Save and Splurge: Hair Treatment Oils or Serums for Frizzy Hair

December 8, 2011 Paris B 25 Comments

Yesterday, for the first time in a very long time, I took out my bottle of MoroccanOil Oil Treatment to use. As I noted in an earlier review, this oil was great for my hair in a very cold environment, but here in this hot humid Malaysian weather, it quickly weighed my hair down with daily use. However, my hair has been feeling unnaturally frizzy of late and this oil tamed it down a treat. No more lion’s mane! It was when I was looking at the small range of hair treatment oils on my dresser and realised just how they fell nicely into different price ranges – Save and Splurge time! 😀

I must say here that I don’t take very good care of my hair. Yeah like nails, if beauty blogging was judged on us being all rounded polished from head to toenails, boy! am I a failure 😛  But we’re not – yay! 😀 So I’m a shampoo and conditioner gal and off and on, I slap on a hair mask (usually one of the anti-frizz ones from different price spectrums). However, I blow dry my hair most evenings so it looks nice the next morning so a hair treatment oil helps keep frizzies at bay, and keeps hair from drying out too much.

Here are my top picks from different price spectrums 😀

December 8, 2011 Paris B 33 Comments

I have a bit of a list of stuff to tell you about *looks at list and shuts them in my new bookshelf/cupboard* but I’m putting them aside for this – the Sleek Makeup Berry Collection for Christmas 2011. Well, also because this is one of those limited edition things, I get to show you 3 berry-rific colours on my face at one go, and its almost Christmas! 😀

Wait till you hear how much this kit costs – a princely £9.99. No I did not misplace a decimal point. Its under £10 which makes it under RM50 and for 3 items, I’d say not bad at all!

Let’s take a look!

Tip: Create a flawless makeup base with Concealer not thick foundation

December 6, 2011 Paris B 49 Comments

flawless base with concealer

Few of us have perfectly smooth skin with no blemishes to cover. Don’t we wish we did though? Thank goodness for makeup! 😉

But how many of us attempt to cover our blemishes or marks with a high coverage foundation or thicker foundation? I must confess I did. I had the impression that the job of the foundation was to mask all imperfections on my skin so the higher the coverage, the better. That was also why I didn’t like liquid foundation. I was going for all the thick ones and my skin hated them. When I tried tinted moisturizers, I didn’t like them either because nothing was covered.

And then I discovered concealer. Its been a bit of a learning curve, but I’ll tell you now that if you have imperfections on your skin, you do not need a thick or high coverage foundation. What you may need is a good concealer instead 🙂
