Dior 21 Night Renewal Serum : The Results

June 1, 2011 Paris B 10 Comments

I’m not sure how many of you remember when I asked if the Dior 21 Night Renewal Serum would make me look 21 again. My follow up post thereafter was to tell you that one bottle of the serum lasts close to a month for me. So I ended up taking 3 months to finish one course! Quite worth it I say! 😛

This is a treatment product from Dior Capture Totale so its not something you use often. The recommendation is to use it maybe twice a year and to use the Dior Capture Totale skincare range thereafter to maintain the skin condition.

What I found upon using this “treatment” was yes, firmer and slightly more refined skin. I couldn’t capture it on the camera – its not that obvious, but it so happened I had skin tests before and after this period (not related) and test results after did show firmer more elastic skin that really, belies my actual age. I believe its not just this serum. I take care of my skin and I have genetics to thank as well.

The one thing I noticed off the bat was the skin on my neck. For some reason, I realized that the skin on my neck was feeling a bit “loose”. It was worrying. So, when I started this treatment, I applied it down to my neck. Almost from the first bottle, I saw an improvement.

The skin on my neck seemed to visibly firm up and it stopped getting all “flappy”. Thank God! 😛 Using the whole course might have helped it remain firmer but I do take care especially when using antiaging products, to follow it through down to my neck to prevent just this problem.

The serum comes in 3 little bottles with a dropper mechanism in each bottle. Each bottle has varying consistencies of the serum. The first bottle is a little translucent, and the serum is clear. This lasted the longest because you only use about 1 pump each time. The second bottle is opaque and the serum is milky. The third bottle is opaque and the serum is thicker and has a yellow tint. The third bottle lasted the shortest time, just over 2 weeks.

You are recommended to use the Dior Capture Totale Night Cream for “maintenance”. I do like the cream as my review will tell you but I personally think any good anti-aging cream will do as well 🙂 I’ve been mixing and matching to my skincare needs (which at present need lots of hydration) and so far so good! Elasticity is still good (a recent skin test confirmed this!) but as I have said, genetics plays a big part.

So, is this serum worth it? I’d say yes, if you have lax skin that is losing elasticity or just needs some firming up. It is supposed to help refine the skin too but I did not quite see much benefit in that sector for me, mainly because work stresses got in the way. If you use it up within 21 nights or within 2 months, it could very well do it.

This is also good for balancing out the skin between seasons – dry, and humid – so you need it at most twice a year if you live in a seasonal country. For us, probably just once because its an intensive treatment. But if you don’t have a problem with skin firmness, then I’d say just stick to what your skin needs for now.

Reckon I look 21? *preen* 😉

I’d be crying if I look 21 at the moment. 🙁 (Not meaning to brag, though)

But Dior skincare seems to work for the people I know that are using them, so yeah, congrats!

Heh you’re young! 😛 Dior skincare is hit or miss even for me. The whitening line doesn’t work for me but the anti-aging line does work well 🙂

If you can find someone else who wants to use it, you could actually share it 😛 Trust me. It takes forever to finish!

It surely did work wonders especially after your RMK makeover. You skin glowed a natural healthy look. 21?? I think for some of us, I much prefer my skin when I reached 30. I think so la…

Ooh *preen* thanks dearie! haha… I much prefer my skin now too. At 21 it was collapsing under the onslaught of raging hormones and improper care. Thank God for good genes 😛

I hate my skin now!!! 21 was definitely better. I sometimes wonder if the skincare factor will catch up with the ravages of time. You didn’t test this on it’s own right?

I’m not sure what you mean? As this is just a serum, I used my regular skincare around it. I wasn’t using anything new at this time – just my regular cleanser, toner/lotion and moisturizers. I do like my skin a lot better now than when it was going crazy when I was 21 LOL!

I just might recommend this to mum who is always on the lookout for anti-aging products! the fact that a little goes a long way will make it look even more attractive to her =p

Its a treatment, so just once or twice a year will suffice 😉
