Day 19 of 30 : Dior Creme de Gloss Pink Elixir No. 255

June 13, 2011 Paris B 20 Comments

This is a lipgloss I’ve had for quite a while. Its been so long, I can’t even remember how much it costs anymore (or if its still available. I do hope it is!) It comes with the signature Dior Cannage canework in the cap and a sturdy acrylic plastic bottom where you can see the colour and how much is left.

This formula is the Dior Creme de Gloss and the colour is No. 255 Pink Elixir. Its as you might expect, a light neutral pink gloss. One that I never thought I’d wear because I’m all about being bold lipped. But there are some days, when you just don’t feel like having makeup on (or look like you’re having makeup on) and when you want to look effortlessly pulled together. On days like this, I pull out Pink Elixir and go.

The packaging is simple and sturdy and the applicator is a doe foot sponge tip which isn’t my applicator of choice, but it does its job quite well. The texture is creamy yet not sticky. Not. One. Bit. There is also no scent. Its a really lovely gloss and imparts a lovely shine to the lips. I dug this one out when I was doing this 30 day lip series, and fell in love with it all over again.

Pink Elixir as a colour is a light pink. It looks barely there on my pigmented lips. If you have light coloured lips, it’ll show up as a light pink with no shimmer but a creamy shine that isn’t in your face, but understated and classy. Its really quite lovely 🙂

Pros: Not sticky, Lovely creamy texture, Nice shine, No scent, Lovely packaging

Cons: Other than possibly the price, nothing else

Apologies for there being no other photos of this gloss or of a swatch. I’m trying out something new and the photos have been terrible thus far. On the back of my hand, the colour is clearly a light pink. It just doesn’t look that way on my lips. I might venture to say that this, and not a brown nude is the perfect neutral or nude lip look for me.

Have you tried the Dior Creme de Gloss? Do you have a colour you’d like to recommend? Or perhaps you have the price or availability (because I don’t)?

Doncha just love it when a gloss is just pure shine instead of sparkly with glitter? I do! 😛 This looks very nude lippy on you, PB. Sweet!

Nude eyeshadow and lipstick….both r enhancing your natural beauty. I have never been to Malaysia but I bet after looking at you that people there are very beautiful… Its not this lipstick, whatever you wear, you look beautiful because YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
