I’d been using this Essence Stay with Me lipgloss since I got it a couple of weeks ago. Its very affordable at just RM9.90 each and I had to see just how it fared.
The Essence Stay with Me lipgloss range is a longlasting lipgloss that comes in some strange colours, ranging from the bright to the strangely nude opaque pink and peach. I could not get the hang of the colours. The colours in the tube, are pretty much what you get and I went for something safe called Berry Me! which is a berry toned gloss.
The applicator is quite a strange one.
Its a wavy shape sponge applicator that picks up product well, but I’m not too sure how one applies it to the lips. Do you use the side where the curve is? Do you use the end? I settle for a combination of the two, using the curve to swipe on colour and the end to detail the edges.
The texture is a little thick and it is a little bit sticky, but not overly so. There is a sweet scent I could do without.

This gloss is surprisingly quite pigmented. 1 swipe gives you good colour. Layer it and you get a very good opaque glossy lip that is lovely. I am also impressed with the longevity of the gloss, considering its a lipgloss. I wore this for about 4-5 hours and the colour remained through coffee, water and food. It of course, faded after lunch, but that was to be expected. What impressed me was how long it stayed on through my morning coffee and water intake. Impressive!
Also featuring: Nars Tzarine eyeshadow, Burberry Beauty Misty Blush
On my lips and skin, the colour is a little more red and less berry. Its a lovely colour and I’d easily pick up more, were it not for the sweet scent. If you aren’t bothered by scents in lipgloss, look this one up. The small price tag will keep your wallet happy.
Pros: Affordable, Longlasting colour, good pigment for a lipgloss
Cons: Sweet scent
I think the quality of this lipgloss is excellent for the price. Its the first item I’ve tried from Essence Cosmetics, and I was quite impressed with it. Now what they have to do is get rid of the scent and produce some other brighter colours and I’d be all over them! Unfortunately, with their price point overseas, I think they are going for the teen market which usually prefers sweet scented gloss and pale colours. Still, one can hope.

Nice! Very natural! 🙂 Cheap too and frankly, good looking packaging. Reminds me of the Buxom range of glosses, I think. Looks nothing like the Revlon, L’oreal or Silky Girl tubes. 🙂

No indeed! Its very sturdy, very well packaged. Just the wand is a bit strange.

Oooo i like the pigment. Looks great on you too!
I’m not much of a gloss fan (the ones I’ve used before tend to make me feel like a weird think layer of something on my lips that I can’t get used to)…neither am I a fan of the strong scent some gloss gives…but I’d certainly give this one a try considering the price and the pretty color and its longlasting-ness…If only I can find time to stroll along that area to check this brand out. Kinda intrigued by this brand since you mentioned it on your blog (esp the blush). Cant wait for your other reviews of Essence items you bought!

I’m not a gloss fan too! 😀 I am quite particular that my glosses have to be non or lightly scented and non sticky with good pigment. I make an exception for Guerlain even though its scented 😉 But I do find that inexpensive glosses have their merits too (and I don’t feel bad if they get lost) This one’s pretty decent and so is the blush!

That is a beautiful colour – reminds me of a limited edition MAC lipgloss that was in a palette many years ago.

Really? Well well a dupe for a MAC gloss! 😀

And happy on the pocket too!

The pigmentation and staying power sure are good for that price! Most glosses disappear on me in 1-2 hours. I don’t mind sweet scents as long as it performs well.

I hope you find this one in PH. Seriously, it holds true to its long lasting claim

Hi There!
I know this is totally off topic but my sis’s getting married in a month and she was wondering where to get good eyelash extension. Do you have any recommendations? 🙂

That’s a beautiful color. I love how pigmented this glosses are! The applicator is just weird though, I wish they came with the classic doe-foot applicator. That’s just easier to use. I’m glad the gloss lasts long on you. Unfortunately, it disappears soon on me..

I wish they would change the applicator too! Perhaps if more of us complain they will 😉
