use make me break out a little. However, for my neck, it feels lovely and keeps ageing at bay! I believe that this may benefit people with more matured skin better than the young which is a relief since it does cost a pretty penny!

Pros: Light velvety texture, Lovely light floral scent is relaxing, Absorbs into the skin without feeling oily or sticky, Skin feels soft and velvety after use and skin on neck looks better with regular use

Cons: Pricey, May suit more matured skin better as it broke me out with regular use

A bit of a stretch but has anyone tried anything from Dr. Sebagh that you’d like to share? I’ve heard some good things about the Youth Maintenance Serum and the Rose de Vie serum as well so I’m sort of keen on those seeing as I’m still eyeing up face oils/serums. The prices do do some serious harm to the wallet though so its not for everyone 😛

Oh Paris, you just have the best ideas! There are things I’ve tried that break me out, highly possibly because they’re too rich. I should just start using those for my neck instead!

But if you use this sparingly you should still be able to use it on your face, no? Like once every other day or so (though I really don’t think you need an anti-aging cream yet. Your skin is so firm!)?

Lol I figured it said Face and Neck cream so here goes nothing! 🙂 I did try using it sparingly but I, not sure if it’s actually doing anything so I’m going to stop for a bit and then try again and if it doesn’t work, then off to mom it goes 😉 oh and yes, I’m in the realm of anti aging creams but I’m quite lucky to have good genes for skin elasticity (whew!)

I had a sample sachet of this and guess what? I had the opposite reaction. My face at the time was breaking out when I tried it and it miraculously cleared it up and gave me the most amazing skin. Too bad the sachet only lasted me a few days, after which my skin looked it’s horrible self again. The fine lines came back and the pores were more visible again. :-b I am too kiamsiap to pay the hefty price for this, but I can say that if I get a windfall, I’m running straight to BV2 to get me a tub!
My friend who has drier skin uses the High Maintenance cream and she has perfect skin. Perhaps this might work better for you?

Ahhhh i love that you got a different result! 😀 maybe I should try it when I’ve got a breakout going on *touch wood* I have heard some of the other creams are worth taking a look at. Maybe I’ll check and see which is not so rich. My skin clearly abhors the idea that it needs anti aging 😛

Yes it is 50ml. It’s a pretty large tub, just that sitting in isolation, there’s no gauge on size.

I am one of those weird persons who have neck acne a.k.a. neckne. Whichever products break me out on my face, I won’t even let it go near my neck since I break out in huge cysts that will never ever come to head on my neck. The only way to make it go away is to go to my derm and get him to cut it open and suck out all the icky pus+blood (TMI?? lol). So any dud products for me are either donated or thrown in the bin. But it was totally genius of you to figure out a way to use the cream up! 🙂

On another note which is totally off topic, is there a place where we can donate unused/lightly used makeup & skincare products here in Malaysia? I know in the US you can donate stuff to the woman’s shelter, but is there such a organization here? If there is, pardon my ignorance and do share. Thanks 🙂

HOLY MOTHER OF SH*T! I was just reading through the post again and I just realized that it was RM1200 per 50ml! That’s more expensive than the 60ml Creme de La Mer! *faints*

Oh wow! Your neck sounds like its even more sensitive than your face! It’s quite good that you figured that out because it much be a painful mistake if you don’t work it out. I don’t know of anywhere to donate makeup to be honest. I’m looking myself, but we just don’t have that sort of support group here it seems. I pass mine to friends or my moms friends sometimes, but it would be nice to gift them to others who may appreciate it more. I haven’t found that avenue yet. Will share if I do 😉

This is pretty out of my budget! I’m currently looking around for my next face and neck cream. I’m currently using the one from ester lauder and it’s lovely. However, i do like to ‘rotate’ use of skincare when i’ve finished a certain product before coming back to it again. Any to recommend?

It’s out of mine too even at the best of times. Maybe my skin knows it so it decided it better not get too comfortable because it won’t get this sort of treatment on a regular basis! Lol I just use whichever cream I’m using on my fave for my neck. Ditto serums. I just apply it on my neck so it gets the same pampering my face does. Can’t have it looking old before its time!

Great idea to use the cream on your neck – I’ve got a couple of creams sitting in my draw that were too rich for my face but I may give this a try rather than throw them out.

Yes Victoria, don’t waste them. They can go on your neck or at a pinch, on your arms too – provided of course they really don’t work for your face or it’d be a really expensive body cream!

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
