Something new this way cometh… if I ever get round to it!

July 2, 2011 Paris B 33 Comments

Happy Saturday Ladies!

I’m down and out for the count, as it were. I came down with a nasty 24 hour flu bug in the past few days and have been working hard to get better. I meant I got infected within 24 hours – right as rain today, down and out the next day – is it me or are these flu bugs getting harder to quash?

I’m taking all sorts of liquids and keeping hydrated etc etc but am staying away from antibiotics for now. I don’t do antis unless I can’t help it. Still, can’t leave you without something to read or at least view, so here are some new stuff I’ve picked up that you will see reviewed in the coming weeks/days/and hopefully not months 😛

Inglot eyeshadows and Freedom palette

I finally made it down to the local Inglot store in Sunway Pyramid for their official opening last week. Took me over an hour to choose these colours to make up my 4 pan Freedom palettes but I’m happy with them 🙂 Opted for the 4 pans as they are more travel friendly, and I’m very surprised that the pans are a lot bigger than I expected! Good value for money for sure. Wanna name my palettes? 🙂 Inglot eyeshadows (RM28 each) and 4 pan Freedom palette (RM27).

Bobbi Brown BB Cream and Canmake Cream Blush

The Bobbi Brown BB Cream isn’t new anymore but I just have to tell you about it soon. I do like it very much considering it is a BB Cream and all and I take the colour Extra Light. There are 3 shades – Extra Light, Light and Medium and retail at RM129 at the airport where I picked mine up and RM150 in store. The Canmake Cream Cheek blush is because I’m quite into cream blushes at this point in time.

L’Occitane Angelica hydrating skincare

The L’Occitane Angelica hydrating skincare line will appear in stores in August 2011. It is sourced from organic Angelica leaves (Angelica root is dong kwai which those familiar with Chinese medication might recognise) The leaves have been used in this range of skincare for its hydrating properties and protection from free radicals. I’ve already seen this line sold at the DFS @ Scotts Road in Singapore, if you are there and want to get a headstart.

I hope you are hale and hearty and having an excellent weekend ahead! If you have thoughts to share on anything pictured, feel free to… or if you want to name my Inglot palettes haha!

How are their palettes like? I’m looking for good travel friendly palettes to depot my stuff, but I’ve a feeling the Inglot ones will fit only Inglot pans right? Or is the divider bit somehow removable?

And do get a lot of rest, plus stay hydrated. Get well soon!

Inglot palettes are amazing! The magnets hold in the pans beautifully and everything feels so sturdy and strong. However they are only meant for Inglot freedom system pans so no, they don’t fit other brands and the dividers are fixed. Thanks for the well wishes. I’m drowning in liquids!

Feel better soon! I really hate stomach bugs. I usually drink lots of lemon water when I’m sick, and the vitamins in it helps 🙂

Yay for Inglot! I wish they had a store here :p

Mine’s your typical flu bug – now down to a cough and I’m battling it so it goes away soon! Lemon water sounds delish. I’m eating lots of oranges too hehe… I enjoyed visiting the local Inglot store but its so far away from where I live I might never go again 😛

Speaking for the eyeshadows, I think the quality is very good. Colours are pigmented and they are inexpensive and the variety is awesome! I wasn’t too taken in by the lip colours for some reason – nothing special caught my eye although the gel eyeliners look interesting too.

There were too many people during the launch so I didn’t find it too much fun but I don’t think the store/brand is going anywhere anytime so you have lots of time to save up for the products 🙂

I’m having a nasty flu too! Doctor said it’s a viral flu, will take 2-4 weeks to recover.

Get well soon! I think it’s hard to be shopping for make up (and perfume because you can’t smell anything) when you’re flu-ish, so here’s wishing you a speedy recovery!

I like most of the shimmer colours. I only got 1 matte and that only to be used as a blush. The colours are pigmented and interesting. I think they’re worth a look although they are considerably pricey in Australia!

I got 7 eyeshadows from them, and so far no complain! And I personally think that it is better than Mac in terms of quality, i.e. color payoff, long-lasting power, cheaper and larger in size, etc. Hope they can bring in more colors in the near future. Eyes on their rainbow eyeshadow now! Do you try to take out the pan out of their palette? It is freaky easy by just using the magnet of the lid and hold near to the edge of the eyeshadow pan. They will pop up easily~ nice to play with, haha~

I am loathe to compare anything to MAC because I do not have a high opinion of their shadows haha! I’d put this at close to Shu Uemura which is a good enough compliment from me 😉 I tried using the magnet but it didn’t work so I used a paring knife/blade and that works well enough 🙂

I really love to test out the eyeshadows. Hope they will come to Singapore soon. Looking addictive these palattes you’ve got. Especially the one on the left. Looking very much like my addiction by ayako mix and match palatte i’ve got from japan. That coral shadow will look lovely as a blush too?

Rumours are you can expect them early next year in Singapore but don’t take my word for it 🙂 You are a clever girl! I intentionally picked the peach/coral shade to be used as a blush and its matte which is perfect 😀

    Hi Paris,
hope ya feeling better already! 🙂 Love your Inglot palettes 🙂 Btw, have you tried the L’Occitane Angelica hydrating skincare range yet? How do you like them? I am thinking of buying the eye gel with a roller ball applicator, but I haven’t read much reviews on this range yet…

I’m using the hydrating cream as we speak 🙂 I only tested the eye gel at the launch but I haven’t tried it yet since its not out till August. Its a really new range which might explain the lack of reviews – we’ll probably see more to come in the coming months once it rolls out 🙂

Yes the peach is matte and I’m sorry I can’t remember numbers >.< So you're going to have to wait till I run my review when I'll properly label them.
