New! Clarins Hydraquench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase and Hydraquench Creams

September 23, 2011 Paris B 14 Comments

New? I just just hear some of you squeak. This isn’t new! Clarins has had the Hydraquench range for years!

clarins hydraquench range 2011 new

2 years to be exact. I still use the Hydraquench Cream Mask and it still never ceases to amaze me how it just disappears into my skin when its feeling dry and sits on top of my skin when it isn’t. It does a pretty good job of hydrating skin and I like using it after a purifying mask. I also complained previously that the rather popular Hydraquench Smoothing Gel did not quite do it for me. So there’s now a product called Cream-Melt that is a lightweight cream that melts on the skin. Something heavier for picky people like me 😛

So yes… they still look the same as the “old” Hydraquench but its been improved so it performs better 🙂

Still featuring Katafray extract as the key ingredient, and with the introduction of our old friend Hyaluronic Acid, Hydraquench, as the name implies, is a hydrating skincare range from Clarins. I can vouch for the improvement in the Hydraquench Intensive Serum Bi-phase in that it no longer has as strong a scent and it seems to absorbs more quickly. The previous formula while doing an excellent job, smelt too strongly of jasmine for my liking.

Oh and there’s a new packaging too. Its all very subtle but if you compare the photos of these products featured here to the old packaging here, you will notice a difference. If you are new to the range, don’t worry about it. Packaging is not a determination of a products’ efficacy 🙂

Is anyone out there a Clarins Hydraquench user? Or a frequenter of the Clarins facials? I’ve been for the facials a few times but for some very strange reason, I can never fall asleep during the facials. There is always so much activity going on – massaging of the face, of your arms and legs and although my skin likes it (no extractions FTW!) I think my mind is just too distracted by everything going on, to relax. You?

Clarins Hydraquench is available at all Clarins counters and Facial Institutes and the Intensive Serum Bi-Phase retails for RM200/30ml, HydraQuench Cream-Gel at RM180/30ml and HydraQuench Cream-Melt at RM180/30ml

Can’t wait to hear your take on this – I too, didn’t fancy the scent of the earlier range so it’s good that they have toned it down. 🙂

Yup its lighter in texture now too and seems to absorb more quickly. I haven’t yet given it a go though but will update when I do 🙂

I prefer the old one though 🙁 it’s strange that sometimes during the day, the serum+cream melt is not even enough for me, but at night, i am fine with just the cream-melt alone! must be something in the office that jinxes me!

Thanks Xin! Now I know what to look out for. I might have a tiny bit left of the old serum so I’ll do a side by side comparison and see which one works better hehe… 😉

Im using the cream gel and serum bi-phase for the last 1 week.
Love the smell and it absorb rapidly :D.
I have dry-combination skin, my cheek area quite dry and this duo help me to moisturised it nicely without make my T-Zone oily.
Day time Im using 1 pump of serum and 2 pumps for night.

Thanks for sharing your experience Amanda 🙂 I’ll probably have to revisit this one soon and see how I like it compared to the previous version 🙂

Oops! Maybe the one from 2 years ago was a reformulation too LOL! Clarins wasn’t on my radar till then but must be good stuff if your friend has been using it for 7 years!

Clarins had a great GWP recently and something was wrong with card, I am still upset that I haven’t had a chance to make an order but I am tempted by several products from them.
Now I have a pretty big wish list from the brand, including some makeup range 🙂

Their new eyeshadow quads get a lot of raves and their Blush Prodige too. I’ve been meaning to get a blush for ages! I’m never sure why I never got round to it LOL!

Too many awesome brands out there with hydration range. Didn’t like this. But the serum that makes the face look V from diff angles is good for me. 🙂

Ooh you used that V shape serum thing? Its not bad right? It seems to help reduce puffiness for me when I was using it 🙂

Yes. It’s very good. On my 2nd bottle. With the new thicker formulation, it’s quite difficult to massage. I’m quite lazy anyway…

This really defines my jaw line especially when I put on a little weight. But i naturally have a strong jaw line, so it’s not a miracle product. However, it doesn’t really firm up my cheeks. Now they are sagging and my cheekbones are coming out more prominently, I should do some damage control with anti-aging stuff. Haha….

    Hi Paris,

I’m a frequent Clarins user including HydraQuench range. Recently just took their facial and it’s really good.
